As someone who is recovering from eating disorder, there are two things I want to adress: just because she got triggered doesn't mean she shouldn't be held accountable for her reaction. Why? Because it had an affect not just on her, but on someone else. When someone gets triggered and their reaction is to punch someone, you can't just go ''but he was triggered :(''. They lacked self-control, it affected someone else and they need to take responsibility for it. Being triggered sucks, but it doesn't mean you can just ''go along'' with your reaction if it hurts more than just you. Also you will never get rid of things that trigger you by trying to adjust everything and everyone around you, it's damn impossible also the world doesn't revolve around you. People can't live and companies can't function according to your needs. The healing process takes place WITHIN YOU. The point of healing is that you can remain collected and unaffected in the presence of triggers. For example a recovered alcoholic can't demand stores to stop putting alcohol on display or can't ask everyone to label alcohol as ''wheat bavarage'' so they feel safe. Again, I understand where she was coming from, but it wasn't a good take. It's not store's fault and not their business to keep Demi and people with ED feel comfortable and safe. What you did was wrong 100% I cannot even believe that makes you feel unsafe? How weak does one need to be that guilt free yogurt makes you feel unsafe? That is an insult to those really navigating an unsafe environment. There are people living in abusive situations, war zones etc. but you felt threatened by a guilt free frozen treat????
Yeah, but you took your issues out on others. You need to deal with your issues, the world is not responsible for your issues. We have our own problems, the world doesn't revolve around you. But there is nothing wrong with diet foods? Even outside of dietary restrictions. Not everyone has an eating disorder, some people love diet foods when they deal with controlling their obesity or avoiding sugar to be healthier. People with eating disorders have it hard, but she can't expect people to get rid of these health foods because it's triggering for her.

She should think before she acts. I understand that she tried to speak up for people with ED, but there are many other diseases in the world and everybody has something that triggers him/her, but you can't come at everybody/everything and you can't ban everything that triggers you.
I didn't think I would have to say this y'all, but not everything is about you. SHE felt they should have labelled, SHE felt as if the products were feeding diet culture, etc. SHE felt and did all of these things and failed to look at the situation logically and think about other people. Some folks simply can't have sugar, some people simply can't eat gluten, so on and so forth. She should have thought about them before using her celebrity to harm a small business. Also this wasn't an "apology". Apologies done have ifs and buts. Also, it's okay to support Demi, while also saying "this ain't it chief" it doesn't make you any less of a fan, but it does make you unreasonable to say you don't understand why folks are upset with her
Does she feels safe around vegetables?! Does she feels personally attacked when she sees a zero sugar coke? Does she feels like she being killed because McDonald's offers salads?! She's EXTREMELY out of line.
Stop making light out of eating disorders they are one of the most deadly mental health disorders. She’s recovered from anorexia, how about being able to take constructive critisism? Or are you too sensitive to be able to take critique??
Oh my god. This is why people end up fucking dying of these disorders. It's insensitive people like you who make light of these heavy issues that cause and promote the societal stigma around not only mental health, but also around ED's. Get a grip
You don't get the whole point. She is mad about the label "guilt free". That's a way of telling people: "you can eat this product without getting fat and ugly". This is not an healthy way to label food. Do you understand that?
WoW, you went at her hard! Like she personally offended you or something. I wish our world had more compassion for people ❤🙂 Especially when your injuries/disorders aren't visible. I too have a eating disorder, anxiety, depression, ptsd, etc. It's not easy being a female combat veteran with most of my injuries in my head except for my back, neck... sometimes I think my life would be easier if I had lost a limb bc then people wouldn't expect me to act perfect(no disrespect to my brothers n sisters who did lose limbs❤🤗)!! She offered to talk to the ppl and talk about it, That's great, It goes to her accepting responsibility for her actions. Just a FYI McDonald's doesn't serve salads anymore bc that was my favorite 🙂
im glad she's owning up to her mistakes. i hope she can see that not everything you crave (cakes, cookies, alcohol, etc) has to be shut down. learn to control your needs and struggles and avoid the places that are triggering to you. sure some people may not like to keep their diet down and others well would want to. everyone has different needs. doesn't mean every business caters to you. you can find any restaurant/business that has what your looking for. for everyone's sake, please be respectful and mindful of that the next time you see something that doesn't seem right. ask questions when need be. work on your struggles and any triggering moments. remove yourself from whatever place/environment that is costing you to act this way. again - there's no need to attack or make headline stories over something that wasn't controversial.

It’s really sad, because she’s such a talented person. Like, I respect her for what she does for people with eating disorders. But, outside of her own experiences, she doesn’t see the world around her.
Shame. She clearly is so ignorant to those with dietary restrictions. Like she clearly doesn't realize the stress that goes into eating out when you have certain diseases or food allergies. And to act like only her problems matter without awareness of those around her. Must be nice to be able to eat whatever without your body attacking you for it. Eating disorders can be treated. Food allergies best options are substitutions. She needs to educate herself on why sugar free options exist in the first place.

@@brittaniwilson6039 what’s the labeling have to do with her entitlement?!
Everyone in the comments defending her #Delusional
Cuz they like her and a celebrity. If this was a normal person people would laugh.
Demi might have worded this poorly in the beginning but she knows her mistakes and is willing to work with that shop so it doesn't trigger people with EDs, stop villainizing this woman.
This whole thing is literally the embodiment of “That sounds like a YOU problem”
" My struggles in LA"....
The Guilt Free brand she posted was from the stores insta in 2016. They don't carry them now. The store posted DMs. Demi said yeah but you carry Lenny and Larry. So she went out of her way to misrepresent them and use a worse sounding brand name which she didn't acknowledge here. Her intentions weren't good.
So, you reacted before you ranted on twitter. Just because you've lived through stuff gives you absolutely no right to act like that. I also was in a coma and about died, and im surely not whining over yogurt. The sugar free stuff is for DIABETIC people and others who have special dietary needs. Like, there was no threat to you. If you dont have the control to go in, dont go in. You avoid triggers, you should know this. All I keep hearing is " I didnt get the froyo I wanted" and NO PEOPLE DIDNT TAKE IT THE WRONG WAY, YOU JUST DOUBLED DOWN ON WHAT YOU SAID. Nobody was even discussing this as an issue.
Some people struggle with overeating sugar. So some people like low sugar.
That's okay, but it shouldn't be called "guilt free" then.
@@CcCc-ld9ih they can call it whatever they want. It’s a free country!
@@CcCc-ld9ih my diabetic cousin loves the guilt free feeling of eating cookies that won't harm him or have him get absurd amounts of insulin in his shots so yeah still kinda guilt free
@@CcCc-ld9ih seriously? People's lack of constitution is not the worlds problem. We can change everything to suit the weak minded.
@@CcCc-ld9ih Obese people trying to get healthy probably love that name.
I have watched this story for a few days now and I’m actually pleased she is getting so much backlash from it as it will help teach her more than just being so Absorbed in her own issues I just hope she is wise enough to learn from it and listen rather than just rant back.
The good thing that will come out of this is the shop will be booming with more business as people will want to show their love for being so considerate of other people’s needs!
Let’s hope she can learn more from this experience and come back with a more genuine apology as it was all about her and not how she had effected others. 😊🌸
You gave no thought to anyone but yourself. Those items are there for those that need them. You cannot put your personal issues on others and businesses.
Womp womp...girl, bye.
Yeah, but you took your issues out on others. You need to deal with your issues, the world is not responsible for your issues. We have our own problems, the world doesn't revolve around you. It's like you see the world through your eyes only. It's not only medical issues, I like healthy options. Deal with your shit
The world doesn’t revolve around you, and the options have been readily available like this for years. You’re older than I am, you should know there’s other conditions that people have that require them to eat sugar free or vegan.
Some people aren’t dieting they have autoimmune diseases and so many other things. We can’t eat the same things. You’re entitled. Just leave if the place isn’t for you.
this girl says one thing and suddenly the whole internet gangs up against her SHES HUMAN SHE DIDNT KILL ANYONE SHE JUST SPOKE UP ABOUT DIET CULTURE DAMN
Everyone thinks she’s trying to tear down a business. Like no that’s not what she’s doing.
@@healthinfluencernews no she didn’t try to ruin the business, she was speaking out on something that wasn’t made clear enough to her. Maybe go watch her apology and you’ll know what I’m talking about. Then again it’s not like this isn’t going to go one forever. Everyone will forget about this in like 10 days 💀
@@healthinfluencernews she doesn't have to apologise and you can go cry about it lol

Her heads gone
You created the issue yourself. You are not in the middle of anything and the point is that not everything is about you. Why do they need to put signs, everyone knows this, that some people have dietary restrictions for health reasons it's not rocket science 🤔 you really look like a selfish person right now your making it seem like you are doing this for others but all I have heard is I I and more I. Your wrong on this one and this isn't an apology 😌😌
She didn’t have to apologise about it cause I understand what she meant and diet culture isn’t good it’s wrong and triggers people
She should think before she acts.
Also, it's okay to support Demi, while also saying "this ain't it chief" it doesn't make you any less of a fan, but it does make you unreasonable to say you don't understand why folks are upset with her
im a fan, i just hope she learns from this situation, but i think it'll take some time
Does she feels safe around vegetables?!
Get a grip
😭😭😭😭 it’s the food’s fault. If food didn’t exist, Demi wouldn’t have to deal with all of this. 😔
Everyone processes things differently. Demi got triggered due to her disorder and whatever was going on in the yogurt shop. She offered to talk to the ppl and talk about it, That's great, It goes to her accepting responsibility for her actions. Just a FYI
McDonald's doesn't serve salads anymore bc that was my favorite 🙂
im glad she's owning up to her mistakes. i hope she can see that not everything you crave (cakes, cookies, alcohol, etc) has to be shut down. learn to control your needs and struggles and avoid the places that are triggering to you. sure some people may not like to keep their diet down and others well would want to. everyone has different needs. doesn't mean every business caters to you. you can find any restaurant/business that has what your looking for. for everyone's sake, please be respectful and mindful of that the next time you see something that doesn't seem right. ask questions when need be. work on your struggles and any triggering moments. remove yourself from whatever place/environment that is costing you to act this way. again - there's no need to attack or make headline stories over something that wasn't controversial.
Who does she think she is? She’s in her own world. Defo not it reality.
I agree with Demi , it's good to stand up for what you believe in and if someone has a problem , not trying to be rude but just calm down and quick being rude to Demi.
Demi I love you so much you are my inspiration I have love you since I was 14 years old you are incredible just incredible and you beautiful as well and such amazing voice!
What are people so pressed about? You can cater to vegans and people with diabetes but using the term “guilt free” is definitely triggering. If you don’t see the toxic standards society puts on women, then you aren’t living in reality and stop hating on Demi for standing up for what’s right please
It's triggering? Build up a tougher skin for crying out loud...how weak is one that is triggered by guilt free yogurt???
No one is perfect! Everyone plus US is learning!

It’s really sad, because she’s such a talented person. Like, I respect her for what she does for people with eating disorders. But, outside of her own experiences, she doesn’t see the world around her.
the fact that she apologized yet some people are still stiring up the drama
Nice of you to diabetic shame people
She needs to educate herself on why sugar free options exist in the first place.
why does the shop have to care about her? they made their business how they want it to be they don’t have to change sonthing just bc she wants them to just go to a different place

Um we do understand it... but she should've said "yeah I effed up, there are people who actually feel guilty about eating sugary stuff because they genuinely struggle with things like diabetes or morbid obese and that's valid, I forgot that there are people who really need that kind of advertisement so that they can easily find the product that fits their condition. I acted from a very privileged and selfish point of view, I should've known better. My mental triggers shouldn't have been an excuse for me to act in that way, I promise I'll do better. My personal issues should never hurt other people. Sorry."
Struggling with food and even trying to gain weight! My body rejects food and it comes out the other end. That’s a completely other trouble. Food in general these days isn’t healthy. Packaged food, soiled in plastic. I’ve never heard of fro-yo, but in England it is so hard to find food that will settle, that is healthy, in fiber, sugar, etc, it is all unhealthy. Don't worry so much about this something you posted on the internet...you can't please everyone... we are all entitled to our opinions and it's OK to voice them... for the yogurt shop to come back and say they cater to those with celiac disease and vegans is political gibberish.
