zBarb can also do a bit more that helps the groups. On floors that have doors, barb can open/break nearby doors if the necros stop on an elite or something (drop buffs, proc strongarms, then hit the door) and they can also body block for the DPS necros against things like hellwitch projectiles, just walk into them so they don't proc your DPS.
I can't thank you enough for making this video. No one takes the time to explain things like you did in this video. I really want to give this a try this season. I look forward to more in the future!

I've never done rats before, and never really played Necro before either. This season I am running Bone Spear Necro and after tuning into your stream last night to see ~2min GR121 groups at over 2k paragon (my last season finish point crushed in 4 days!) I bit the bullet and built a zNec. Will try groups tmw, bit nervous, though I know the maps well and have decent gear with 65% sheet CDR (none on wep yet). Here's hoping I can get a new PB for paragon in a season! Thanks for the informative video, even though I only intend to play zNec or rats (been collecting that gear as well), I watched the whole vid to learn each person's role.
Such a great video Raxx, best info I have seen yet on the subject. This will be really useful to anyone who has been wanting to run rats but didnt know what to do.
Usually you gamble shards and salvage every 2-3 rifts and if you see something in you inventory that might be an upgrade you just throw it in the stash and look at it later. When I've done speeds you will generally run 50-100 Grifts (or more if your going for a few hours with a set group) before you check upgrades and farm more keys.
It really is the easiest build but it's amazing how tha majority of barbs out there have always wrong skill runes/gear etc when you inspect them in game. People need to stop just copying builds from youtube/guides and learn what they play xD

I've heard about this setup so much but knew nothing about it as I play hardcore ssf btw. Nicely laid out and detailed. Even someone like me who finds grouping to be a totally alien concept could keep up. Only thing missing is hardcore variations. It's probably really close to the same but maybe on lower gr's if I had to make a guess.
I'm a solo player but i like the way the rat runs take full advantage from every item or set....and as always spectacular work on the setup an presentation....

Zbarb will take a few runs to get used to it (10-30 minutes tops of practice). Things will happen that will be completely out of your control such as... A shock tower or Your rats are a screen or two apart and IP goes down for one of them. It should never happen with a good group. If it does happen for whatever reason just make sure you are taking the extra couple of seconds to escort the rat that fell behind back up to where the rest of the group is at. 1 dead rat or 1 rat who fell behind is 50% less dmg and 50% slower clear time. If you do notice that the rats are not staying close together (for whatever reason) you'll need to play around that with your IP or find a team with better unity. (should never happen with a good team unless lag) While you are playing with a team for the first time just ask them after each greater rift if you did anything wrong or you can do something differently. For the hardest part (in my opinion). Leaping over walls and cliffs and ledges. I would recommend practicing that for a bit. It's hard if you are not used to it. But with in-geom and all your CDR you wont be stuck there waiting for another 10 seconds. If it doesn't work the first time try a different angle. LOL!

I'm going zNec with 2p Pestilence, 2p Captain Crimson and 3p Masquerade Carnival Weapon : In-geom Off hand : Lost Time Neck : Hellfire Amulet Strength ( I'm using Blood is power) Rings : Brigg's Wrath / Ring of Royal Grandeur Cube : Messerschimdt's Reaver for Weapon / Dayntee's Binding for Armor / Haunted Visions for Jewelry / Strongarm Bracers for Universal slot. Skills : Corpse Lance - brittle touch / Devour - Cannibalize / Land of the Dead - Frozen lands / Blood rush - Metabolism / Curse - anything ( i'm using Decrepify - Borrowed Time for 20% cd) / Simulacrum - anything. Passive skill : Life from Death / Stand alone / Final Service / Rathma's Shield ( you can swap this with Fueled by death for more mobility ). Total sets bonus : 2 from Pestilence / 4 from Masquerade Carnival ( 3 from armor + 1 from ring) / 3 from Captain crimson ( 2 from armor + 1 from ring). It's super tanky and you have 2 life before you start dying ( 1 from Final service and 1 when you have Simulacrum active, you can have 1 more if you re-activate Simulacrum). Although it's a little bit slow to move around but it's let you apply all 3 curses which help reduce enemy attack by 30% + heal teamate by 2% total health when struck and instant kill anything below 15% hp. Haunted Visions allow Simulacrum to last forever and the cd is reset when you die so you can cast it right after.

Thank you very much for the guide! May I ask how you manage gear drops while doing these fast runs? One of the main reasons I have not joined in on Rats is cause i dont know how to keep up in town and not annoy rest of group, especially if its a very fast group.
Usually this is only for Greater Rifts! There are only gear drops after the Rift-Guardian, so very fast & most XP! Fast GR-Push means 3-4 runs straight and then once managing the gear and spending BS. At Season start maybe one normal rift for Keys, while others have time to equip new.
Usually when u do rats run, u will keep ur inventory empty except for 8 slot for gems. Then u will do around 3 runs before ur inventory full. Then everyone will started to spend about 30s-1m to look at all the items. If u see any items that ancient or something that u need. Throw it into ur stash tab then look at it after u done with rats run

Rax, your long time TOOL, D3 bro, here. Just a quick Q for ya, what do you recommend for starting rat run groups collective paragon levels to be at the beginning? I'm playing a. Bone Spear Masquerade Necro. and I'm only 164 paragon level doing T7 solo runs on GR 30. I got a late start this season. Is it too late for me?
Imo you don't go straight to rats, do your season journey to do a GR70 push to unlock primals and level your Lod gem and save all the rat gear you get during that process while gambling for missing pieces
So the ideal Augments for ZBarb in Rats are Int and for ZNec are Strength, correct? Just making sure. In that case, what would be the better Augment for items that can be used on Zbarb and/or ZNec? Cheers

Usually when u do rats run, u will keep ur inventory empty except for 8 slot for gems. Then u will do around 3 runs before ur inventory full. Then everyone will started to spend about 30s-1m to look at all the items. If u see any items that ancient or something that u need. Throw it into ur stash tab then look at it after u done with rats run

Hi Raxx. Thanks a lot for the guide. Really interesting. Small question though, I tested the build of the zNec and I don't understand why you continuously use the Command Skeleton. On my side it's not triggering the Gogok stack. Did I miss something ?

Hi and many thanks for this guide. One question on ZNEC gameplay you are running with DEVOUR " Devouring aura" but on maxroll ZNEC RAT you have entered the Canibalize rune. Is this a maxroll update or its just an error and we should play devouring aura instead as in the video explanations?

Rax, your long time TOOL, D3 bro, here. Just a quick Q for ya, what do you recommend for starting rat run groups collective paragon levels to be at the beginning? I'm playing a. Bone Spear Masquerade Necro. and I'm only 164 paragon level doing T7 solo runs on GR 30. I got a late start this season. Is it too late for me?

Great guide! Any tips how one should transition to LoD mage build from season starting set?
Imo you don't go straight to rats, do your season journey to do a GR70 push to unlock primals and level your Lod gem and save all the rat gear you get during that process while gambling for missing pieces

So the ideal Augments for ZBarb in Rats are Int and for ZNec are Strength, correct? Just making sure.
