I watched on in bewilderment (as did we all) on Saturday as we routinely failed to control the ball again and again. I have complete faith in this manager but we are watching some utterly bizarre performances out there. Some players look like they are in complete shock at the intensity of the league while others look like they are devoid of focus, playing experience and aggression. For me, Chair controlled the ball more efficiently and productively in 25 minutes than some players have done across 5-6 entire games. Chair is a must start against Portsmouth. Thanks for the excellent content as always.

Frankly yet again, we were slow, clueless, lacking any intelligence, loads of pointless running back and forwards like 13 year old school teams. Powderpuff tackling, loads of back turning, falling over and simply failing the most basis of basics! Now, either the PLAYERS are not good enough or the MANAGER is not good enough. For me, it's MC, with a lack of appreciation of the players we have, no plan B or C, lack of any tactical nous and worse than everything, he seems unable to change anything. Sorry but he needs to go asap, or we will be relegated by Xmas.

It is amazing given some of the height in the team why we can't be more physical? Dunne is 6 foot 4, Madsen is 6 foot 4 (but projects 4 foot 6), Clark Salter when he comes back is 6 foot 2, Sam Field is 6 foot 2, Fox is 6 foot 1, Varane is 6 foot 3, Mich Frey is 6 foot 3 and Celar is apparently 6 foot 2 and not 6 foot 1. Even Anderson is 6 foot 1. There really should be the base to build a strong physical side but it's just not there this season. The problem is that for some reason Field just isn't imposing himself, Madsen looks like a motorboat in a lake of speedboats, Anderson looks like he needs a sit down quite often and we haven't seen enough of Varane to know yet but he needed to learn this season off someone like Colback or Hayden. It really is baffling. Colback, although a one man red card really does add steel to the midfield but as we have said before how much of a false economy has it be to not bring Hayden back for a few seasons? A man to bring through a player like Varane and even muscle up Madsen. It's kind of like we've declared that QPR has to be tippy tappy west London Barcelona this season when the robust, tough, deep sitting, big defending and fast breaking QPR of the second half of last season is what started to make us look unplayable. That has been consigned to the bin? It's all very odd and I hope Marti takes a few days sitting atop a mountain top and thinks... we just need to be hard bastards to play against and physically use the height in the team to far more effect, allowing the likes of Dembele, Saito and others to use pace on the break. But we are mere fans so what do we know?

I agree your analysis. As the great grandson of the team who became QPR - Christchurch - I cannot believe the lack of confidence, flair, nouse and creativity that this team is showing. I do wonder what strategies are being worked on on the lavish training ground - his to defend - his to finish - lack of midfield ability. I do hope the lessons of “back to basics” we saw last season and nurtured at Hammerby are seen very quickly. Thanks Hoopsa!

It's really frustrating, it's like they're doing their best job to tear up the good will built up at the end of last season as quickly as possible. Loftus Road is silent on match days, in part due to most of our home games being 12:30 kick offs, but mostly because the football has been rubbish!

im not suprised we are struggling when we are so light in the strker department....should have at least 4 1st team strikers, we have 2 and 1 of them in celar is utterly useless, i can still remember poulter/smith/mackie/washington 4 strikers and we still struggled that season or when we had austin/dykes/gray/bonne.....we have no striker options...we didnt replace dykes, completely agree aswell the midfield is weak...id even include sam field in that...he is overated massively he usually trips over his own feet and usually passes backwards sidwards,,,as for anderson and madson...both stealing a wage utter tripe....what pisses me off the most season after season its the same shite...whilst fulham and brentford would utterly ruin us if we played them....when will lessons ever be learned

I still think we've been lucky this season so far with the draws, Nardi has saved us a good few losses with some good saves in succession. One positive I took from Derby was with two forwards on Frey looked a little more comfortable, relying on him to chase and win long balls alone has been rather painful to watch, especially when he isn't far enough up to shoot which often ends up with us passing the ball back. Maybe I'm seeing it all wrong, correct me if I am please I'd like to feel optimistic!

    • @HoopsaYouTube

Lack of pace in midfield, Anderson and madsen running around in quick sand creating nothing and couldn't put a tackle in if there lives depended on it!! Paal gave up at the start of the season, can't get dembela into the game to effect it!! Good job we have a great keeper by far the player of the season so far!! I think we'd be lucky if we've had played 3 half's of OK football this season!!

Hi Hoopsa. Great review. Where do we start. We'll, if any qpr fan thinks the team is going to get better after the international break, (it didn't in the last) Sorry , its not going to happen. Qpr have 4 home games out of 5, up next. If we don't get some wins, we will be at this stage cast adrift, worrying times.

Went to Derby game, so dissapointing. Hate being so negative but we look awful, Madsen is so weak, Anderson isnt anywhere near consistant enough. I thought Ashby would be a good replacement for Santos but he was just as bad giving the ball away numerous times. Apart from Dunne, Saito and Frey the rest of the side look uninterested and heads drop so quickly. Even Cook looks like he doesnt want to be here, its a bad situation that we deperetely miss Colback as much as we do!

Would be ideal, if your erudite criticism was answered by Cifuentes. Your analysis,as always is one of exactitude . Paal lost the ball so easily, it was embarrassing to watch. What do we do in this phase of a team not fit for purpose ?. NEW STRATEGY ? NEW PLAYERS? NEW MANAGER? As it stands it's Div 1 Here We Come.....no joking...

@@HoopsaRUclips Yes, I totally agree. It presently appears that Cifuentes is treading a fine line as a diplomat. Wouldn't surprise me if Chair will be sold shortly and the whole team could be dismantled in accordance with financial Board restraints .The longer this negativity ensues the likelier the suspicion. I think that's partly why Warburton left. MC may be left picking up the pieces in Div 1. I hope I'm wrong....in that we kickstart with a better performance in the next game.🤞🤞🤞

Great points as always Hoopy. Here's Mr Darren Harris take:
Santos is not a right back.
    Dunne is a right back.
    Paal cannot play left back.
    Fox should replace Paal.
Andersen is a sub at best.
    Madsen needs time.
Field has not been with it recently.
    Celar needs time.
The Formation of 4 - 2 - 3 - 1 is not working & MC is not the first manager to persist with it. The others lost their job !
Is it the right time to play 3 at the back - 2 wing back's - 3 in the middle & 2 up top.

Good video. I have stayed away from QPR - too depressing. My observations from afar though are, you cannot bring in 9-10 new faces & hope they gel. Secondly, most if not all have no Championship experience, most coming from weaker leagues ; as does Marti etc.. The players` & staff have never been to these grounds. Lastly, I felt from the summer that QPR do not intend on challenging, so just survive - they only just do enough! - sad, boring.
