Noticed a spider was on a bad spot on my plant. He is a neat looking spider, and I set him free after the video. I used some tweezers and pulled the leaves away. I am sure he appreciated the help! The plant is doing great and grows more traps.
I like spiders, and if anyone knows what kind it was please let me know.
The music was made by me on my phone. I know it's not the greatest, so feel free to turn your sound off. Doing what I can with limited resources... Hope you all enjoy!

brown recluse spiders have a violin shape on their back. and their all brown. no white. we have tons of them in this area. my cat actually got bit by one around Halloween and formed a hole in the skin on her back the size if a silver dollar. that was not a recluse. and also I think it was too big for the plant to digest imo. and I don't like spiders but I learned to cohabit with them because they we're here before me and will most likely be here long after me. beautiful plant tho. and a great attitude you have sir. also these comments we're pretty entertaining. 😄

the plant could have still eaten it the plants only eats the inside and leaves any hard parts it takes a week tho
Autumn Trulson that is a wolf spider though. they vary in color and size. I have that specific species in my region. there a welcome sight in bushes around homes due to there aggressive nature to more poisonous species of spiders. there also one of the most shy species of spider.
Havok 69 he zoomed in. that's not a large spider. consider venuses usually get no bigger than a quarter. that should help scale the spider. its body would be no bigger than a hot tomalli candy.
plus its a wolf spider. there usually smaller. go look around pine bushes in summer. those funnel webs with super quick spiders in them. either nurse or wolf spiders.

That is a Wolf spider in the Genus,' Rabidosa Rabida' or the Rabid Wolf spider. Nice lil Specimen there.
I did the same thing, I let a spider ago. When it was free it looked at me and said thank you with its front legs.
No it didn't lol, if it had to chance to attack you it would.

The Dotted Wolf Spider commonly mistaken for Grass Spiders or Hobo Spiders. Extremely aggressive.
It was not happy when it got out that's for sure. Very fast!!

I use VFT to clean spiders and other insects. Cleaner room, cleaner house, happy Venus.

I had a pet tarantula for years! I still have arachnophobia though! We figured out it was a rabid wolf spider. Apparently, they are beneficial insects so I'm glad I let it go.

The plant is ok. I clipped the trap off, but the plant grows more all the time. It's like clipping a leaf. I think forcing it open would have killed it anyways. Thanks is for watching!

You are correct. That is the spider I saw, and according to what I read it's a female. They are bigger than the males, and this one was definitely large. Here is a link for anyone interested. I doubt it. I have had hornets and beetles get free. They can actually chew holes in the leaves and get out. I was worried the spider would rot in there. I thought it was too much to be fully digested.

I did. The plant is ok though. That spider freaked me out so it was the easiest way for me to get it out.
@@NewbBeginnings if the spider freaked you out, why did you let it go? You should've let the fly trap eat, not cut ot open and starve it. It takes a while for them to open back up.

NewbBeginnings I SAY IF IT DIES...IT DOES IF LIVES...IT LIVES! Meaning if a child were to feed a rat to a snake it's fine the rat can either fight for its life and win or die and get eatin. In this situation it is a spider and a carnivores plant.

Plants need to eat and freeing it ruins the whole Venus fly trap idea. I think you should have let nature do its thing. Because you cant stand by the VFT waiting for a bug to get in then free it. Let it do what it needs to do because every bug has a predator. It's just life!

Personally, I would have just let the plant eat the spider. 2nd off I guarantee that but the spider did not "appreciate" it. You're attributing a human emotion to an arachnid.
