Personally I would love to see your reaction tto their last album "I Burn", it also has this slower break up/love vibe and songs written by Yuqi and Minnie or "I Trust" which has only 2 songs beside "Oh my God" and "Lion" and "Oh my God - eng ver" . Soyeon and Miyeon released solo albums while Yuqi has 2 solo songs with MVs. Not sure about Minnie solos. Maybe reactions to 2 from each of them? Funny reality type would be "Secret folder", 4 episodes around 10 minutes long on 1theK channel on yt.

Also, Polaroid's pretty much known in the fandom as thee song about Soojin, their former member. As you saw in the lyrics, they're talking about how it was so hard back then (talking about 2021 when the issue broke out) and how the members had to deal with so much stuff, with Soojin never getting the chance to properly explain herself because Cube just kicked her out. Basically with the Polaroid which they used pretty often for taking pictures, is somehow their medium of preserving memories, of looking back to the happy times they had with Soojin.
With Escape, it's like the members were directly talking to Soojin and the fans as well. To console them from the hard times they've gone through last year.
You should check out ALL of their songs, and by all I mean B-Sides, OSTs, features, collabs, covers, etc. POLAROID and ESCAPE is targeted to SOOJIN, a former member of I-DLE (damn it hurts to say "former"). It's much sadder if you listen to it knowing their friendship. MY BAG is a flex. Soyeon indeed wrote those lyrics but each members tell their tales. ~~MINNIE said about her voice and money. She's from a known family of musicians in Thailand, thus having a natural dreamy voice and she's damn rich, kinda a noble at least. ~~YUQI spoke about her deep voice, and Bumblebee from Transformers. BBee is one of her favorite characters so she asked Soyeon to put it in the lyrics. ~~SHUHUA talks about her young skin, and Soyeon is so obsessed with her being the Snow White. She also declared she's the "boss baby" coz it's true. Though being the youngest, she speak up to haters and defends her unnies. ~~MIYEON is, well, a princess all in all. You should watch the concept video and choreo video of MY BAG For future IDLE lyric videos you'll check, I highly advise you check out other channels. ZETY FARHANI is a good channel and he/she got the correct singer. the other 2 that you got here for other songs got it wrong. It's understandable though if they are not Nevies. SHUHUA's lines we're altered in some Lyric vids, here it's ESCAPE. There's also this channel called ALYDLE that has some really good fanmade content (if you like that type of things!) There is a rlly „funny“ story about how Yuqi got her deep Voice. When Yuqi was younger, she was sick and was told, that she shouldn’t Talk… Yeah but we all know how Yuqi is and of course… she talked a lot 😂 bc of that her voice got deeper and first she was rlly shy about it.
Liar is my favourite song from the album. Yuqi said (on a broadcast, I think with minnie) that she wrote Liar when she was angry cause she heard from comments or somewhere (?) said that she had changed and she was not the way she used to be anymore. And Yuqi was angry cause she has always been the way she is but people just don't see that side of her. She refers the line "I am high price like a diamond shine. Why you think that I am a piece of glass" to this situation. She has always been a hidden gem but for people who accused that she had changed, they just don't know how precious she is. If you want to react to more Yuqi stuff, you can check out her solo work "A Page", it has almost been a year since the release and Yuqi appeared on Show Champion yesterday to perform her two single "Giant" and "Bonnie and Clyde", which was literally the first and only official stage performance she did in Korea. "like this song sounds like something you'd write for your best friend." i'm so happy that's the vibe you got from escape bc it perfectly encapsulates the relationship the idle girlies have with neverlands. for context, this song was written by minnie while she was thinking about neverlands, missing us during the forced hiatus the group had to take. ofc it was a tough time for both the members and the fans, but minnie wrote thing song as a way to comfort neverlands. i think it's one of my favorite songs from the album! Escape in all English would be on the top of the charts for ten weeks. It is a stunningly well done pop song! Yuqi and Minnie have impressed me on this comeback!
If you want a really good slow song by them listen to “Put It Straight” (nightmare version) and I definitely suggest watching the Queendom performance of it too. That performance killed me. I miss Soojin so much… don’t think I’ll ever be able to watch it again. I always cry so hard and now that we don’t have her anymore, I just can’t. 🥺
I agree that several of these tracks could be a title track, but I also think that Tomboy was the best choice. Not necessarily because of the song itself, but because of the message. It was a bold and belligerent statement about their identity and path forward after a difficult year where their future was uncertain. I think this was a better choice, in context, than a more feelsy song like the middle tracks or a more conceptual song like villain dies. That said, I would love to see a Villain Dies stage
