i've read some graphic novels that i really liked but none of them made me feel like heartstopper did... the ones that come close to it are the tea dragon society and the magic fish. i also liked anya's ghost, laura dean keeps breaking up with me, fangs, chef's kiss, cheer up! love and pompoms and crema
I love single dad romances because I love seeing the character fall in love with the kid firs and then their parent after. There's something about it. Caught Up was one of my favorite books of that series.
omgsh I'm obsessed with the Windy City series. Caught Up was my favorite but I'm 50% through Play Along and it very well may be the best yet. Reckless is next for me!
you should read the lore olympus series!! its a graphic novel hades and persephone retelling and it is soooo good and I never thought I’d be into graphic novels!

This is more of a manga recommendation than a graphic novel, but I highly recommend The Girl from the Other Side manga! It's absolutely amazing, it's equally spooky and cute as well as sweet and the platonic relationship in it is so adorable. I would love to see you read it! I love your videos
no one in my family cares that I read so I'll just write it here. Yesterday I read my first book in 4 months (reading slump) and I binged it I loved it and I couldn't put it down. I love that it made me cry but still had a happy ending.

I completely agree with you on Reckless. Like it was just back & forth banter to the point where the poppy scene didn't hit as hard bc i was so used of it. Like I love what Kai says but like the book was only banter & pretty words so it didn't surprise me at all. I feel like Lauren threw banter in Reckless bc she knows we all love it but she didn't develop the plot enough. I know she said that Fearless is gonna be more chaotic but I even doubt it bc there were a lot of promises for Reckless as well. But we'll see 😅💗

I love Heartstopper! I read the first Serpent & Dove, but I never finished the series. You should finish the series that you only have one book left to read. That's so satisfying.
they aren't specifically graphic novels but there are a couple manga series i really recommend and i think they are pretty similar to graphic novels - Yona of the Dawn is a kind of slow-burn fantasy romance and A Sign of Affection is a romance about a college student with hearing loss. they are both really great but Yona has over 40 volumes so its a big commitment!
i just started the zodiac academy series and im already on book 3 it's soooo good!!! when it comes to series with me, i always have to read them back to back bc it gives me sm anxiety if ik i haven't completed a series lol. love the videos sara! 💜

Raina Telgemeier has amazing YA graphic novels, my favs are Sisters, Drama, and Guts. They remind me of Heartstopper in the way that they discuss more serious topics through a YA lens. Super fun plots with amazing art. Highly recommend!!!!
im not sure if you would like it but the amulet series by Kazu Kibuishi is really fun and the last book came out after like 5 years of waiting, so you wouldnt have to wait for that :)
If you want more graphic novels, a great romance series is Lore Olympus. It follows Hades and Persephone. There are 6 (i think) volumes out already but there is SO MUCH MORE that can be read online
I loved that I read it before watching this cause I got to enjoy it with you and watch the spoilers. So good! I loved the book so much, knowing that it’s YA and an in-between book in the series. However I agree with all your points and you’re right it’s basically just a love story with minor plot points. I have high hopes for the final book and thank you for getting me hooked on this series❤

Graphic novel recommendation: The Tea Dragon Society!! SO adorable!! It has the cutest baby dragons that grow different types of tea leaves on their horns. And the story is really cute and heart warming 💚
I haven't read Reckless yet as I'm in the middle of the A Discovery of Witches books! ❤ For a graphic novel, I highly recommend diving into manga! Yona of the Dawn is my all-time favourite. As well as Snow White With the Red Hair and the OG Fruits Basket 😍❤

Pacat and I also really loved The Girl from the Sea by Molly Knox Ostertag and The Prince and the Dressmaker by Jen Wang!! The drawing style on all the standalones are soooo cute and so satisfying to my eyes LOL!!

I think you might really like The Girl of Fire and Thorns series by Rae Carson if you like continuation between the books in the series. They pick up where the last left off, but they don’t end in massive cliffhangers (which I hate)
Whilst I haven’t finished the series (it may not actually be complete yet), I adore the manga series, Kubo Won’t Let Me be Invisible. I don’t believe it’s going to be too long so less worry as manga can go generate many volumes. Being in America, you have a better option of purchasing manga with the Crunchyroll website and other stores irl stocking it. Oh, Kubo follows Shirashi, an extremely socially awkward schoolboy who, like Addie LaRue, people forget about him. Unlike Addie he sometimes seems to actually be invisible to the other characters apart from Kubo, that is. It is so sweet and funny I think you may like it.
