He's absolutely right. Here in Germany, managers always complain about Premier League buying their best players - five minutes later, they sign another talent from Stade Rennais...
😂
Rightfully so. France has the best talents and in Germany there is higher chance that they can play in international competitions
It’s not even true tho. Is Timo Werner the best? Havertz? Players stay at these clubs for a long time and they receive huge fees, unlike in France where clubs are so poorly ran they lose players prematurely or they keep them until they have little value.
@@pazthepole2814 Well, I didn't say "the best German players", but the best players from German clubs. Apart from München and Dortmund (to a much lesser degree, see Haaland), all German clubs suffer from it. Take the last two transfer periods (Summer 23 and Winter 23/24): Leipzig alone lost Gvardiol (Man City), Szoboszlai (Liverpool) and Nkunku (Chelsea). Other notable examples are Freiburg's Flekken and Schade (both Brentford), Stuttgart's Endo (Liverpool) and Mavropanos (West Ham) or Leverkusen's Diaby (Aston Villa). But you can go on: Wolfsburg's Van de Veen (Tottenham), Möchengladbach's Beyer (Burnley), Bremen's Gruev (Leeds).... I don't say that all of them do well in the Premier League, but they were very important for their clubs in Germany.
And by the way: Yes, Kai Havertz was considered Leverkusen's finest player when he left for Chelsea in 2020...

It's unfortunate that Lyon and Marseille cannot be as competitive as PSG and bring more excitement and respectability to French football. 😢
It would be good for a group from the Arab world to invest in them like PSG, that would make a lot of difference and bring more responsibility for professionalism.

@@dchegu your comment has nothing to do with the present as Lyon are so far behind PSG now. I started watching football during Lyon's dominance and their team back then was a solid team, well respected and feared by Europe's best teams (especially Real Madrid) unlike this PSG team who are laughable considering the resources they have. PSG seems to think that their status matches the global status of their city. 😂
As a PSG fan, I would love for a couple of those clubs to be more competitive. If you remember, Monaco had a takeover around the same time as PSG...they had players like James Rodriguez and Falcao) but their owner got divorced and never really financially recovered from that.

Yes but how much since Bosman ruling? 1 for Rotterdam and I think it's done... Nederland and France have the same problem, they are less attractive 💶. And before the 80's french teams don't stay on the top for decades like Bayern, real Madrid or Ajax: Reims during the 50's st Étienne in the 70's. Marseille were good in the 80'/90's but after winning the CL, they were banned for corruption in French league.
PSG can't whine about money either
Yeah but every other french club cant even compete domestically
The point went over your head. PSG has money but the other 17 clubs....not so much. And because of that, it has consequences such as the inability to retain young talents which is important in a league's development.
PSG is the sole representative of Ligue 1 in Europe because they actually have money and can punch at the same level as the super rich clubs that are already at the top
That proves Henry's point more because that's the only reason Mbappe is still in France. Money dictates where players go

Its always been that way. I think France besides PSG never had a team with money to keep talent in France. If PSG focus on youth development alla Dortmund or Ajax, that alone could make them the best and challenge. Would be a smart move too as it'll solve players playing for the shirt over a paycheck
They Dutch and the Italian leagues ruled in the 80s n 90s
Too much taxes in France. When you give 100 eur to an employee, you also give 100 eur to the state.
Some taxes are capped but you must earn above 250 000 euros to know that detail. That's 2500 times the simple amount you considered as an example and when you earn that much, you can hire an accountant to make you pay even less taxes than the average worker does in France. That's the reality of super rich people which I presume you and I don't know.
@@francoisperrin7397 The question was: why french clubs can't keep their best players, to be more competitive? Mostly because of lack of money: less tv rights, highest income and corporation taxes in Europe, ...Last year Psg paid 180 millions of contribution, none of other french clubs can afford to do that. Plus the DNCG control that prevent french clubs from being in deficit.
Looooool so the Saudi is the best competitive league for you ???? Leave France alone
Interesting what Henry says but Germany won the World Cup a few years ago but most of them played in Germany. They didn't play in Spain and England.
Was that Thierry taking a pish on the Dutch VOC East India Company 3/400 years after?! 😂
The only team in France that has the ability to hang on to players is psg. Other clubs are forced to let their best talents leave
The Italians took quite a few too back in the 90s
The problem is also high taxations at the club level which makes it difficult to bring players except for PSG who have unlimited money. We are in the business of selling our players. Our club are solid but not as good however the national team is great because the massive experience our players are getting. England on the other hand doesn't really export their players. Great clubs but national team not so much.
Thierry is right ✅️ it's the money money. Period.
I mean like Thierry said, it’s obviously money.
The average annual salary in Ligue 1 (minus PSG) is about €1m … that’s about €20k per week.
There are players in the English Championship on £20k a week. The average is around £10k a week.
In the Premier League the average is £60k a week.
So if a player has a choice to stay in France at anywhere other than PSG, or move to a Premier League club and earn £40k-£60k then OF COURSE they’re gonna make that move, a professional football career lasts around 16-18 years on average, and if you can guarantee yourself £50k a week for 5 years then you’d be stupid not to take it and stay earning £20k a week
But why are they all leaving PSG? Cause they are not given a chance
The players are where the money is. Doesn't matter what country it's in.
Ligue 1 was top 3 league at one point during during the 80s and 90s. Which is why Marseille won in 93'.
It's not just that other clubs are buying talent from those countries, but those countries themselves are using their resources to scout talent globally instead of focusing on the talent within their own country. It goes both ways.
So then the question would be why some countries have more money ? What economic system do they manage to pu in place ? What strategy did they have at some points to make it happen ? I think we don't really have the same fan base, people like football in France but not as much as other countries.
premier league, mostly tv money
@@user-vg8mv6bb7o how much is it for you to watch PL and CL ? Here L1 is about 23 euros and 19 euros for CL.
He's right, I know he's French 🍟 but he's actually right
Money builds teams. The days of one club men like Scowles, Giggs and more are no longer with us.
Brazil won a lot with almost all players abroad.
