I am a Shriner and we have a unit with 6 of these old cars. They parade all summer long and it’s great fun. I am in the process of building a parade vehicle for this summer. If you are interested check out the assembly vids on you tube. Look at title HOT ROD PARADE. I have built this in my shop in my spare time. I am currently in episode #5 and will document the entire build to the end. Thanks I love your channel keep up the good work.
If those wheels are 16 inch, owner may want to consider trying to find 16 x 3 Schwinn Stingray Orange County Chopper bicycle rear tires, they do fit the wheels even though they are considerably wider than the 2 - 2.125 stock or regular bike tires.
Looking to build a half scale, 1929 C Cab truck. About 42” wide. Do you have any suggestions for a rack and pinion that would work for this application.
His initial thought was to simply swap engines, and just repair and paint everything else. Then, the mental gears started turning. Why not make it better, right?
No Mower Video 😭 but nice to see you back on the Y tube Doc ! Curious to see what y'all come up with . Nice that you can lend a hand .. you Canadians are to nice .. flame thrower 🔥 ?? Godspeed
Any information on the progress of the restoration? I picked up an identical kart today as the one in your video. I would love more information on what parts and such were used in this resto. Mine is in good condition but theres always room to improve! You by chance know the manufacturer of that kart? I can’t find anything out about it but thought it was way to cool not to buy! Thanks for any information you may be able to provide.
Nothing yet. The fella contacted me a couple months ago to let me know that he was getting back into the project, but nothing since. When something does happen, I'll definitely post it.
@@DocSprocket does the fella by chance know who the manufacturer is and what the model of this kart is? Thanks for the reply and I’m looking forward to the progress!
@@turbopower18 No. He had pretty much absolute zero info on it. Disappointing because I thought the wheels were cool as hell and I wanted to know who manufactured them.
@@DocSprocket gokartguru makes a reproduction Cast Aluminum wheel thats identical to the old plastic wheels. Hold your breath before you look them up though. They’re proud of them! You can buy car wheels cheaper. Almost $700 for a set of 4 😳
Cool project but I wasn’t exactly thrilled to here that you might be putting a clone on it. Those engines are alright but they are kinda overrated since everyone seems to be slapping those engines on everything. Why not use something like an old Briggs, Kohler, Tecumseh or anything else on it? I hardly see them used on anything anymore since these Honda clones and predator engines are being slapped on every project on the internet, it seems like.
@@DocSprocket Starter Generator. Might be the way to go if it is going to a kid. Children have a tendency to make mistakes and might accidentally hit the starter after the engine is running.
Very cool, love those wheels. The steering rack suits the style & vintage perfectly
That will be an awesome restomod, lucky lil grandkid !
Just awesome that you are helpin the guy out

Nice score brother! If that rack and pinion is a little too big I do have a smaller one that may suit better. 👍 Up on video
It appears about perfect, but I'll keep it in mind. Thank you.

I was curious as to what the rack and pinion steering came out of ? I never seen one like that.
These days all you can really ever do is resto-mod, but hey, that's most of the fun and at the same time make it unique.

I just picked one of these up to use in Shrine parades….the maker is Funder Wheels!
Very cool project. Has he made progress with the warmer weather?
That would be wicked with a diesel in there
I believe duramax makes a electric start 212, I plan on getting one for my gfs sears custom
Doc what happen to the turbos and smog pump and steering transaxles and 40.0 hp of Subaru
So hear me out. Diesel Weasel meets Shriner car with a VZ21 turbo. 😉🤔👍👍
Any update on the Shrine car?
I saw that thumbnail and immediately clicked
Me to see come had to go
That WAS fast!
Have you found a hit'n-mis to put in yet? (just seeding ideas ;)
Ya made my night
same
Entirely too cool of a build

Not my call. Guy wants a new engine, and insists on electric start. Limited options, there.
