More so that they don't really have any coherent strategy. They just have a theme and nothing more. Kwai's bonus really is irrelevant since if a large group of battlemasters get's within range they will obliterate the target anyway. Their main issue is getting close enough. Also Fai is very quality over quantity and you have to do a very large amount of micromanagement which kind of goes against the idea.
Zero Hour was rushed. I think the most objective sign of that is that only China has their super general finished. The GLA and USA actually have super generals in the code with portraits and names and even a few lines. Though no real scenario. They just ran out of time.

The Shockwave mod fixed some issues with particular generals but left others. One for infantry general is that you can't transport artillery units across water, and this especially becomes a problem against General Alexander. Would've been better if they made the Gattling APC amphibious so you could transport siege infantry inside it.

Kwai I always found obnoxious to fight against. Also I think he is one of the worst since his auto loader really doesn't do much. When a large number of Battlemasters get within range they will obliterate any target. Their main issue is their thin armor and short range which can cause them to become destroyed before they get into range. I actually think Tau has better battlemasters in that they are faster and his upgrade makes them not damage each other anymore.
@@TheOnlyDarkus Kwai really should have gotten a defensive upgrade. Fay is pretty strong though with the superhackers and super lotus can absolutely devastating if you opponent is distracted. The minigunners make him highly resistant to air attacks. Tau though kind of strong everywhere. His infantry are his weakest element and that's only cause they aren't better than vanilla. The only one who matches him in power I think is the superweapon general. Her ability take out aircraft and vehicles in pretty much one shot with her defenses and being able to buy a particle cannon for 2500 is just plain broken.
@@MrMarinus18 Fai is always nasty as his "man spam" tactic. Nevertheless, siege units will help too. Make sure Super Hackers keep away from the battlefield to keep the supplies flowing.
Autoloader essentially doesn't add that much DPS to the Battlemaster, but massively frontloads its damage output. A small group of AL Battlemasters can just outright *delete* things in a single quick salvo, minimising return fire.

Fun fact about when facing Kwai in the challenge mode. On any difficulty higher than easy, he'll build a second nuclear silo after some time. Only problem with this is that for some reason he'll build it right on top of the first one, if it was completed the game would crash thanks to having both nuke silos occupying the same space on the map, basically giving you a time limit on assaulting his base and destroying his nuke silos.

@@CommissarTommy22 That's why he has Isotope Stability

Loving the work put into these videos that's easy to follow and interesting
👍🏻
Love you stuff Jethild, its always good content and amazing quality can tell you put alot of work into it :)
The glow!! The wonderful glooow!!
- GENERAL TAO
The legend is back with another masterpiece
Woohoo!
I love the voice acting of general Kwai.
Please never stop making these videos
This is quality work! Great job man!
Great video per usual!
Man, i‘m so used to playing Shockwave, i forgot how lazy some stuff from the main game was….like the minigunner having profile with an Ak-47 (def. Not a Minigun) and the model just having some extra bayonetts stuck on the rifle to simulate multiple barrels!
They just ran out of time.
yeah the usa generals can't use tanks the usa is incapable of having a high level general use a tank some shit was clearly just not done
Also, the minigunner animation is exactly the same as the standard infantry one
God damn beautiful to see Command and Conquer get the love it deserves.
Found your channel yesterday and I can't stop watching
Addendum:
Funny how China's primary military bases are all named after the symbols of the Chinese zodiac... We got Rat(Kwai), Snake(Fai), Ox(Tao), and Tiger, or Tigress(Leang)... So where are the others?...
16:02 Best! Line! *EVER!* 🤣
19:32 "Hey, hey! Do you know how much that Nuke Silo costs!?"
It's just $4500 for you, build another!... Yeah that's right, it's a 10% discount for General Tao to build Nuke Silos...
Cheers!!! I never known that names are Chinese zodiacs!!!
@@markanthonyorine1699well no, but their bases do share their names with a member of the zodiac
Loving these lore and analysis videos! A ton of work went into these.
General shin fai is my favourite tbh i just spam a bunch of infantry and i absolutely love it
Keep it coming man. Loving this! :)
Yaya new Video! Absolutely lovin' the generals lore.
Thanks for your hardwork Jethild!
These videos always make my day and I also learn something new about the C&C games that I never noticed before!
Each of these Generals videos is such a great pleasure to watch! :)
I love how all of them are afraid by jarmen, the sniper really has a scary reputation
Also deadly.
He is pretty much the Simho Hayha (The deadly Finnish marksman from ww2) of the Generals universe
@@wazzzup2579 indeed he is. Indeed he is.
Again, fantastic work, can't wait for more.
I love fighting against Kwai the most because he is unable to build any artillery.
Amazing work jethild!
Every day you post a video is a great day!
General Kwai was the most fun on higher difficulty bcs of all the tanks battle in the middle of the field 😂
I think it would be cool if you made videos of the generals from the Shockwave mod. Only because they gain more from it, it's not really cannon, but would be cool to see. Especially the unique generals like Leang, Deathstrike and Ironside.
Isn't Leang the Boss general in the base game?
@@chloestarlightCh01 she is. If you beat like 6 or 7 other generals
The Shockwave mod fixed some issues with particular generals but left others.
One for infantry general is that you can't transport artillery units across water, and this especially becomes a problem against General Alexander. Would've been better if they made the Gattling APC amphibious so you could transport siege infantry inside it.
@@chloestarlightCh01 Leang iirc is the head of china's military and yeah she is the last boss in the challenge mode she doesn't have anything of her own tho but basically employee stuff from every faction
Fai: Are you ready to face my horde, General?
Me with some Pathfinders: Yes
Great video as always keep up the great work
The way you presented Super Hackers got me dying

Kwai I always found obnoxious to fight against. Also I think he is one of the worst since his auto loader really doesn't do much. When a large number of Battlemasters get within range they will obliterate any target. Their main issue is their thin armor and short range which can cause them to become destroyed before they get into range.
I actually think Tau has better battlemasters in that they are faster and his upgrade makes them not damage each other anymore.
True, Tao is even better than Kwai. Of course Kwai doesn't need siege units.
@@magni5648 A small number though usually get's obliterated before they get within range.
Love it
Keep up the good work❤️
Not going to lie I truly don't know why your channel all of a sudden popped up on my feed, But I must say I love your content and you have officially got me back into the mood of command and conquer :]
General Tsing Shi Tao sounds like a Child of Atom who found himself in the wrong game.
These videos are amazing. This game is so nostalgic for me and still holds up.
At last, new lore vid!
Still wish there were missions in ZH towards the end of the campaign that brought in each or all 3 of the faction generals as support commanders, like a cross between RA3 and/or Kane's Wrath campaigns. Just imagine a grudge match between USA & China with townes and alexander defending a U.S. base from an assault by kwai and Tao, with primary control given to the player of granger or Fei with a surprise attack by all 3 of the GLA Generals at intermittent times throughout the mission. Pure lunacy and oh so epic af...
Can't wait to see USA Generals overview. I think I just made the right decision to subscribe to this channel. Keep up the good work 👍
Western Alliance in Germany. Was it really USA as faction in the US?
@@bertibenemoth5356 The US and the USA are the same my friend
Can’t believe I missed this video! Anywho! My favorite is Chinese faction and overall favorite pick is Nuclear General. Fast tanks right at the start. Nuclear MiG upgrade that basically lets you bomb entire vehicle and infantry battalions, almost as effective as the Super Weapons Bomber.
Feels like 10°c for the first time in an age.
New girlfriend is complimenting me on my spring weather drip.
Just grabbed Wendy's.
On my walk home.
RUclips notification.
Jethild uploaded a general video on China.
Hell yeah boys.
What an interesting set of videos. You make China sound like an interesting rather than fictional county.
I can't wait for Lin's video
Fun fact about when facing Kwai in the challenge mode. On any difficulty higher than easy, he'll build a second nuclear silo after some time. Only problem with this is that for some reason he'll build it right on top of the first one, if it was completed the game would crash thanks to having both nuke silos occupying the same space on the map, basically giving you a time limit on assaulting his base and destroying his nuke silos.
I feel like China could’ve maybe had one more general for good measure. Like… Maybe one who specialized in Flame Based weaponry. Still pretty fun. I will say that I am also excited to see ya do the Americans (whenever ya get around to it of course).
Artillery General!
I’m pretty sure there’s a Mod for this which also has some sort of USA Armor General
@@giygas9305 in other version the USA tank general is called Assault General and have the ability to build M1 Abrams
Dude, love your videos
Nice Video. I always enjoy watching Videogame Lore videos . Could you please mention deathstrike and Ironside ( The Cutted Boss Generals for GLA and USA) in your Video about leang.
You are doing great, waiting for USA parts too
Thanks for this. This right here is my childhood.
Huh, so that's where Xiurong Wu's voice from Mental Omega came from. Using Shin Fai's voice clips.
By the time this game is released. All Chinese Generals used either GR or Wades Giles romanizations and not Hanyu Pinyin. Sure this game is aim to sell in ROC and it might have been banned in PRC.
keep up the good work ^^
Good memories of challenges from my childhood heh.

Thats Nuke from CSGO LOL

I absolutely hate that they never completed the infantry challenge campaign
thank EA and well lets be fair the game engine is poop
A new video. China has been generous!
You forgot to mention the two nuke trucks in the village of Tao's stronghold. If you are a gla you can make terrorists enter them and make them explode in his base causing alot of damage
Ohh I never knew!
Como em todos os jogos de estrategia que eu jogo eu adoro jogar com divisões blindadas então...
Sou um árduo dicipulo do general Ta Hun Kwai...
E nem perco meu tempo tentando construir tanques pequenos...
Me defendo acumulando recursos e na hora "H"...
Lanço minhas infindáveis colunas de Emperor Tanks...
Lanço as dezenas e dezenas...
Uma corrente infindável de destruição blindada...
Simplesmente poético e... BRUTAL!!
I'm just imagining hearing Shin Fei off in the distance screaming "NUCLEAR MISSILE APPROCHING! FLEE!" He reminds me of a Unggoy
Tao was the most "complete" general of China in this game. It basicly had everything the base version had and nuclear power to boot.
Another epic video. Yet, I'm still waiting for overview of US Forces and US Generals (since I usually play as General Townes).
This video gave me +15 social credit
I love how fai reacts to a nuke being launched I like to think that he was traumatized by Tao
I loved the Tactical Nuke MiGs and Nuke Helix ♥️
he forgot to mention that he can get a the truck with the nuke when capturing the refinery in general tao's village.
I assume your talking about the dump truck carrying the nuke device next to the refinery? Capturing the refinery does not seem to do what you described.
@@Jethild you can apparently claim it when playing GLA.
Now I imagine doing mods (that has a wiki that is for information) for CnC ZH, like ROTR and Contra.
Contra is basically one massive mod full of unrealistic stuff added to the vanilla generals of the three factions, but very cool.
I've never clicked so fast for a video
I always played Shockwave mod just to see the complete Zero Hour Vanilla removed contents.
Every Generals have unique units and base structures.
Great Video
Anvil was never i challenge nor you do hear his voice like this
the Vehicle right next to the Oil Refinery in General Tao's map has nuclear bomb, if you use it by using GLA terrorist it will explode like nuclear missile
Appreciate you mentioning that bit of info as I never knew about that. Someone else had made the same comment, but didn't specifically mention that you had to use a GLA terrorist to acquire the truck.
A tactical nuclear car bomb...
Dayum, terrorists these days are crazy...
*laughs in Dr. Thrax*
*also laughs at various infantry toxin death sounds while spraying countless more infantry with anthrax gamma*
The funny thing about "anvil" Shin Fai, is that you couldn't do an infantry rush the way could as the basic China general. He also failed hard against General Thrax.
Get your "anything that has a microchip in it" while you can, Pacific War 2 Sino boogaloo incoming.
1:56 the “Taiwan Conflict”. So it appears that in this version of the world the CCP has invaded and annexed both Hong Kong and Taiwan. I wonder why China decided to ban this game in their boarders, I thought that they loved it when people denied the independence of those two.
Yay! New Lore!
The nuke general is basically dr thrax but with has a good looking glowing to him
I always like being able to make enough tanks to flatten anything in my wake.
If you install Shockwave. you gain acsess to play as ling. She is a artillery specialist She is not the final commander you face off with in the shockwave mod.
This lore is very useful of yours thanks for the tips i really dont know what does 3 general but thx
