“New worlds to explore, doors open at our finger tips” I just realised than line is about the uncharted waters of the world you discover and “the darkness will leave my life transformed” is meant to talk about the changes you overcome as you progress and your mental and physical health deteriorate as you go deeper I also love how some of the lyrics give some backstory, you were a nobody who was ignored and went on the voyage to earn some fame, at least that’s what I assume

Such a bittersweet song. Ruined by the fact that the credits say "The submarine crew was never found." in both endings.
To be fair the point of the game's endings is to express that there is no escape and you will never survive, as the Living Infinite consumes all.
