I first heard this track on Dave Seaman's Renaissance Masters Series, in 2000 or 2001. Even at the time, I wondered how the masses seemed to ignore the real innovation, beauty and originality over the corporate driven derivative trance/house that was being played on the radio. Quarter of a century later, I wonder how dance music has become so banal (with a few exceptions). Occasionally, my friends' children here tunes that I'm playing from my era, or quality music from contemporary labels and djs, and they're hooked. There is hope yet.
This was a standout tune for me back in the day. As a clubber and a DJ. It was a joy to hear and a joy to drop into a set. It tried something a little different and has aged really well. The production is absolutely stunning.
hey there..i am the copyright holder along with MM but love that you've got it here for people to enjoy. I will be slowly uploading all my work to my channel soon..this and all my new songs are on my Bandcamp and SoundCloud accounts
Dear Sophie, I'd like to let you know that this is a true masterpiece. Your beautiful voice makes it really unique. So all I can say is thank You for this experience!
The first disc was always a journey I never tired of but without your track it would of never been complete. I love how the crescendo's keep building again and again + that beautiful piano/synth fade. (XX SPINE TINGLING CLASSIC XX)
They actually adapted this from an English Hymn by John Crum, circa 1920. We sing this in our church during Easter. Here are the real lyrics: 1 Now the green blade riseth, from the buried grain, Wheat that in dark earth many days has lain; Love lives again, that with the dead has been: Love is come again like wheat that springeth green. 2 In the grave they laid Him, Love who had been slain, Thinking that He never would awake again, Laid in the earth like grain that sleeps unseen: Love is come again like wheat that springeth green. 3 Forth He came at Easter, like the risen grain, Jesus who for three days in the grave had lain; Quick from the dead the Risen One is seen: Love is come again like wheat that springeth green. 4 When our hearts are wintry, grieving, or in pain, Jesus' touch can call us back to life again, Fields of our hearts that dead and bare have been: Love is come again like wheat that springeth green. The Original Mix is good, but I always preferred the BIR Mix
Almost a year ago to the day I extricated myself from a verbally and physically abusive relationship. I've since met a wonderful woman, with whom I want to spend the rest of my life. Whenever I hear this track it really rings home for me because, indeed... "Love has come again". Thank you so much, Sophie!
I dumped this chic who was addicted to benzos and alcohol 2 years ago. Now I’m laying out in the sun catching rays listening to this. I’ll find a new woman someday
Now the great blade riseth, from the buried grain Wheat that in the dark earth, many days have flain Love lives again, that with the dead has been Love has come again, like wheat that springeth green And I can see again, the fire of love And its crying Again, it's like a bird tries again And its funny how, after all the loss, love is here again Love has come again, like wheat that springeth green Now the great blade riseth, from the buried grain Wheat that in the dark earth, many days have flain Love lives again, that with the dead has been Love has come again, like wheat that springeth green And I can see again, the fire of love And its crying Again, it's like a bird tries/thrives again And its funny how, after all the loss, love is here again Love has come again, like wheat that springeth green Now the great blade riseth, from the buried grain Wheat thatin the dark earth, many days have flain Love lives again, that with the dead has been Love has come again, like wheat that springeth green And I can see again, the fire of love And its crying again, its like a ?wait? Again And its funny how, after all we lose, love is here again Love has come again, like wheat that springeth green And its green again, its if I reign again Its green again, it's like? Trees again And its here, after all we lose, yet again, love has come again Love has come again, like wheat that springeth green Love has come again, like wheat that springeth green Love has come again, like wheat that springeth green I can see again.
here are the correct lyrics:) many days hath lain...and i can see again, but for how long, and its green again, it's soft like rain again, and it's funny how after all of this, i want you again, love has come again....ect... it's green again, it's like the fir trees again
I love those renaissance paintings covers so much. It adds something mystical and ancient to the music. Best example in my opinion is the Holy Mary cover for Age of Love - The Age of Love... :)
Funny how this song popped into my head this morning after our initial brief interaction... Is this the start of something? Or am I just a spaz hopeless romantic?

Somethings are best kept underground. TV and Radio are for the ignorant masses!
Who is listening to this in 2025?
Holy shit balls. Proper like.

😉
This track makes me feel hope, like a Renaissance after a long Deep night.
Whoever is in charge of this RUclips channel... You are a legend
Very underrated one, one of the best vocal tunes
One of the best, vocal or otherwise. The production on this track is some of the best I've ever heard. Then and now.
I concur entirely! 👍🏻

Underrated. When that melody kicks in at 2:54, I'm in tears. Utterly brilliant.

Sencillamente, pelos de punta quien me entienda sabe de lo que hablo 🔥
All about Moraes Wah Dub for me. Proper stripped down techy prog house.
Reached its peak around 1998 - 2001. Then fell off a cliff alas.
