And what was she supposed to do when her character was literally destroyed? The real Elena always chose and would choose Stefan. Elena vampir is a totally different character. And I don't mean her relationship, but her Elena vampir herself did things that Elena human would never do. A good example is when Elena human said to Stefan in 3s that she would not love the spirit forever and what did Elena vampir in 6s? She drank some herbs and imagined damon. This is the difference between them Elena vampir was a hypocrite and a totally different figure. Because vampirism should NOT change it that much.
I confess I don't see what all the fuss is about Elena and Damon. I liked them in the beginning but when she became a vampire she seemed to just encourage his worst tendencies and he hers. It always seemed like Elena and Stefan were endgame and I believe if the show lasted longer (!) they were planning on circling back to them, but since Nina Dobrev left they didn't feel they had time to do it justice without betraying the Delena storyline/fans. However, I quickly grew bored of too much focus on Elena doing too much of the same thing, so I don't know if I could have stood for more. I am glad they had a good scene between Stefan and Elena in the finale. If it couldn't be Elena/Stefan I'm glad it was Caroline/Stefan. I am glad Bonnie got the love she deserved from Enzo, but always loved her with Damon. They had great chemistry, she challenged him, and he really would have redeemed himself with her help.

Am I the only one who hardly ever ships the endgame couples? It’s never intentional, but they’re just almost always the ones who are toxic or absolutely annoying. The best pairings are the subtle, healthy, and organic ones like these that also aren’t shoved down the viewers’ throats. Usually the harder writers push, the more loathsome and artificial the relationship seems.
Nope, I don’t ship endgame couples at all... They didn’t work out for a reason and I usually hate the ones involved in some stupid love triangle drama. Watching this video and the only couples I like are the ones where someone has died.
