This 'odd' era (named after the album) started so many kpop trends, from musical genre to fashion... after this song was released many male and female groups styled themselves with similar clothing, hairstyles and odd contact lenses (Jonghyun wore two different colours at the same time). SHINee always try to stay ahead of the trends so when this genre became a popular genre for kpop groups to do they had already moved on to something else. Their last two albums are master pieces (Odd and 1of1). They are also well respected for their live performances and ability to have great live vocals with hard dance routines.
Some basics: Shinee is 5 members, they debut in 2008. You only saw songs from 7 years ago because their company took down and re-uploaded all the old videos in better quality (still only 480p for the really old ones). They were super young when they debuted (ages 14-18), so now they are considered seniors, but aren't actually much older than some of the rookies. They are SM's experimental boy group, which means there is a lot of variety in their work. That's also probably why you felt they had anticipated the trend with this song - that's exactly what they try to do (sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't). Other than that, they are incredible live performers, so I recommend concert videos
SHINee debuted 10years ago and its amazing how relevant they still are , sure they're not the trend anymore like newer upraising groups who are at their peak while shinee's peak was a good 7-6years ago but the fandom is still very much strong , they debuted really young (the youngest being 14 and the oldest 18) , they're five members and theyre known now for their unique dynamics , all the five members are really close and consider each other as family ( being a long term jonghyun fan i still cant really call them four now ) , theyre all talented and have their own individual careers , Jonghyun & taemin as succesful solo artists , Onew ,minho and key all have acting careers with Key having a passion for fashion and design , he contributes in most of their stage outfits and concepts , they all write lyrics but Jonghyun is the main lyricist and producer , Taemin is known as the best dancer in the industry (he was literally picked by idols' choreographers and professional dancers) and theyre known for having a lot of artistic freedom and experiement a lot with their music & concepts which made them known as the trend setters group because theyre always ahead of trends , they're really such a unique group and once you get to know them there is no going back and i dont think its too late to enjoy them now , you should check out their live performances because that's where they shine the most , stages like excuse me miss , replay (from swc4) , Like a fire , Picasso are really good
Meryem Moussaid music is timeless. And I kind of lost cord up on that thing about trend setting. I said that it feels like it was ahead of its time. I definitely need to look more into them because I’ve also heard Taemin’s name a lot
SHINee has some amazing songs and I can say they are great performers. You should react their debut song “Replay”, classic and my opinion best debut song from a Kpop group. Their live performances of Evil, Everybody, Picasso and Sherlock is amazing. You should also react to their live performances of Symptoms and Odd Eye. Jonghyun was a beautiful human being. He was truly a poet and artist and will be remembered through his music. Rest in beloved peace Jonghyun, you did so well. We love you!!! ❤️🙏🏼 Note: SHINee had planned Japan Dome Concerts in February before Jonghyun had passed. They had decided, with Jonghyun’s mom’s encouragement to do the Dome Concerts. Shinee has a lot good songs, and since december i actually can not hear any of theirs songs bc it makes me sad... but if you want know about the work of Jonghyun solo, make a reaction of his song Crazy (Guilty Pleasure) they also are the KINGS of live performance... there are some song festival where the song crashes and they just keep singing dancing live crazy. I cant relate. I'd heard of Shinee but hadn't started listening to their music yet so I didn't feel his passing so acutely. However, the comments of those who loved him reminded me of how I felt when Chester Bennington died and I felt that pain VERY strongly. I've since dug very deeply into Shinee's catalog and now that they are my second favorite group, I feel the sadness of Jjong's passing and regret that THAT Shinee is now gone. I will never be able to hear my favorite song, "Please Don't Go", live. However, I'm still and will continue to be a fan of the new Shinee and I know they will stay true to their legacy and to Jonghyun's memory.

Fan of Shinee since they started, I love them, love Jonhyung, love the dramas where he wrote songs and sang songs for them, his lost is still painful, today May 2018 but I am looking forward to their comeback because I support the group and their 10th anniversary was something I was waiting in case they had a concert in the US, for a while I avoided all that had to do with the group because I couldn't deal with it, but now I am watching all the reactions... SHINee will have their comeback the final week of may. it's their tenth anniversary. So sad Jonghyun left but I wish he is happy now. He deserves it after all the sadness he felt. He was one of the top vocals, without being biased.
honestly this shouldn't be a throwback, it aint that old. do REAL throwbacks, like 90s - mid 2000s kpop. the golden era (best kpop years) were in 2008-2011 literally.
