Welcome to my region! 😉 Tropea and its surroundings are certainly among the most beautiful and renowned places in Calabria! I, on the other hand, find myself on the Ionian side of the region and precisely in the vicinity of another renowned locality which is Soverato and the nearby "costa degli aranci" which goes north to Copanello (where an excellent coffee, the Guglielmo, is produced!) Pietragrande and Caminia in one of the few rocky contexts in the area. Keep enjoying your holidays here in Italy! Ciao! 👋😉✌
Thank you for your welcome to Calabria! Such a wonderful place for us to spend a week. Seems like 90% of the people here are Italian and I love that - it really feels like we are in Italy. The coastline is spectacular and the water is amazing. We love the local onions and chillies 😀 We are now starting to figure things out here. Maybe a trip to the Ionian side next time, but for sure we will keep coming back. I love that it feels so undiscovered😀
Calabria, here in Italy, and even more abroad (when known of course), is a region that is certainly appreciated but also less in sight than others (the nearby Puglia and Sicily for example). In fact, in addition to the beautiful sea areas recognized by most, Calabria is probably even more fascinating for its hinterland that no tourist agency will advertise ... In Calabria (but not only) you can, for example, reach the hill / mountain (over 2000 meters) from the sea in about 30/40 minutes by car. Among other things, there are three national parks such as Sila, Pollino and Aspromonte each with its own characteristics such as the "Pino Laricio" present ONLY in Sila, as well as having large areas equipped for winter skiing, then passing through the Canyon of the park of Pollino where you can go rafting with a rowboat, or the Aspromonte which, thanks to its unique biodiversity, is considering whether to make it a UNESCO World Heritage Site! The latter, just like its name, Aspro-Monte, offers particularly jagged and almost inaccessible remote places, rich in ancient uninhabited villages, rivers, streams and waterfalls of all kinds ... in short, a place that often not even those who live there really knows! Greetings to you and all beautiful Poland! 👋😉

It looks nice but it's very busy, very crowded. In the south west of France, in Normandy or Brittany, we have some very beautiful villages and towns but it's not crowded like this even in summer season.
Anthony@Brittany the southeast, the Bay of Biscay to the south, and the Celtic Sea and the Atlantic Ocean . You need a car for the holiday you sugesting. Wild beaches, cold Atlantic good for bird watches, camping , gites. Bickering to people with British passports at the moment , not to pleasent. Italy was better choice for soaking the sun and Calabrian kitchen.
