I really do love the Japanese culture. I've been fortunate enough to have visited both the mainland and Ishigaki island and I must say even in the hustle and bustle of big mainland cities like Osaka and Kyoto the people there are super nice! Their English may be non-existent but if they sense you need help they will do their best using sign language or even google translate on their phones to get you on your way. Experiences with strangers like this leave a forever last memory. Japan has always been a place I would love to go and visit more.
Ettique over there is so nice that in U.K where I'm from if you want to give way or thank someone you flash your high beams, but in Japan they turn their head lights off to the side lights and then turn them back to dipped beams so that they ensure not to blind the other driver! How considerate is that!! I only learnt that when I hired a car and drove out at night.

Kanayama-san struck me as an awesome guy. I think his general S2K buying advice is spot on and will become more so as time goes by. I sometimes forget that Japan did not get the AP2v1 cars with the cable-based throttle. My favorite thing about the mat design you went with is that they actually cover the molded cross brace area, helping to prevent the excessive carpet wear that inevitably occurs there.
I love how he can nerd out about floor mats of all things. The attention to detail the Japanese have is insane in the best ways possible.
Also super friendly and clearly a major car guy that just wants to chill and talk car stuff all day. Best kind of person.

Albo I love your videos, but all I have to complain about is the camera shake! I'm not sure if you've tried using gimbals before but if you haven't you should give some a try.
Thanks! I’m sorry I have a gimball and a better camera but this was a spur of the moment shoot and I brought an older camera with me. It actually has good in built stabilization but it was turned off for some reason. Definitely will reduce the shakiness next time 🙏

I was just looking at interior mods and saw these type of style mats and you just released this lol. I might just get some myself
I love the mats. I want a set of black and red for my CR. Only a few problems, one being the price and the fact that I’d have to take a razor knife to them to make it contour and lay flat around the roll cage floor support bar. One of those problems with a full cage setup. Even the premium access mats or any mats I have to cut them.
Could you not take it some where to get it professionally cut and embroidered on the edge or sm like that?
@@Thenormalguy_real_one I bought the P2M floor mats and to have a leather pedal box reinforcement on the drivers side, and to cut and bind the passenger floor mat around the cut to accommodate the roll cage bar reenforcement was pretty expensive for someone to run an industrial sewing machine for 5-10 minutes. $150 on top of cost of the mats.

When I had a modified EP3, I couldn't wait to replace my new non Honda mats with new JDM Honda Type R mats! Maybe not as cool as ASMs but satisfying all the same.

Leave the front yellow tape on the chin spoiler. It would look really clean if you do yellow tape at the bottom of the side skirts and rear diffuser as well.

I'm sitting in my sim rig at the moment with checkered black and white eunos roadster limited edition mats only available on a special edition in 96 i think, don't know if they were made by Karo or not but are still in remarkably good condition for there age and have some great engrish on a cool metal badge ''Contemporary Automobile Advance And Traditional Sports Car ROADSTER EUNOS''

I hate those standard checkered floor mats here in Japan with a passion, mostly because they change over to them on cars who already have nice OEM floor mats.
I just bought my first car here in Japan yesterday, a Golf 6 GTI and what’s inside? Checkered floor mats. And what is missing? The original GTI floor mats… I could go crazy.
Ps: if anyone is saying I should have bought a Japanese Car then my answer is as simple as this: I looked at them , but I will not pay 20k for a Japanese “Sports” car with over 150-200k on the clock, an almost F’ed up interior and questionable exterior, when I was able to get the GTI for under 9grand with less than 24000km.
Keep the tape fs you put it on for a reason 😀👍🏼

Any good brands for 80s Toyota floor mats to order in from Japan? I have floor mats driving me crazy in my AW11, they slide around a ton, something that sits as long as your new mats would be awesome
Ended up going with CocoMats, pricy but wow are they great quality and look great, they typically are spec'd for Porsches and other Euro marques but they do custom sizing for just about everything now!
