I am 77, a tamilian, born brought up in Karnataka. Hindi songs are so melodious, the old ones. Tamil songs and kannada songs are equally melodious. Some parallel Tamil Ullangal onragi thullum...Hindi Yeh vaada Karo Chand ke saamne..Same raaga both are lovely.

❤️🌹🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🌹
I am a tamilian. I heard this song about 50 years back and fell in love with this melody. Still in my 70s it gives some sort of peace of mind and goosebumps.
Cannot internalize her passing yet. Lata ji was always part of our ethos/consciousness, as her career began more or less at the same time as Independent India. Even as children our earliest memories are sounds and not visuals and so these songs which were playing in our homes and which helped put us to sleep made us believe that Lata ji had been around since the beginning of time. It's hard to imagine a world without her going forward. My heart feels so heavy and I feel a part of me has died.
She was awarded filmfare award for this song. When she was requested to sing this song again during the award function, she was unable to sing this song again. Such was her emotion during her singing this song the first time. She will always live as long as there are Hindi old song lovers.
this must be Lataji at her absolute best.. what a song... im completely spellbound...no words to describe my feelings aaja re pardesi still echoes in my ears long after i heard it.. truly magical ❤❤

Lata Mangeshkar, with her mellifluous voice, soothing and captivating singing and exquisite renditions enthralled music lovers over the last seven decades. Lata's haunting melodies and timeless classics have given tremendous pleasure to my heart, mind and soul. After all these years of listening I still cannot stop playing those songs and hearing them over and over, and the thirst remains unquenched. No wonder Lata is referred to as The Nightingale of India. Lata Mangeshkar has ruled the hearts of all music lovers with her beautiful voice, melodious songs, and exquisite renditions. Listening to Lata Mangeshkar's songs gives one the feeling of spending time on the banks of the river and watching the magic river water flow --- smooth, gentle and serene. The enchanting voice of Lata Mangeshkar has produced some timeless classics, captivated the connoisseurs of music, has given lots of pleasure to the body, mind and soul, and enhanced our lives with nostalgia and sentimentality. I just cannot believe that the person who stamped her indelible imprint on me with her renditions has left this world. I wonder if there is any music lover who would not get this sentimental feeling. Lata Mangeshkar's death was to me like the clanging bell of a departing train. It was like the deep hoot of a ship leaving the shore. We are forced to reconcile to the idea that she is no more. But Lata lives on with her songs.........
What a rendition, my friend, you must be a poet of some sort. I just can't help but read your comment a few more times. You're a genius in your on world, kudos.
Salil Chowdhury’s offbeat tunes have always been leaving music lovers in astonishment. With his inventive and innovative approach, he experimented a lot and composed mind blowing classical tunes. He indisputably was a class apart in terms of quality. The mellisonant association between Salilji and Lataji was an unmatched alliance of two musical masterminds who were perfectly in tune with each other. Salilji created magic in Aaja Re Pardesi without heavy orchestration, just with the help of his distinct touches. The song is simply outstanding in terms of everything - picturisation (look at it keeping in mind the technology that was available six decades ago), composition studded with Salilda’s distinct touches, lyrics effectively expressing the pain of a perpetual wait coupled with the perseverant hope; and last but certainly not the least, Lataji’s spellbinding and inimitable rendition. Upon Lataji’s suggestion, Salilda began the antara of this song with Pancham; and it added an appealing touch to this ethereal song. The song mainly based on Raag Bageshri has always remained in the list of Lataji’s personal favourites and has not lost even a bit of its appeal even after six decades.

I completed my post graduation from Jabalpur and whenever I got the chance to have off from my routine classes, I used to go to Bhedaghat, the location where this song was shot. It was such a pleasurable experience for me. And to this location, Lata Mangeshkar voice has added more beauty to this evergreen and haunting melody.

I heard this song 65 years ago in 1958 in Star theatre in Madras during an excursion from our college in Trivandrum. Didnt understand the dialogues ( I was a pre degree student) but almost all the songs got embedded in my mind and still fresh in my memories whch as a doctor still baffles me. It was mesmerising. (The old Star theatre may be looking down at Chennai from the skies).

Fantastic for everything - movie, songs, actors and photography. It is my childhood nostalgia, still as romantic as ever. Great Lata Mangeshkar is unparallel, and so does Salil Chowdhury.

Salil Chaudhari composed this brilliant song in raag BAAGESHRI...an utterly beautiful raag in Hindustani classical music. The song in Lata's mesmerising soprano has fascinated generations after generations and withstood the test of time. 😊
The ever green songs of 1950's and 60's had given lot of soothing effect to my mind and soul during my teenage and still is a major past time finding pleasure hearing those ever green melodies. Thanks for preserving all these precious songs for generations to follow.
So true I remember I used to come back from school and these songs were either playing on the radio or on tv or at night when mom used to watch old songs I was still a kid then
@@dipali881 my uncle was a radio announcer and I grew up listening to only classic old songs, u know Mohammed Rafi saab, Kishore Kumar saab etc so it really hurts that these people aren’t here anymore and now this Gen Z is growing up listening to such crappy songs I wonder how will they remember their childhood 🙄
Jab main chhota tha,tab papa aise songs sunte thye,is song ko sun kar laga jaise dobara bachpan mein pahunch gaya ,aur papa mujhe godh mein uthakar ghuma rahe hain.miss u papa😢
Can’t express in words how this song & it’s music moves me! It’s irreplaceable food for the soul in an era where society and the world at large have become so vulgar and heartless!

Breathtaking song with the elusive haunting melody that captivates innocence and bewitching charm of typical rural backdrop of Indian countryside in midst 40s.....
A female singer from Kerala who, was famous for singing this song, went to Gulf countries in the 80s as part of a team and, met with a road accident. Lost her life. Her both eyeballs came out from her skull (reportedly) Still alive in memories.
Vyjayanthimala is during all her artistic life and thereabouts at evermore a great woman, she can’t be to forgotten and must be proud of her. She is since her beginning an icon off beauty world, this with its natural inner characteristics of tempting femininity. The most creative dancing-girl with fatal attraction ever...! She is incredibly beautiful and excels at playing the roles with her effective body movements and the irresistible winks, charming with her magnetics seductive gestures that take the breath away. Her intense femininity that knows no bounds or mercy never can be ignored. The most attractive actress in several languages in the history of India’s cinema ever...! She is Vyjayanthimala, no one else.
This song back so much memories when my dad was alive, he always love to listen to these music..now I'm listening and enjoying it in 16 Jan 2020 what a wonderful memories.
Ah, what a melody that lingers across time! This song, a gem from Hindi cinema, found a warm embrace in Tamil Nadu thanks to the magic of the Sri Lankan Broadcasting Corporation's Tamil Service. Back in the golden days of the 1970s, between 2pm and 2.30pm daily, a wave of Hindi film music would wash over the airwaves, captivating hearts across the Palk Strait. This particular song became a cherished companion for those listening ears. It was played so often, yet never lost its charm. Like a familiar friend, it weaved itself into the fabric of their lives. Even after five decades, its melody continues to resonate, a testament to the enduring power of music to transcend borders and languages.12.04.2024

A female singer from Kerala who, was famous for singing this song, went to Gulf countries in the 80s as part of a team and, met with a road accident. Lost her life. Her both eyeballs came out from her skull (reportedly) Still alive in memories.

Hello friend how
Ah, what a melody that lingers across time!
