Mine is too but it bought it 2010 A10 took out the 2070 super and using the built in so now my keyboard is more expensive. Took the Nvdia gpu out so I can play Slime Rancher and Grim Dawn without lag. These games run best on AMD vid card. Had that 2070 super for Doom Eternal and Borderlands 3 .

Using a heated box cutter is somehow simultaneously the most sci-fi and the most ghetto thing I've seen....
Heated metal is a pretty nice way of cutting a lot of stuff. I heated up some screws with a torch and screwed them into acrylic like it was nothing. No cracks or anything, it was great.

my suggestion for this is to use Parsec, i find it works wonderfully for remote gaming, even outside of the house about 2 cities away on a low power laptop. i haven't tried it with my raspi 4b yet, but considering the specs it should run pretty well

Great, I didn't know about the Steamlink for raspberry and overall the project looks great, BUT the Raspberry will eventually throttle due to temperature, being in an enclosed box without active cooling . So a small 5V fan should help a lot

I am a raspberry pi user. I recommend using the Ubuntu Mate as it runs very smoothly and you can use 4 desktops at the same time. Also software are easily available on the store of the system. And is having much better user interface. Software on Ubuntu are quite easily available on the web as compared to raspbian. And ya, you will find Firefox as the default browser. So make sure to install chromium on it for better performance

I've done something similar to this, I took an old 1080p HDMI monitor, had a thick picture frame made to fit over it minus the back, fitted a Pi ZeroW which displays a website that we can update from our phones for an interactive blackboard/family calendar/digital photo frame.

of course, that can be changed if it's rootable. if you're very lucky xda-developers already has a desktop linux port for it. if not, you can use linuxonandroid or similar app to install some desktop software, or sentio desktop to at least get a desktop UI with proper window manager

So, after thinking about this project for a while I have come to the conclusion that since a keyboard is necessary to use said "hidden" computer, why not just put the computer in the keybaord? I feel this is a superior option. It makes the hidden computer way more portable, and it can be used with any monitor or even a TV. Also, Dell, HP and Apple (and others) already make all in one displays that have a pc built in. This makes used premade options available that have more features and are way more powerful. Finally, one could just plug a compute stick into a display.
The kind of project I have in mind for an older monitor are making an arcade style retro gaming cabinet out of them, a DYI home projector, or mounting the LCD to a glass side panel and making a DIY version of the ibuypower snowblind.
Raspberry Pi actually manufactures the "Raspberry Pi 400". Which is essentially what you stated. As for being stealth, having the big logo on the keyboard is kind of a give away.

The installation process is NOT the same for all single board computers. What Linus did works for the Pi. It will not work for something that requires overwriting eMMC memory, like the Firefly AIO-3399J, or pretty much anything that uses a Rockchip processor. For these computers, you will need to consult the OEM and hope that the pre-made OEM image is adequate, because getting Mali drivers will be yet another pain if it is not.
I drop my jaw when I saw Linus complains about AArch64 and switch to ARM HF... Stop, get some help, stop!
Yeah, this had nothing to do with hardware or architecture. This is purely not stepping away from the default Rasbian os to literally any other Arm64 Linux port. The PI 3&4 are both AArch64, just like the ROCK pi. I think what he's confusing here is that Raspbian is only available in 32 bit ARMhf and not aarch64, because they wanted one Distro install that worked for every generation of the pi, AArch64 chips pretty much all backward compatible with armhf too. Hell, the rock pi and the Rpi both use the Armv8 and have Cortex-A72, the difference between their SOCs being the pi 's soc uses a 4 core Cortex-A72 and the rock uses a 2 core Cortex-A72 combined with a 4 core Cortex-A53 soc.

A much better fit would be a monitor with built-in USB hub that also have charging port since it will provide a constant power source for any 5V SOC board, and you could even wire a tiny power switch either in line, or to gpio pins to provide a graceful shutdown with a timer for non-graceful shutdown.
Release a compilation of Linus dropping hardware behind the scenes :D

thanks for the tip man I am going to do the same but instead of 2 wires for power I will put in a pie power converter inside the screen using the monitors power source or add a small 500mA, a 5V, 2.5A inside the monitors case/shell housing while adding custom ports and use a Wi-Fi bridge from a different pc

I love giving old devices new purpose to keep them out of landfill, here's a great use for an old computer;
Using Windows download a program called 'ContaCam' it's free to use and uses little resources so it runs great on outdated cpus, connect a few USB webcams and you've just got yourself a low cost or even free 24/7 surveillance recording system.
Use a laptop and now you've got a low power surveillance system with a few hours of battery back up in the event of ac loss, a professional system with that feature would cost a lot of money.
Not everyone has the option of embedding a gaming pc in there ceiling 😂😂

Pro tip - never exit big picture, instead - minimize it. At least this was the issue previously with the protocols steam used, they would disconnect after a certain fixed amount if there was no steam big picture running.

The only three things I would recommend:
1) Put the Raspberry Pi 4 on the back on the monitor. That makes it movie and you can put it on ANY monitor in the future.
2) Buy as passive cooling case! To get the most out of the Pi 4 , you'll want to over-clock it and cool it quietly.
3) Overclock the Raspberry Pi 4 so that apps run better - especially for video apps.
