Zak is not qualified or competent as an obedience trainer. A professional obedience trainer would have this behavior out of inertia in a week or so. The harm Zak does to inexperienced pet owners is letting their dogs off the hook for bad and potentially dangerous behavior and chalking it up to the dog's age, the time of day, the other dogs in the park, the squirrel one state over, or whatever the excuse de jeur is.
These series are really amazing! You are always showing real-life training and not just showing perfect trainded dog. Me and my mom are looking for a golden retriever puppy this summer and then I'll rewatch these whole series. Thanks for doing this, it's really helpful!

Hi Zak, I have a American bulldog an he is a little under 1 and a half years old an there are a few things that are hard to train him: let’s start with tall people, if there are tall people (mostly guys) he barks at them more often, except not in public only when they come to our house, over time he gets used to them but it takes him way longer to stop barking so much at them. 2: walking in the park, since we first got him he has been way better at not barking at other dogs but he still pulls and tries to get close to them however he is not barking, and it is hard to get him to listen and stop pulling. 3: squirrels! This is a BIG problem, if he sees a squirrel in our yard he takes off without even thinking twice and if we are walking him on a leash he will pull us down, luckily some how this has not happened in a public place he just has not seen a squirrel nearby but it will happen sometime and I don’t want him running of and then he will be lose in public. He even runs to the nearest tree and looks up i he hears the word squirrel. 4: playing fetch, he is a really playful dog and he loves chasing a ball or frisbee or stick however once we throw it he does not like to drop it and give it back. Sometimes he doesn’t even come al the way back and just sits there and chews on it 5: At home he likes to play rough with our other dogs, he is not aggressive but he just plays rough and I am worried that he will play rough with a friends dog or something and they will think he is not playing and it could not turn out so good... 6: he knows Sit and stay and lay down ect. But he hardly does them if I don’t have a treat with me. Any advice on these? also tysm if u actually read through this ik I wrote a lot, sorry!
