A tachometer AND an odometer trip meter? Well la ti dah! Aren't you special? 🙂
I don't drive my Hijet pickup on the highway. Today I bought the components to reupholster the seats. I'll be making the seat bottoms three inches thick. Maybe after that, I'd be willing to take the Hijet on a long trip on secondary roads. I also bought the components to add heated seats in my Hijet. Well la ti dah! Aren't I special? 🙂
I had a VW bus and VW camper van in the 80s. I'd love to have a 4WD kei van, although I've been contemplating making a drop-in camper for my kei truck. See Olympic Overland and Mike Festiva for details.

I imported my Hijet mini truck. It's a pain. It's probably worth the $3000 to have someone import it and register it for you. The process is tedious and nearly impossible for a first timer to get right, even if you have an online import broker. There is also a long delay. It was three months after I bought mine before it showed up at the US port. I made the 21 hour round trip drive to get it. It had a blown clutch so I waited six weeks for parts from Japan. It was another couple of weeks before the mechanic installed the clutch so it was almost six months before I was driving my truck. It's awesome now, but getting it was a hassle and not for the impatient.
