One of the groups that are really near to perfection. That's RARE
idk if guides typically list awards/accomplishments but what gfriend was able to achieve is seriously a miracle. their incredible teamwork (and of course the music) is what rose them to fame and drove source music out of bankruptcy and the basement it once was. people that've worked with them always have something nice to say too 🥺 theyre the sweetest girls ever I'll always be a fan!! and it's so nice to see new people give them so much praise even now 😭 thank you!!

Umji promised Buddies that she would release a full cover of the Japanese song Lemon one day after she got great feedback she sang one verse of it at a Japanese concert. You saw a clip of that in this video. But Source Music never allowed her to keep her promise to fans. However her new company Big Planet Made which signed VIVIZ allowed her to keep that promise and she released an amazing emotional cover of Lemon, which is a very sad song about the loss of a loved one. It is so good it has nearly as many views as Maniac and about twice as many views as Untie which is crazy for a low budget video set amongst washing on a rooftop. I highly recommend you watch it.

The magic tricks that Yuju does are spoof jokes to make people laugh not to be taken seriously as most can be done by anyone. The exception being The crossover of hands which is tricky without lots of practice and the serial finger tutting is really hard to do so smoothly and perfectly without having excellent muscle control and doing lots of practice. But she is super talented in reality being for years the fastest female idol in Kpop winning the gold medal at 60m and setting a new record time besides what was shown here. Her physique is very impressive from years of intense work in the gym allowing her to have the core strength to make pole dancing look effortless when it would kill most people to do.
When you also consider her fantastic voice and her song writing skills she is the perfect all rounder and truly the Golden Member of GFriend. She has written every song on all her albums since she went solo but was rarely allowed to take part in that whilst in GFriend.
gfriend are NOT disbanded. they are currently just not working/ promoting as a group of six. the members keep emphasizing this. they don't say "it's a possibility that we will come back", but they say "we WILL comeback and we ARE gfriend". it's a very important point to them, so we as "faithful" buddies, trust in what they say and repeat it to others. gfriend are simply on HIATUS. they have the rights to their group name. they are allowed to perform the songs alone, in few or as a group. they will come back eventually. estimated: between 2025 and 2028.

@@thesavguard3 some clips are the same but there are a lot of different ones too including a lot more vocal moments. It lists all their awards as well which is worthy of appreciation especially as they came from an unknown bankrupt company who were about to go bust when they debuted. They were told that their first comeback Me Gustas Tu was likely to be their disbandment song as they had no more money to continue. The CEO had already remortgaged his house just to pay for their debut and was up to his eyes in debt borrowing money from friends and family for their comeback. So to go on to such success from such humble beginnings is awesome.

The other guide is kinda formal, informative and shows little bit more clips of the members' singing. Reagrdless, i think buddies are pretty much agree that both are great and fun guides. If you want a good song suggestion that is sometimes forgotten, my favorite song from them is Rainbow.
Gfriend has some of the most well produced songs in K-pop industry, there are so much layers in the instrumentals of their songs.

If you want to watch more of Gfriend’s group interactions and see more of their personalities I can recommend watching their reality series Memoria which was a weekly show starting in 2020 featuring them going away on vacations and having to drive themselves there where they play games and have fun. Because it was filmed relatively recently you will find it easier to identify the members than in the earlier reality shows which although hilarious, they are so young.

Glad to see you do the subpar guide. As you saw, it actually made a point to show member's personality. Gfriend is a chaotic and talent group with tremendous discography and special choreography. Fun to see you take the dive.
The channel M has individual guides for every member of GFriend if you want to dig deeper into them and see more of their vocals and personality. That is the same channel that has the other recommended guide as well to the whole group.

"Si" is pronounced like "she" in korean, that applies to SinB too. Just to let your know xD, if you hear they calling her in korean. It's the same with Siyeon from Dreamcatcher too for exemple.
Gfriend has been inactive for 3 years and they are still in the top 4 for female groups with the most music show wins (71 wins). Also, even though this group comes from a small company, they were able to enter the top 5 of 3rd gen girl groups known as TREBLMAYEO (twice, rv, bp, mamamoo, yeojachingu/gfriend)
idk if someone as comment this already, but gfriend aren't really disbanded. the girls have said so multiple times, as well as hinting that they were 'fired' from their company and that it wasn't their desire to go their separate ways like this. further more, bpm only became a company after yerin, sowon and yuju had already signed their solo contracts (yerin has already left to go to another company, same with sowon. only yuju and viviz remain in the first companies they re-debuted at).
even tho they don't promote as a group as of now, they still spend a lot of their free time together, and whenever there's a comeback of any of the girls they are always supporting them on social media, doing the tik tok challenges and the members actually listen to each others music before the comebacks and give their opinion. if you havent seen queendom 2, for the first performance viviz actually called sowon to help them decide what songs they should perform.
in fact, viviz doesn't have a fixed leader. they said that sowon is still their leader, and each comeback they rotate (e.g. this comeback the leader was eunha).
they also have talked a lot about reuniting as a group, we know it's gonna happen we just don't know when. they're still a group but the members are just in different companies, like got7 or infinite, who had their group comeback this year even tho they are now in different companies (mind you infinite is a 13 year old group they could very well just want to do their own stuff and not be in a group anymore but those men love each other and that group too much).
tbh gfriend members, even though they are in different companies, seem to hang out and spend more time together than groups who are actually together in the same company. they are really a family.
so you never know, you might still have a chance to see them live one day.
