I can't describe how much I love that rendition of Bold As Love. Just unbelievable. It's perfect, and of course it's played on my favourite style of strat, Fiesta Red with a dark rosewood board.

That opening solo on the Tele wide range pups just ripped. As many great ones of yours as I've heard, I have never heard anything quite as impressive. There is a Chris Buck style coming through that's easily as recognisable as say a Hendrix or Gilmour or SRV. It's in all those grace notes, combination bends, double stops, pinch and tap harmonics, all thrown together in that "how the hell is he doing that?" way, and so casually done it looks easy (it isn't!)

Wow, Gretch, Filter'tron... I don't have any of those but just realised I have a gap in tonality, well quite a few to be honest.
Came to the gig in Chester and was truly amazed. Not since listening to SRV at Reading in 1983 have I been hooked on a guitar sound and ultimately Chris Buck. I haven't been blown away by anybody even a bit bluesy or soulful since SRV passed, there seems to be lots of imitators... I cannot give Joe Bonamassa the time of day even though he is an amazing player, he does nothing for me. Much the same with Phile Sayce although I am coming round to actually appreciating and listening, I knnow I am the loser there. Seeing you live showed me that rock or blues or soul guitar isn't a thing of thre past, it is alive. You are breathing life into guitar for the now and hopefully the next who will be inspired by your fire. You are a great man and the world needs great men.

I bought a parts mcaster with guitar fetish single coil ferrite gold foils. They sound amazing! Absolutely amazing. And then I looked them up, and found out they were less than $40 apiece, which blew my mind. They are noisy, and a bit microphonic, but they have an absolutely gorgeous, unique extended high end, that is somehow glittering, but not brittle. there is nothing like them. My favorite pick up of all is the P90, but these goldfoils are among the most unique of all, and have become another favorite.

... The Frying Pan was actually a "Hawaiian" lap/slide guitar. The original Charlie Christian pickups were RADIO ACTIVE. "Cobalt". They had to be "recharged" every couple of years. Bear in mind that this was before we knew about radiation poisoning. They were originally installed into Recording King guitars, and were the first comercially available guitar sold to the public in 1936-1940. Harry DeArmond designed the first pickups and founded, ROWE INDUSTRIES. His pickups are still used in Fenders, Gretsch, Guild, and many others and are commonly refered to as, Dynasonics/GOLD FOILS/single coil, and Filtertrons/Humbuckers. a lot of folks are mistakenly informed about Dynasonics being Humbuckers because of the 12 pole pieces. In actuality those extra "pole pieces" are height adjusters for the opposing pole pieces. Yes, you can adjust each pole piece to suit you own tastes........ROCK ON CHRIS BUCK!!!............

@peacefulruler1 I cannot speak to the "best" as my taste may be different than yours. I strongly suggest looking up Elliot Stent on RUclips. He does a fantastic demo of the Blue Silver Red set as well as the rainbow set. They're all amazing. I use the Blue Silver Red set in my Warmoth. I have a Korina body with a Goncalo Alves neck topped with Pau Ferro and stainless frets. The guitar is HEAVY, but sustains well thanks to the dive only Rail Tail trem by Floyd Rose. I use the Obsidian Wiring solderless Strat blender controls.

Nice to see a well-researched video full of useful information packed into a tight less than 20 minutes, plus some "show then tell" playing demos. The only caveats for me were using a guitar with CC pickups and not playing jazz (just a few jazzy chords like major 9s and minor 11s would have been good) and that the offsets are sidelined into the "other" category as they often are, which is a shame because Jaguar and Jazzmaster pickups have pretty unique tones that even other Fenders can't quite replicate.
