Colonel, if you read the _whole_ screen when looking at the Market Crier you would have seen, on the left side at the bottom, an "occupation" section that describes what she does. Also, there's grain just south of Atlanta, which it wants. :-)
Glad to see you playing this game, hoping to see more of it soon. In my opinion it's not transport fever and not just because it's only train and no other transport also because it's more focused on the tycoon aspect than the designing of the rail system and such, they're complementary and I would gladly watch both series.
I played Railway Tycoon like crazy 30+years ago on a 286 or 386 computer. Think the install size on the hard drive was a mere 20mb or so and took like 5 minutes to load up. Was the funnest game in it's time. Couldn't believe it when as a middle aged guy came across this newer modern day version railway empire. I'm addicted again and love it. Playing it on my PS4 console. Just wish PS4 had as many DLC as PC version. Hopefully in time.
Hi Colonel. Two things - first you bought a conductor but didn't assign him to a train, he's sitting with his feet up in a station probably. Second you don't have to do the objectives in sequence, you have one further down to deliver grain to Baltimore, you may as well build a line to there and then start delivery asap.
I have long been a fan of transport/builder/rail games. This hands down has to be the best release in the genre since railroad tycoon all those years ago. Yes, there can always be improvements. For me, the characters, and their constant blabbering is annoying, that said this is a brilliant game. Thank you again Kalypso!!!
Colonel You can use the “center train” instead of “ride along”. Then zoom in, adjust the camera voila.... you can see the engine while riding along And the description of what bonus each application gives you is on the panel on the left. PS: Hope you do more than 10 episodes 😁
Melanie, on the left it noted, will Promote the possibilities of your trains and increases mail or passenger volume by 50% in your cities over several weeks (in this case I am guessing 6 from the vague “duration of task” comment).
that moment you redownload a game from steam, look up who you watched play it, then realize it was also the first series you watched on that persons channel... my memory sucks
There can be maximum of 2 stations per city/town you better build second stations if you don't want your competitors to come up in your towns build a station and steal your passengers and stocks and also you can buy the brewery in Atlanta for some extra cash if you feel like it ! You can also buy a farm if you feel like it and have secure money maker! :P
Anyone know if this is available as a digital download for PS4? Supposed to be available today 1-30-2018 in the U.S. but i have not seen anything on the PS store yet. Thanks for the series!
Omg, the Colonel is back playing REAL games!!! :) Seriously though, good to see you again and thank God I can stop watching the cheap pretenders to the Failure throne!
COLONEL IF EVER POSSIBLE PLEASE DO SOMETHING WITH GRAND JUNCTION. PLEASE.we were and are such a big stepping stone between east of the Rockies and the west
Now the question has to be: Thinking WAAAY back Colonel (Cmon, I know you can do it :) ) to when you did your first transport Fever video, comparing what you did here to what you did back then, which game do you think you prefer??
THE AI DO CHEAT AND IT IS THE ONLY FAILURE OF THE GAME ,apart from a few bugs that freeze the game. Its like railroad tycoon but a lot more bugs( i still play RT3), i just brought the game , i quite like it , needs work though , only 2 tracks for bridges ,absolute rubbish, only 4 terminal stations ,load of rubbish. the games crap as mentioned above means i have to use town stations with 2 terminals , 1 for express p&M , 1 track for freight between towns , and at least 2 large warehouses for goods , just to much delay and uneconomical to send 1 way traffic to town station, makes it hard at the start to set up for it, but pays big time mid to late game as far as building populations , just about to watch your vids as i like them. I would still be playing transport fever it was not fro the very bad coding it use for resources, transport fever only uses my CPU and averages 400-800 mg yes thats right 400-800 mg of my mobo ram ( theirs 26 gig left after windows) , i run 2 x dual GPU with 8 gig DDR5 on each video card , transport fever use neither my my cards GPU or GDDR 5 ram.It doesn`t take much to show a software's resource use on computer. It was running my CPU 8 core ,.5 of mhz over that which i allow. My only choice was to delete the games and request a refund unless they rewrite the game. This is just my experience as before i got my current PC , this did not happen with transport fever
I decided to buy it today. Played it for 2 hours and refunded. You can't even make diamond switches or a simple double junction (e.g. four tracks becoming two). Which means making even a simple network is very messy because you have to do a flyover with a bridge and then merge. If the developers improve the track laying and a few other things such as the AI, I might buy it again. It was a good looking game and seems to be well optimised. I'll certainly be watching all the episodes from the Colonel as he has more patience than I to play this game.
some nice ideas in this game BUT it looks "stupid"... and what i mean with that is... it has a toy'ish feeling, that i don't like... it lacks realism... supply towers and stuff like tasks to connect something and so on are great... i wish transport fever would have such stuff... but the track laying in this game really makes me dislike it... its boring =( so many nice ideas but thats the dealbreaker...
I don't consider it the AI cheating more a extra difficulty level, you play on easy equal to the AI, play on realistic the ai has a slight advantage, note the AI pays more for tracks and upkeep
All games has some sort of "cheat" for the AI. If they didn't it wouldn't be any challenge at all since AI can never be as smart as the human player. Balance is a better term than cheating.
It's also easier to implement from a development point of view. Imagine programming the logic to autonmously lay passing tracks and set up signalling without the potential to mess up the trains' ability to move.
No, it's nothing like Railroad Tycoon! In order to say that you must be working for the company. The computer can run 100 trains on the same track with no side rail and no brakes down. But humans have to play in a realistic mode, sidetrack and brake down the programming team who made this game was very lazy. They made the game look good and that is all even the controls are poorly made. You are not being truthful when you make the statement in the title!
Sam Anne I get where you’re coming from, but personally I think it’s more western cartoon than kid drawings. But I can see the illustrations being a little too childish and you probably don’t care because you wrote this a year ago. The dialogue is also a bit interesting and the voice acting could be better, so I understand that.
"I see no reason to have a security guard" - Sounds like the words of someone soon to be robbed...
Colonel, if you read the _whole_ screen when looking at the Market Crier you would have seen, on the left side at the bottom, an "occupation" section that describes what she does. Also, there's grain just south of Atlanta, which it wants. :-)
+Nartur Arkano That's too much screen and you know it.
Yep, she looked useful too.
love these old railroad vids sir
Glad to see you playing this game, hoping to see more of it soon.

Ah, Railroad Tycoon. One of the first and the best. Good ol` times.
Arghhhh....
1000 times better gameplay than this!
Great video! Here because just got it free on epic! Grew up playing rail road tycoon on my amiga! But could never get into railroads!
Subscribed 5 seconds after hearing your voice, stayed subscribed because you made me laugh 4 times. :D
+Lisa S. Thanks :)

Hi Colonel Failure
, can Google make a google assistant voice of your voice?
Glad you are starting this series. Looking forward to it.
Using your loaf to deliver bread now thats a good one sir lol.

Great work Colonel. Onwards and upwards.
Quite the impressive headquarters you have in downtown Atlanta there.
that moment you redownload a game from steam, look up who you watched play it, then realize it was also the first series you watched on that persons channel... my memory sucks
Each of the employees give you benefits to your company as always great videos :)
There can be maximum of 2 stations per city/town you better build second stations if you don't want your competitors to come up in your towns build a station and steal your passengers and stocks and also you can buy the brewery in Atlanta for some extra cash if you feel like it ! Looking Forward to the next Episode !
+Petq011 Pro strats.
But can you crash the economy just to have cheaper tracks, just like RRT3?
Colonel don't forget you have a free leaf spring upgrade in the train research center that you won from the auction. make sure you use it.
Anyone know if this is available as a digital download for PS4? Supposed to be available today 1-30-2018 in the U.S. but i have not seen anything on the PS store yet. Thanks for the series!
I'm glad they shut that pompous guys yapper for the final release.
What's your name General? Colonel. No what's your name. Colonel.
I wasn't going to buy this because I still play RRT2 and RRT3 but I see the complete collection is on sale right now at Steam for 20 bucks.
The i button that's greyed out will be enabled in an upcoming patch in case you were wondering.
Omg, the Colonel is back playing REAL games!!! :) Seriously though, good to see you again and thank God I can stop watching the cheap pretenders to the Failure throne!
I never stopped! And this is a few months old, where have you been?
As I said, checking out your competition (not that you have a lot). By the way, I STILL hate Signals even these so called "Easy" ones! :)
COLONEL IF EVER POSSIBLE PLEASE DO SOMETHING WITH GRAND JUNCTION. PLEASE.we were and are such a big stepping stone between east of the Rockies and the west
+Turtle_burger01 Will do Turtle. Your singular campaign has worked.
I think Mel yells at people that you're in town, because that's the only way they learn anything.
very deep and soothing voice
SUBBED
the game got some nice graphics going on
And that is the best part of the game. gameplay is the pits! Very upset that I got it!
The East! I would say wicked but I think good job y'all would be more in line with the local.
While the map is East the start in Atlanta is all south. In New England a wicked would definitely be appropriate though.
Colonel, take out a bond and try to put one of your competitors out of the game early to expand your territory.
How does it fare against more established titles like RR3?
Now the question has to be: Thinking WAAAY back Colonel (Cmon, I know you can do it :) ) to when you did your first transport Fever video, comparing what you did here to what you did back then, which game do you think you prefer??
+NZ_Wanderer I'd have to go back to Train Fever to compare. Right now it's too soon to tell. Replay factor is pretty significant.
with the proper mic and eq/compression, you could seriously do voiceovers as work. You have that lovely speakervoice :D
Ha, I live in Augusta. 2.30 hours from Atlanta be car.
Lets do it man
+FumblerX Doing it.
That Market Crier (Melanie Adams) her eyes are glowing blue she looks possessed.
She is clearly either Fremen, or not to be trusted. Possibly both.
"I shall treasure it always" Hahahaha
OHOHOHO finally!
So the General's name is.... Colonel Failure.
Looking forward to this series Colonel :) keep up the good work .. and read the bl@@dy screen LOL
its great game i brought it about 2 weeks ago it was on sell on steam
Steamspiel only!also absolutes no go. Schad!
you need to set pause to manual at the start to pause the game yourself
Wow. Just like railroad tycoon 3! Only more detailed!
the cities grow automatically as you progress?
I agreed with "AI Cheats".
It told you what she did on the left hand side of the screen bottom section
Is there a European option to playing this? Or other country?
Carry on Col.
- Eddy
NO!
But the big question is. Is it like railroad tycoon ?.
Yes.
Oh good thanks. I'll watch the rest of the video now.
Oh you are so weak .. :-)
Geoff Fletcher and easily led astray
No don't buy the hype. gameplay sucks
Don't you need a maintenance depot in Atlanta?
THE AI DO CHEAT AND IT IS THE ONLY FAILURE OF THE GAME ,apart from a few bugs that freeze the game.

The real question is, is it transport fever
Irate comment.
+CmdrX3 Well that's a fine thing.
Is it worth 50 Eur. though... ?
+Lusitani74 That's for you to decide!
It might be worth it in Euros, in Brexpounds maybe not. check if we are leaving or staying its changing by the day at the moment.

I know it's 3 weeks later now (after the above posts), but today on cdkeys.com it's £18.99 (roughly 21.5 Euros) for the PC version
Hell NO! Take it from someone who got it on steam.
That A.I. though...
The A.I. is not strong it Cheats!
Alas, I have no pithyness.
But are you irate?
Colonel Failure With your ultra smooth playstyle, no sir I am not.
Ah come on 2nd
Always bothered me, why the game makes rails next to stations have kinks
+Onionjack That has already made me a little vexed
No Canada eh? What the hell
We expect more, faster. Please produce more for less. :)
Well, you get less for more with this game.
some nice ideas in this game BUT it looks "stupid"... and what i mean with that is... it has a toy'ish feeling, that i don't like... it lacks realism... supply towers and stuff like tasks to connect something and so on are great... i wish transport fever would have such stuff... but the track laying in this game really makes me dislike it... its boring =( so many nice ideas but thats the dealbreaker...
i just downloaded the wrong thing. Railroad Tycoon ffs that a failure
The whole AI cheating thing is the reason I didn't buy it.
I don't consider it the AI cheating more a extra difficulty level, you play on easy equal to the AI, play on realistic the ai has a slight advantage, note the AI pays more for tracks and upkeep
Steve Austin maybe so, but I still see it as cheating and annoying as hell if you buy one of them.

You must have played a different Railroad Tycoon to me.
thumbs down....too "kiddie" looking. Looks like something a 6th grader might find cute and funny, but not really realistic.

Pithy answer.
