Hi Rob I LOVE centella and the associated compounds on my hyper sensitive, rosacea and eczema prone skin. One of the easiest ways for me to incorporate it is in toner form and the cosrx cica toner is a great pick - all the forms of centella alongside pycnogenal for an extra antioxidant boost. I find it very soothing/hydrating after cleansing and as it's a very watery toner should work for most people. Another favourite as a rescue remedy for days when my face is extra fiery red is the Benton centella goodbye redness sheet mask - a real hit of hydration and visible calming of redness unlike anything else I have tried (the gel in the same line doesn't work as well for me btw). I like the cosrx cica serum, but for the price prefer the toner form used with other calming/soothing products. I do use the LRP cicaplast (the baby version) for an either occlusive layer or as a mask in a thick layer when my rosacea is flaring. Using the toner everyday gives me that cica fix without seeking out serums etc and allows me to use other things in that step. The revolution cica product made my skin really irritated, so my advice is to patch test that one on super sensitive skin. Best wishes.
I was legit just about to do some research best cica products today as I love it so much! You read my mind rob! 😱 I recently started using the purito unscented centella serum and it’s helped with my rosacea!
Love the Cosrx centella water toner, klairs unscented toner and Peach Slices snail rescue toner. My skin is def more hydrated and calmer incorporating a cica based toner in my routine
Nearly all my products contain cica and I’m not going to lie, my skin is currently the best it’s ever been, not a single bump on my forehead and my acne on my chin is minimal 🥰🙏
My holy grail in the CICA-family is definately the balm from LaRochePosay along with their Cicaplast Gel, and the spf 50. I use the balm mostly in winter, or at night after using Tretinoin. It’s great for my dry skin, and I’ve used it for years - long before the centella asiatica was hyped in the skincare world. Glad there also are alternatives 🤩 Thanks for sharing! ❤️
Love my Purito Unscented Centella Serum. I mix it with Peptides in my Serum step and my skin loves that combo! Recently also discovered the toner from that line and it hydrates and soothes my skin really well.
you should try the Skin1004 Soothing Cream! it contains about 70% to 78% centella asiatica EXTRACT and it also contains Ceramides 😌 my oily, acne prone skin loves it
I use the Cosrx Centella products and like them very much. I use the Centella Aqua Soothing Ampoule after applying vitamin C as a buffer. I’m pleased to hear that it also helps the C work better. I also use the LRP Cicaplast when my skin is more irritated than normal. I’m still on the fence about it. I keep thinking there must be something better and for a better price, but when my skin barrier is upset I’m leery of trying something else. The Cosrx cream doesn’t seem to work as well for severe irritation. I’ll try what you’ve suggested.
I just finished the Soon Jung toner which is light, watery, very hydrating and very soothing. I used it during summer and it’s amazing and cooling on skin that’s seen the elements. Also very affordable!
@@MadAboutSkin most welcome, I love your work here 🤠 hi from New Zealand where the dollar sucks against all the main ones and paying international shipping is crippling, thanks to the local Korean supermarket 🙌 they have a handful of skincare brands at decent prices generally
Revolution does not sell that balm here in the US but I found two tubes with English packaging at Ross for 3.99 each and I’m in love with it. It’s like a thick mousse and it feels soooo nourishing on the skin.
Hi Rob, I use the revolution one and its great for buffering in my tret! I would also recommend the cica toner from revolution, it has green tea in it as well. I find this very soothing and it's on offer just now at just £3 and the bottle is huge! Beauty pie also do a cica cream called happy face, which is also very nice.
I started using a Centella serum with my Ascorbic Acid a couple weeks ago, and I really like the combo. Other than that I only really use it if my skin is upset with me... 🥰
@@MadAboutSkin I'm super excited to try the new water cream moisturizer from e.l.f.'s new blemish line. I noticed that it's got the actives, 4% niacinimide, salicylic acid, and Tranexamic Acid, etc... like the serum, but in gentler amounts and it's moisturizing. I just ordered it and it could take the place of multiple products, so could be a great option for us in America especially. It's silly how excited I become about skincare. 😆 Love you, you're the BEST!! 🥰
I love cica!! Right now I'm using Dr. Ceuracle's Cica gel, but I also want to try One Thing's Centella cream 😭 I feel like I'm late to the cica party 🥲
I have the One Thing Centella Cream and I like it more than their toner. The toner is an extremely high Centella concentration but it stings my super sensitive skin, whereas the cream doesn't.
@@dianaf6333 it's great to hear just before I was thinking of buying the toner/essence, but I ordered artemisia toner and I hope I like it, if I do I'm planning to buy centella cream and toner too. I can't know without trying them 😭
I use it everyday! In the IUNIK Centella Gel Moisturizer (just because I love the texture) and in my toner (because it's great at calming my acne, maskne, and any other irritation mostly from masks). When I over-exfoliate and my skin freaks out (mostly by giving me lots of tiny red/white pimples), centella toners have really helped to bring down that inflammation. I look at it as a supplementary step in my skincare -- not a high-impact active, but it helps to keep my skin from freaking out with masks and trying lots of new products.
