    Interesting comment about "you would need to know the track"... This is something I've never thought was possible, that is to not know the tracks I was mixing. I learned to mix on vinyl with simple 2-chennel mixers with simple EQs nothing fancy. As a DJ it was IMPERATIVE that I knew my tracks in order to introduce them at just the precise moments where bass is coming in or a breakdown is coming up, etc. I've never got into this live music creation and transitioning I am still learning it is all very fascinating. Thanks for your channel and your videos are great!

      Of course knowing your tracks is super important!
      I’m not a well versed DJ so I wouldn’t know how they just do it on the fly maybe without knowing a given track very well.

    I ended up getting a xone 96 instead at a comparable price - dual cue as well plus integrated soundcards so you can multitrack record on 6 channels plus the master and there are 2 additional inputs controlled by pots. More channels and more flexibility. Big af tho

    Liam, thank you for the always fun videos. And I bought MODEL 1.4! I would like you to tell me one thing, but it is a cable used for send return from model to effector, but the manual of MODEL 1.4 says TRS, but is there no problem with TS's LR connection? I would appreciate it if you could tell me because most effectors can't find the TRS-TS cable on the net with TS's LR connection.

      I'm really not sure on this one - maybe someone in my Discord will know - here's a link:

    Faders are nicer than knobs in that you can manipulate multiple faders at the same time easily.

    good content. i actually been trying to figure out a decent way to transition BUT with a Tascam Model 12. This Model 1.4 seems like a better FIT for my MAdness but... I already spend the coin. Still good content tho

    • @LiamKillen
      @LiamKillen 2 месяца назад

      Yeah the model 12 is more of a "do it all" mixer - whereas the model 1.4 is really geared towards being a performance mixer.

      of course you will pass as you don’t perform gigs, if you would be a professional artist doing regular gigs you would know that the summing of the sound sources is the most fundamental part of a performance and it has a huge impact on how audience perceive the performance but hey ignorance is a bless 🤦🏼‍♂️, by the way Liam i bought a rotary mixer all discrete circuitry point to point wiring 4 channel for 2500€ and every sound engineer in every venue i play is blown away by the quality and the audience gets no ear fatigued etc etc.
      Your way of doing things Liam is the professional way so don’t be influenced by amateurs

    I must disagree. At this price point you could use the pioneer v10 which is way way way better 😅 and please don’t say “but the mixer is analog” there is literally not a single analog device connected, everything is digital. Also you say the analog drive is so valuable what you forget is to make a gain match it’s natural that you think louder is better but in reality you loose a lot of headroom and when you play this setup live in a club or festival you will always sound weak compared to every other DJ who is using a mastered version.

      Yeah I heard that one’s awesome too and I get your point - a major advantage is the sound quality of using the 1.4 with your DAW. Pretty much everything that I record into my DAW I run through the model 1.4 which gives a certain warmth.
      Plus I get to perform my parts in, fully analog filters, analog drive ect - that’s a huge plus for someone who’s performing and producing - makes it even more hybrid.

    • @GlitchComputer
      @GlitchComputer 2 месяца назад

      Yeah but you're missing the point - the fact that it's analog and has that sound, is what makes it fun and attracts people to use it. I mean, it's fair to say if you're hitting the club circuit and festivals, this might not be the most efficient but I think from a production standpoint, sonically, you can't go wrong. It feels amazing to play and inspires you sculpt your sound a bit more. Just my two cents.

      it doesn't matter if it's playing music from digital audio players/effects, you arn't putting the music through yet another round of ADDA conversion. it's sound derives from summing in the analog domain, shaping with analog filters, the drive is adding analog harmonics.
