I did this mod, worked like a charm. The bike rides great, much better than it did. Removing the wiggle in the swingarm makes it feel like a “real bike” and less like a flexy toy bike. I used an Ebay retailer, Delrindepot-4, to order the bushings sized as @yeksun suggested. I couldn’t be happier. Yeksun gave me the specs of “OD = .905" , ID =.391, and they are 1.25" long. You will need to make 2 of them”. My new bushings fit perfectly. One of my old bushings (the left side) was very difficult to get out and did require a hydraulic press. Tricks with a big vice didn’t work. The other one knocked out with a punch and a few taps.
I think I saw in another of your videos when you installed a big bore kit you showed a pit bike manual. I'm wondering if the 125 Lifan valve clearance is in there. I saw somewhere else it was 3 to 5 thousandths. After many trys I ended up with 3 on both of them as I remember. Anyway if you still have the book I'd really like a cross reference because I'm not sure if I am actually dead on. When the motor warms up there is a slight tick that I'm not sure if it's normal, or not. I tried many many times with different settings, and think it's most likely normal. It just bugs the crap out of me not knowing for sure.
I saw your comment on @UCaLVex6W2FLFnSb6kz61XGg new video. Thanks for making this one. Did you make the bushings? I've got a lathe, but would rather be lazy. I recently bought a couple Champions for "the family", and I was adjusting the chains last weekend. When I was oiling them I had them on the stand with the back tire free wheeling in first gear. I noticed a lot of movement in both swing arms. It looked like there was a high side on the hub causing it, but it didn't make much sense. I wonder if It's a symptom of loose swing arm bushings. I'm definitely going to check. I haven't had them over 30 because I'm still breaking them in so I haven't really noticed any bouncing around.
My dad made them for me on his lathe. Make sure you ream the center hole of the bushing. its 10mm. Yours may be ok. I would feel it clunk when downshifting or when getting on the throttle quickly
Thanks for the video. I just picked up a Black Champion with 81 miles. I immediately felt the ass end wiggling abnormally. Sure enough this is something everyone needs to upgrade. I might order a Green one, apparently the guy in Cali is expecting a new shipment any day! Do you have a link for the proper bushing?

Yes. you may luck out and they slip right in or you could tap them in with a soft hammer or use a C clamp to press them in . Getting the old ones out could be done with a hammer and punch or chisel
I love that color I just ordered the same one. Could you tell me how you adjusted the shock what tool do you use I'm a heavier fellow heavier fellow okay I'm fat I said it.
@@yeksun hey friend, sorry, I didn't write my comment out well. I meant, are there gains to be had by upgrading any of the front suspension or linkage in the front, similar to how there were gains by upgrading the rear? I often wonder how close the geometry of the clone is to the original, as I see videos of the Icebear with the front seemingly wandering and it seems unstable and twitchy. I appreciate your response though, thanks!
@@raffitchakmakjian I did two things that reduced front end twitchiness for not much money. 1) New rear shocks. Get a 320mm adjustable preload shock. The OE shock is 335mm. Dropping the back a bit changes the geometry a little and it makes a huge difference with regard to high speed, on-road stability. It does NOT bottom out easily even with the slightly shorter shocks. 2) I changed the fork oil to 15w and added a spacer on top of the spring. The spacer was between .25” and .50”. Both of those mods with Delrin swingarm bushings has my Champion feeling good, stable and relatively safe into the mid 50mph range.

Yes , I bought it from Cajun maddogs. I would highly recommend them. When I received the bike it was missing the axle nut and the axle was damaged by no fault of anyone , it just happened during shipping. Cajun maddogs made it right. They shipped me out the replacement parts quickly , no problem. If I bought another one it would be from them. As a matter of fact ,that blue one is catching my eye. But then the swingarm bolt is pivoting on two eighth or sixteenth inch thick washers. I would rather it pivot on two inch thick nylon bushing for stability and structural soundness when I ride it around as much as I do.

An additional note: When ordering bushings you’ll need to know these bushings are shoulderless (no flange).
Where did you get the bushings at? Source? Supplier?
I also had a “loose” swing arm right out of the crate with mine. I tightened the swing arm bolt and that’s all it needed.
I tried that first but the bolt was already tight. I tightened it some more but it was still very wiggly

are their any gains to be had with the steering?
Yes . It doesnt feel like the back is moving around on you anymore while turning. It tracks better through turns.
