Unfortunately this drummer left the band. But dam he's fucking great. New drummer is also great. Too bad most recent album is not too good. For whatever reason they did less guitar.

I've noticed that with their two latest songs ('Spooners' and 'Platinum Girls'), they're really starting to play around with the wacky four-guitarists concept beyond just epic shredding. Lots of distinct, rippling effects - a push 'n pull sort of feel, you know? It's beautiful to listen to and see live in a studio environment like this.
God damn these guys are great. How is it that I just now discover them? The party's over! But what a great recording. So epic!
I saw this video in my "recommended for you" and clicked it, curious as to what a band called "Diarrhea Planet" would sound like. I am pleasantly surprised.

I like this. If only they didn't have a name that disgusts people when you ask if they've hear of them. "Hey, have you every heard of Diarrhea Planet? Pretty good."
Sometimes I wonder if these guys wouldn't be huge millionaire grammy winners if they were called something like "Surfer Planet" or even "Mild Tummy Ache Planet"
They have 1 good singer, the guy at the 15 minute mark, that should sing all the songs. The other singers are terrible, and really it ruins their good work. I hope for their sake, they figure this out. Seems more like playtime for them, so it's a commune & everybody gets to thrash, which the result isn't as good as when this guy sings lead. Most of the guitar playing is really good. All they need is to tighten things up, and only let that one guy sing lead, or at least have him do most of the leads, and the other guys only get to sing lead on one song. That would make it so much better! I mean, it's not like the others can't sing, but frankly, they shouldn't, the other guy who I pointed out, his phrasing & breathing is perfect, so you hear the words clearly, you get the song, and his range & pitch & tone & texture is beautiful. The others are only competent, not good enough, the whole song just falters as a result when the others sing. If they got that, this band would take off, they write interesting songs, and the musicianship is worth listening to.
This post would be a lot better if you used another two to four sentences to say the same things again.
i completely disagree. The songs your favorite singer does are my least favorite DP songs.

The one time I saw these guys live our beloved “Tim the soundguy,” (tbh idek if Tim worked that night) decided “fuck working four mics” and the band caught on and ended up only using the two mics that weren’t dead. Still was a great fucking show.

I've loved these guys since Aloha came out, it's crazy how different Spooners and Platinum Girls are. They've really grown up (well, as much as a band with diarrhea in their name could) and I love it

Does anyone know what he's doing when he holds his cell phone to the pickups of the guitar, and how it's done?
I don't know to much about it but i have messing around with my phone recording my guitar... anyways you play almost anything into you pick ups and it will play through the amp I remember seeing Kurt Cobain screaming into he pick ups among other people.
the pickups are like microphones on guitars so he just played the horn and put it on the pickups
got me a roll of tp to listen to some dp. \m/
