This is my favorite type of knitting video to watch. As someone who knits almost constantly, I love observing what a “normal” amount of knitting is for other people.
2022 is the year I dove head first into garment knitting, I’m disabled and unable to do much else so I guess I just needed something to swallow up all of my free time. So far, I’ve finished 33 sweaters this year and I’m getting close to finishing sweater 34. In this time I’ve also knit several shawls, hats, socks, and other accessories.
I think in 2023 I need to branch out from sweaters before my massive hoard forms a mind of its own and takes over.
34 Sweaters + more?! You're incredible and an inspiration!!! And I know what you mean ... It's fascinating to observe how we can make knitting fit into our different lifestyles. We love it and will find a way to make it work! I must admit, I'm a little jealous of all your knitting time. Keep at it!! 😄💖
I very nearly sprayed Earl Grey tea everywhere when you said “Hopefully we can all just co-exist”. You’re the best. I want to make you an honorary Aussie! Oi! Oi! Oi! Your 2022 FOs are all gorgeous. In fact, I wish the Nightingale wasn’t sooooooo gorgeous. I really don’t neeeeeed one. But I want to make it so much!
I decided to learn knitting this year and very quickly became obsessed. Finished 27 sweaters, 2 t shirt, 3 pairs of socks, and 3 hats
I have completed 37 projects this year so far using 19,170 yards of yarn, and at a minimum 2-3 more will be complete before the new year. :D 10 hats, 8 pairs of socks, 7 sweaters, 3 shawls, 2 scarves, 2 cowls, and dog sweater, cat toy, a stuffed toy, a pair of footies, and a glass cozy. Whew! Really enjoy your podcast and happy holidays to you!
Ahhh the princess Diana sheep sweater is in my queue! You make me want to purchase yarn for it now lol
Opening my yarn store and having my baby were my two favorite FOs! ☺️
Wow!! One cannot compete with that! 😄 Congratulations!!! 💖
@@Voolenvine oh you are too kind! Thank you! 💜
I knit over 60 items this year, yeah crazy…30 sweaters, 10 shawls, 20 hats, a couple pairs of mittens, socks, one dickie and a few cowls..pant pant…..great fun !
Oh my goodness that sweater 😮❤❤❤
I counted off nine, oops make that eleven, finished objects, which blows me away. Have a lovely break, happy Christmas. 💜💜💜
I knitted 54 projects, some small, like gloves and socks, and some large, like the Twists and Turns KAL! Favorites: Lunae, Single Malt, STRIPES!,Daily Pullover, Thea top.
Wow how has a year gone this fast !? I finished lots of projects for other people and only one pair of socks for me. I think 2023 needs to be for me 😜. And I think I need to join the Monday waffle people!!!!
I enjoyed seeing your recap! Congratulations on completing all of those FOs! 🙂 Looking forward to seeing what you have in the works for 2023! Be blessed, stay safe and enjoy your new year!! 🙂❤
Merry Christmas kristen. That was so fun seeing all that you have knit., I would love to knit the easy v.
You also had some gorgeous quilting and sewing finishes.
I love your channel and your contents. I hope you have a fantastic Christmas and refreshing break. You deserve it. See you in 2023
Julie
Amazing FO'S. Beautiful sheep 🐑 sweater ❤️
Kristin you have some beautiful makes this year! I’ve been keeping track of my makes on Ravelry and I’m at 25 this year so far(my goal is 30) I’ve knit 8 sweaters, 5 pairs of socks , 2 cowls, 4 hats, 3 shawls, 1 bralette , 1 pair of mittens and 1 linen bag. Thanks for all the wonderful content this year! It’s been great getting to know you better this year ❤ have a wonderful break from work and a lovely holiday season .
I've enjoyed keeping up with all your gorgeous knits, Rhonda! And getting to meet you and other "Rabbit Holers" was definitely one of the highlights of 2022 for me! 💖💖💖
According to Ravelry, I've made 47 projects this year, but that includes 6 washcloths and 6 little knitted or crocheted pumpkins, which were quick to make. I've also made a gnome (Here we Gnome Again by Sarah Schira), seven adult sweaters, a Baby Surprise Jacket, a large baby blanket, six hats, two pairs of mitts, nine pairs of adult socks, one pair of baby socks, a cowl and two shawls. I just astonished myself. I think the the thing I'm most proud of is the Lindisfarne Shawl by Lucy Hague or the Brioche+Mystery shawl by Susanne Sommer. Those both stretched my abilities, especially the Lindisfarne. Next year is going to be dedicated to reducing my ginormous stash by doing a lot of charity knitting and a few sweaters for myself, including some more summer-weight tops. I love seeing the patterns you choose and was happy to hear your shout-out to Fruity Knitting, another one of my favorite podcasts! Enjoy your break and see you in the New Year!
I had 30 FOs this year (so far) and the one I was most proud of was the Gimmstein, a bottom up colorwork dress, that I knit top down. It was a lot of work to do the conversion correctly but totally worth it.
A very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year! Enjoy! 🧶👏🏻❤️🎉🍽🎄🍾
I’m a few rows away from finishing #30 project for this year… I think I’ll finish at least 3 more that are close to being done by 2023. Great episode! Thank you and happy holidays!
Hello from a frequent watcher but never commenter. 😀 Thanks for sharing your crafting journey with us. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Hi, Julia!! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you too! Thanks for saying hello 💖
Happy Happy everything! Wishing you and yours all the best throughout the holiday season and many blessings in the new year! ❤️❤️
Happy holidays Kristen! See you in 2023!! 🖤🌷🖤
It was so nice to go back down memory lane and see all the 2022 knits again. The Miss May MKAL shawl is stunning! I am most proud of knitting my first vest.
Thank you, Roshelle! Your sweater vest turned out great - I especially love that jewel-tone purple. Looks like it will go with so much in your wardrobe! 🤗💜
Quality always wins over quantity, Kristin. All of your FOs are lovely. Enjoy your well deserved time off and I'll look forward to seeing what you've made or discovered over the holidays!
Thank you for the content this year, really enjoy your channel 😊 Have an enjoyable holiday x
Enjoyed your last video for 2022! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! 🎊 🎉
This year I knit my first pullover for the granddaughter and the rest of the knitting were scarves, socks, beanies and dish towels. Twenty six projects in total. Most proud to finally have some sock knitting under my belt. Next year I will be tackling more cardigans, sweaters and such. But before I begin new projects, I have a few WIP’s to complete or frog.
Enjoy your break because the time will pass quickly. Take good care Kristen.

I surprised myself and actually finished 16 (!) items this year. 5 pairs of socks, 2 sweaters, 2 cardigans, 4 tops and a shawl. And maybe, just maybe, I might finish another sweater I'm working on. And that while I also quilt, sew and embroider. Life is too short! I wish you a wonderful last two weeks of this year and see you back in 2023!
Love your aesthetics always, and truly enjoy your podcast. This year I was spending a lot of time at home and finished 26 projects, a mix of small and bigger ones. My favourite knits of this year are the Gloam Cardigan by Caitlin Hunter in dark brown Jacob DK wool from Westyorkshire spinners, and the sweater Sarkle by Kate Davis knit in single ply fingering wool + thread of mohair. I love all the patterns from Katie's collection SARK and look forward to knitting some more of these. Wishing you the best for the holidays and some lovely quality knitting time:>
I hadn't even thought to check my project count for the year. Apparently I finished 13 items, 7 of which were hats that were gifted. I *should* have 2 more finishes this year though, my advent socks, and I'm doing a test knit with a deadline of the 31st.
I wish you very Happy Holidays and a wonderful New Year!
Happy Holidays to you and yours! ❤️
I love your channel and your shop. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Beautiful miss May. All your makes are beautiful and I love the colors you used in your shawlography.
Love your sheep sweater! You did some amazing knitting this year. I am retired with lots of time to knit. I made 20 pairs socks, 6 children’s sweaters, 26 hats including several Alaska hats and ten fornicating deer, ten adult sweaters, 7 pairs of gnome earrings, 1 vertices unite, three scarves, 7 pairs of fingerless gloves and five dishcloths. Also made two skirts, one a Norah Gauguin. It does seem like a massive amount. Love your podcast. Thanks for doing it.
Is it wrong that I'm looking forward to retiring so I can grow up to be a knitter like you?? That's incredible!!
I crochet much faster than I knit which is still pretty slow. I've finished 26 items so far this year, knit and crochet with three items that were both. I made mostly garments including three sweaters, a vest, two skirts, several Summer Secret Tanks, three fingerless mitts, two pair of socks, two baby blanket sleepers, a baby blanket and an octopus. I would really like to post photographs of my makes on Ravelry but I haven't yet talked someone else into doing the camera work for me. Perhaps I'll make it a goal for next year.
Thank you for the return to all the 2022 knitting projects. This year for me was the return to knitting year. And I started with knitting the stash busting Stay Pull and that is finished. I did work on the Isabel Kraemer Dingley Dell with the Kim & Jonna KAL, it’s still a WIP that needs sleeves, and for me to finish the cast off. Another sweater that got worked on this Fall was the Sunday Brunch sweater by KIka. I am in Christmas knit mode and an Oslo by Petite Knit is done, a Classic ribbed hat by Purl Soho is over 50% done, and the other WIPs are 2 pairs of socks, a cowl and a hat. I have 7 days of knitting frenzy to complete as many of the holiday knits as possible, some I have a couple extra days for as the relatives will be here on the 27. Year end will be a time to finish the sweaters, and cast something new on.
Welcome back to knitting!! So many beautiful projects you worked on. And as for finishing Christmas knitting ... you've got this!!! 😄💪
I finished the Anyday sweater, Elton Cardigan, Pink Velvet, and Sheer V Sweater this year! I didn’t realize I had made so many. I also knit several shawls, hats and mitts for other people.
So many beautiful knits for 2022. This year I crocheted and knitted a variety of small and large projects but I am most proud of Mariechen. It pushed me to learn new skills and I am so pleased with the outcome. Now if I can learn how to weave in my ends better, it would be perfect 🤨😉🥰
Learning new knitting skills is always a great feeling! Eh, ends-schmends. They're like lingerie. No one knows they're there except you! 😂
I love your makes I’m going to need to make that mystery shawl!
Hi, hi 👋
Trying to recall my FO’s required quite the mental research😅.
1. Close by Kim Hargreaves, 2. Laurelie by Lisa Hannes, 3. 7 pairs of socks (guess I’m a sock knitter 🤷♀️), 4. A throw blanket inspired by the Chevron baby blanket from Espace Tricot. I’m proud of each project as I see myself grow in my knitting journey. I’m most proud of the blanket. I finished it in a month (sport weight yarn). The original blanket I was going to work up was going to use a bunch of pin loom squares to look like a plaid motif once sewn up…yeah that was a learning experience.
hi, hello!! Kudos for finishing so many beautiful projects!! Now I must look into pin loom squares because that sounds like a lot of fun! 😍
@@Voolenvine they can be a lot of fun and super quick to make.
Oh, I love all of the things you created this year. And love the reindeer antlers! I don’t have anything of distinction to add that I created this year. I am an extra slow Knitter unfortunately.🖤
I finished 2 Flax sweaters, a baby blanket, two hats, a small cowl, a shawl that I accidentally felted and want to cut into mittens now, 6 pairs of socks, 5 short sleeved sweaters (2 Etta, 1 peaccock tee, 1 Lovenote, 1 La Vie en Rose), and a stack of washcloths. Wow that's a lot!
Wooo!!! 😅 So sorry to hear about the felted shawl. That's happened to me in the past. I love the idea of making mittens out of them. Not all is lost! 😄
I never count up my projects but since you asked, I went back to ravelry and counted. 60 completed projects this year! And still knee deep in the xmas knitting so at least 4 more before Christmas. Didn't realize how many I was actually cranking out.
60+?!?! WOW!! You win knitting 2023!! 🤯😂 That's amazing!!
Ewe look very cute in that jumper 😉 wishing you a merry Christmas and in looking forward to the audit podcast next year!
Loved seeing all your makes again - oh, and don't worry about your zit; just "put some Windex on it!"
Lol
Happy Christmas and New Year!
Windex?! Is this a beauty hack I haven't heard of?? LOL
@@Voolenvinewatch the movie called My Big Fat Greek Wedding 😁
So proud of myself for making my first ever pair of socks back in January! Since then, I’ve made 5 more pairs.
Looking forward to 2023; my bf’s mom took me to a yarn shop a month ago and bought me a sweater’s quantity of a beautiful yarn. Waiting for the New Year to cast on my first sweater!
Happy holidays, Kristin! Can’t wait for more videos of yours in 2023 🎉😊
Look at you!! A sock knitting MACHINE! 😄 And what an awesome BF's Mom. Sweater knitting ... if you can knit socks, you've got this! 💪
Love your sweater! Thank you for sharing your year with us: looking forward to 2023 and good things.
whhhhhyyyyy do you do this to my knitting que? eh? 😂 I want a Diana sheep sweater 🤣🥰
Love your videos!
This year I've made my first ever pair of socks by following your free pattern. Thank you so much for it! Happy holidays!
Ahh! That makes me so happy to hear 💖 Happy Holidays to you, too!
Going through my FOs, I also knit 3 sweaters, one of which was my first cable project! I've knit a few pairs of socks, hats and stuffies too this year. It's actually surprising to see how many things I've made when I lay it out. Have a lovely winter break! Looking forward to the new content in the new year 😊
What a great mix of projects! And hurray for knitting your first cable project. Cables can be a lot of work but so worth the FO! And now, I imagine you're all set for winter. 🙌 Happy New Year!!
Best Wishes for the Festive Season Stay well xx
Duplicate stitch a black sheep with some black silk/mohair!
I am finishing up the Andalo sweater now, only 11/2in to go!!! I am going to make Princess Diana black sheep cowl instead sweater next!
Such a great idea if you don't want to knit the whole sweater!!! 🐑🖤
Happy holidays!!!
I’ve managed to knit up 20 pairs of socks this year.
20!! That's amazing!!! 🌟🧦🏆
I finished whooping .. 2 projects this year 🙈. But i started and got quite far with 6 other ...
Great F/O’s in 2022!Epic Projects. If you are a 1st timer - pls subscribe to this amazing channel. Like, share with your fellow makers. Kristen showcases more than just knitting, sewing, Crochet and quilting.. there’s yarn dying, spinning, Makeup & paper piecing and even candle making!!! Here’s to 50K in 2023. Merry Christmas Kristen and Dennis. 🎉🎄🎄👏👏
Kristin can you refer me to a pretty dk weight hat pattern? thanks so much julie
Ranunculus question. How did you determine which size to knit? I’m going to use gifted yarn from Austria, Ferner Wolle Merino 160, 100% superwash. Bust about 43”. Suggestions? Thanks so much
Please tell me you are going to duplicate stitch one black sheep.
That's such a great idea!! It might be a little tricky, though, since it's a woven jacquard 🤔
@@Voolenvine Ah, right - yes, just looked at it more closely. Is a jacquard duplicate stitch the black sheep of duplicate stitches? 😂I wonder if it can be done…
❤️
you can duplicate stich the black sheep ;-)
❤️
