I drove over 20 hours to find this diamond ring! Help me blow up the video! (UPDATE: I contacted the owner and asked if she wanted her ring back and she declined. I told her she can have it back at anytime if she changes her mind. I just wanted to make a cool video. She thought it was neat. Noticed a few negative comments below, but I'm always trying to do the right thing guys. Please keep that in mind

You have no obligation to donate that ring to anybody. You did the right thing and got into contact with the previous owner and they said they didn’t want it. Once they said they didn’t want it then it’s fair game. Do what you want with it. It’s literally your property now.
I don't understand the negative comments. I honestly think what you attempted was extremely kind (and really impressive). People do things based on emotion that they later regret (including cheating). 22 years is a very long time. There's love there under her anger, I would assume.
I'd hold onto it for a year (at least 6 mos) to see if she changes her mind and contacts you. Or the husband does. After that, maybe donate the money to an organization that teaches underprivileged kids snorkeling/scuba or about taking care of our environment since those are things you're passionate about. Right now, nurses are risking their own lives everyday, they don't get to work form home. They clock 12 hour shifts and care for so many of us and our loved ones. All they asked for in return is for us to stay at home, do more and sell the ring, use all of the money to buy pizzas and make a video delivering the pizza to your local hospital.
