I'm always skeptical when someone says that their ex was abusive and possessive. My ex cheated on me and then told everyone I was abusive and controlling when all I did was plead with her to stop cheating on me. I get that there are abusive people out there, but it needs to be investigated. I almost went to jail and lost a couple jobs because of the lies she told.
From my experience, its anything related to poor communication. The biggest one is when she expects you to read her mind instead of being straightforward about her feelings.
