There are a few ways to deal with Waterfowl up close, but my favorite has to be _The Juke™._ Basically, when she starts Waterfowl, even though she's in the air, she still has collision on the ground so you can't just run underneath her. So instead, you press up against her collision box on the ground and spin her in a _really_ tight circle to break her tracking. If you do it right, you'll end up behind her and she'll dash off slashing at nothing and waste her first flurry circling around to face you. From there, you just dodge into her second flurry like always.

The secret to waterfowl (big ball of fuck you slashes) is run away if you are far away/ roll under her the moment the attack starts if you are close for part one, roll straight into the attack for part two, and then WALK BACKWARDS AND TO THE SIDE on the third part (it trips up her ai and she goes around you). It worked very consistently for me. Once you get that down, the fight becomes MUCH easier to manage.

he will get it eventually. it took me 20 hours in my original playthrough, but i had figured out a consistent strat for every move with my character, using a great shield for waterfowl dance. also it took me 30 hours or more each to do a few of these bosses on a challenge run, malenia will probably take me 60, and though he’s not as nerfed as that, he is effectively doing a challenge run through not having a consistent strat for waterfowl, neither it seems for the phantoms, and is basically gambling in that way.

I tried fighting Malenia hundreds of times, then one evening after taking melatonin and about to go to bed accepting the fact that I’ll not beat her, I defeated her. 😂
That’s how it was with my fight in Witcher 2, with Saskia/the Dragon, shit, I was having such a good time, but decided to sleep, once I did it again after waking up, did that shit pretty quickly, but don’t remember if it was right after I woke up or a few attempts in.

stop relying on stunning her and be more reactionary instead of proactive, roll/jump attacks are really good for this. You can also dodge her waterfowl up close or guard for the first couple of strikes and then dodge the rest.
PointCrow, for the love of god, PLEASE upgrade your vigor. The one you have right now is for mid-game at best. You're practically at the end

Edit: I think slime also had like double his vigor which helped.
