Kid Ramos is one of my favorite guitar players of all time. Saw Kid on Friday at Don the Beach Comber w Tommy and Memphis Kings...awesome. Kid's comping on Eddie Clean Head song was swinging and sublime...of course Tommy was awesome too! Thanks for posting this - excellent!
Cousin Harley played Bluesfest Byron Bay April 4th & 5th 2010.With Brian Setzer & Dave Gonzales the 3rd best Rockabilly Guitarist I have seen live.So Fast.Never had a chance to See Kid Ramos live but am a big fan of his.
I dig that Harmony H-62 sound from Kid Ramos - awesome playing! I have a '55 H-60 (single P-13 pickup - dead, unfortunately) and really should get that pickup rewound. Seeing this has inspired me to get it done.
One of the best versions I've ever heard, seriously. The vocal fills where there are usually guitar fills are an outstanding interpretation of Frankie Lee Sims original tune.
@@TommyHarkenriderguitar Absolutely. Did you check out the "experiment" that JW Jones did with Charlie Baty with a Kemper profiler? It was posted yesterday. You have got to see this, it's too cool. It's on Charlie's FB page, as well as JW, if you're friends with either of them. David saw it and probably told you already I suspect. There's a slew of folks jumping in to comment. It made my Sunday.
Blues heaven! Listening to my great James Harman album who I know played with Hollywood Fats. Love Hollywood Fats! Then I spot Kid Ramos who does some tasty guitar on the James Harman album and I had to hear his stuff so did a search on You Tube which brought me here. I'm watching the video, wait, is that Paul Pigat? I saw him at the Casper Inn a few years ago! Love Cousin Harley! Wow, what a line up! Died and gone to heaven. Blues heaven.
You could name all the Big Name Guitarists, and it's a rehash of the same names. Kid Ramos is among the Top Guitartist on my List. He can walk into any band, and they are instantly better. When he joined the Fabulous TBirds they were struggling in my estimation. He had a broken up career as he left the music business to be with his family from 88 until 94. This guy has played in many different bands, and they were all great west coast swing bands.
+Russell Groves I would love to come to Byron bay. Really a beautiful part of the world very envious. I was down there with Candye Kane Years ago. You have me thinking that we should come down and see you!!!
+Tommy Harkenrider Man, you gotta get back. Bluesfest would put you the bill in a heartbeat! Just love your playing! Get in touch with Peter Noble, Bluesfest director, and please get on down here! Looking like a great lineup next year (April?), but I'm only goin' if you guys are goin'! :)
You guys kill it. everyone sounds great. Whats Kid playing through? Ive seen him over the years with quite a few different amps. I saw him once at the Doll Hut and he's was playing through an AC30 cranked. Holy hell it was loud, but holy donuts did it sound amazing.
I hear you on the Vox, sounds so good, but yeah its loud. I believe during that show he used 2 vox pathfinders. KIller little amps. Solid state but great tone. Of course kid could play through a pignose and make it sound good.
I don't know how in the hell those gray hairs in the front row can sit still with them tearing it up right in front of them!!! I have gray hair and I would be bouncing around like crazy!!
Thanks Brad! I think the only pedal was a boss tank reverb pedal. I was using the Nocturne Brain Mooneshine 39. Great reproduction of a Charlie Christian 185. All the gain is coming from the amp.
Both Tommy Harkenrider and Kid Ramos are disciples of Junior Watson ...love the west coast swingin' blues. Paul Pigat is noted as a rockabilly guitarist but as you can hear, he plays the blues very well. These cats swing real hard!
@@Soulspinner001, get my info from real world interaction with these musicians. Used to take lessons from Tommy, who turned me on to Paul Pigat and own a couple of his CDs which are Rockabilly genre. @@michaelgreen5206 I own some of Cousin Harley's discs, so I was introduced to him as a Rockabilly guitarist. I just heard that he played Jazz before that. Plus, I agree the other two are great as well. Just living in Scotland I never heard of Tommy or Kid before. Looked like a fun night in that bar. If it is a bar??
Tommy Harkenrider Yes I have one ( in the UK) imported from Denmark. Usually I link up a 2*10 cab but now I'm wondering about that. Great sound and very portable. Cheers
Wow! Amazing performance. Too bad the audience is a bunch of very old guitar geeks that analyze the music instead of dancing with their wives. Yeah it's music you actually dance to guys lol
This never gets old!! Love 💕 it!!
I'm 84.and I'm rocking
The bass player is right in the pocket!! Best version on this song going around.
WOW! Doesn't get much better than that. Those 3 guitars were insane. Paul, Tommy and Kid - just mad talent across the board.
This Paul Pigat is a monster on his axe 💞
Always a pleasure to see Kid playing, and that Tele is sounding lovely and well-played!
Man what a band! And the sound of that tele is spectacular!! Ty
Rock n Roll and Blues just can not beat it....love it sound great boys...Mel UK...

All 3 guitars so tasteful! And Kid…EVERYBODY pays attention!
