A real-time strategy game with 4X elements, from the developers of the critically acclaimed Northgard. Set in Frank Herbert’s groundbreaking Dune universe, you must lead your faction and battle for control and dominance over the harsh desert planet of Arrakis.
Spice is the most valuable resource in the universe. The spice extends life, it expands consciousness and makes interstellar travel possible. Create your own story and play as one of several factions, including House Atreides and House Harkonnen, and compete for power over Dune and the spice.
Scan the landscape for wormsign or risk losing your troops and spice harvesters to titanic sandworms who will burst through the sand dunes to swallow and devour them whole. Best your opponents through political intrigue, crush them in combat, and undermine them with your network of illusive spies.

What do you think of The Fremen? Any unit that stands out?
Fedaykin do stand out, considering Liet Kynes is the leader of the Fremen and they were established in the book by Paul Muad'Dib (so after Liet Kynes' death).
they remind me of the GLA from command and conquer. i'm a huge Dune fan, thanks in large part to the first RTS game, Dune 2. I just found out about this game today. It's interesting you like the art styles. It reminds me a lot of the few Dune games they made in the 90s. I think Westwood made them. It looks like they're traveling far off Dune lore, but i hope it's a good game. For instance, Paul Atreides created the Fedaykin as his personal body guard. Otheym was one, but if Paul isn't with the Fremen yet, there would be no Fedaykin. Also, no beasts of burden on Arrakis. They use technology called suspensors to move things around. Largest mammal living in the desert is a mouse.
I'm pretty sure the "sword" on the flag and used by the troops is a "crysknife;" A sacred weapon of the Fremen.
Yeah it’d be nice if this guy knew his source material better. He kinda rambles on off the top of his head as well… oh well moving on
The real question now is, how are they going to put Paul in the game?
Fedaykin is pronounced more like "Fade-ah-keen."
Given that the Fremen were the "missing faction" in Dune 2 it makes a lot of sense. Having an infantry-focused faction changes things up as well. I wonder how the balancing works out. I don't imagine their recruitment costs would be extremely low, first because they aren't incredibly numerous (yes, there are more of them than the Houses believe but not *that* many) and second due to their level of training. However since they use less water, then maybe?? Does water act as a mechanic in the game? I haven't kept up on it as much as I should have.
I think they have some movement advantages.

On one hand I’d like to have them as a more interactable faction that can be influenced on the other hand they absolutely deserve to be their own faction. Kinda torn but still excited
Never been a fan of this style of games (4x) or whatever they call it but I'm really willing to give it a try as its dune!
Dune 2 was my childhood and intro to the universe... I just wish we got a modern day version of that or redo... command and conquer remastered was brilliant and if they could do 50% what they did what that for dune 2 or 2000 I would be super happy!

So it may be worth noting that EA has had steam stop selling C&C4 on steam. I know it was a very bad game but this move just happened and I wonder this means EA recognizes this game is bad. An is planning on something new to be announced very soon. What’s your take on this?

Remains as a barely mentioned House / Landsraad member in the books
Remember that the now defunct Westwood Studios in the 1990s were responsible for inserting Ordos as an ascended House Major into the game lore, but with strict oversight of Frank Herbert's descendants. It's the turn of Shiro Games to adhere to the book lore provided by the Herberts and KJA.

They only changed Liet Kynes because a blonde white guy would hinder the movies ethnic fetishization of brown fremen, something many of them were but clearly in more of a swarthy sense rather than being black since clearly Paul wouldn't have been able to blend in if they were, something he is described as doing in the books. I think it is pure cringe. When adding original characters and filling in undescribed characters and background characters they can do whatever they want, but to so drastically change an important character is so blatant I can't help but like the movie and this game less for it.
The faction of the smuglers is lame. There are other houses and cultures that have their own tech, like House Corino or the Tleylaxu
House Corrino is the ruling House Major at the start of the earliest Dune books, but the Emperor's subjects can't openly intervene into the personal affairs of both Atreides and Harkonnen without drawing the ire of other Houses in the Landsraad. Sending a legion of their Sardaukar volunteers to aid Harkonnen was kinda sus...
House Tleilaxu would rather remain as a support House that provides gholas of VIPs of other Houses, y'know, playing God ain't easy coz restrictions of the Butlerian Jihad.

Ordos was not cannon, that was a invention of Westwood... It's funny the children of frank hervert don't wish to licence anything to remake any of the older games because they were not canon... And this looks less canon than dune2... Atreides should not be blue, they are red! (It was one of the things more shocked me when I read the book)
