I have to say that this style of throttle (I have the CM3) also works perfectly well for helicopters.
It does not move the same as a collective, but it really does not need to. The V-22s throttle control lever moves similarly for example.
I have it set up, so that throttle forward = collective up, that way it works the same as in the V-22 and Harrier and it does the trick for helicopter sim flying just fine.
Congratulations on your new studio.
I hope they will also announce a complete flightstick at this price.
Just a corner in the living room, but hey :D thanks!
...i just started researching HOTAS devices and watched your earlier videos on HOTAS this morning. And the same day you upload this? Spooky...very spooky.
destiny is calling you. You know what to do
This is an interesting “mid-range” option.
The detents are a bit lackluster, going by other reviews, but I like the flap lever position and the overall shape of the throttle. I would have liked it if it also had a scroll encoder, i.e. like the X52 (Pro) has in addition to its axis dials.
The VKB STECS Mini and Mini Plus are direct competitors to this, which feature more buttons, but fewer true axes (1 aside from the throttles themselves). Though the 2 scroll encoders can be made to function as virtual axes.
The Mk.II. version has the option to have a ministick on the thumb or index finger position. Or both!
Would need to try that, but it does look a bit pricey compared to the VPC option. It's missing a scrolling wheel, true. Still really nice for not taking your hand away flying.
That looks amazing!!! Thanks for the video!!!
Thank you for watching!!! :D
The Cadet is my favorite for VR. In Elite Dangerous under VR you dont need all these buttons. I will get one soon ! Much better than the Thrustmaster. Thanks for you Video ! Dankeschön 🙂
Aber sicher doch 🫡
Nice new studio, cap! :)
Just missing some quality like you do. Though, I won't even touch that many sticks in my life like you already did xD (dirty minds, stop!)
@@CaptainCollins Lol @ sticks. Dude I think the quality totally is there. Love the setup. I'd need more space here to build such a scenery as you have there.
I just demanded a place in our living room :D Wife accepted and so we have a youtube studio behind our TV couch now :P
@@CaptainCollins That's awesome. All glory to the Captain's wifey!
i opened up the back of the thrustmaster and greased it, theres a screw on the back to adjust the stiffness
yep, already did a short about it which helped a lot of people. :)
Thanks for a video! I was thinking about getting a hotas for a long time. Would this will be enough with some stick for most of the cosmosims like elite or star citizen and etc.? Heard somewhere that double sticks are better, but I would like to be on a smaller budget but not cut too much on quality. Can you please suggest which of vipril sticks to get? (Vipril can deliver to my country so it's a more preferable option), or is there more better option for a same price that I can look into? Thank you in advance! P.S. is hotas or hosas better for cosmosims?
Ok, so first: thanks for watching :) Now, will the throttle be enough for cosmo sims? Yes, I think it's enough for you to be happy about having a different input than a keyboard. Although you will still need to use one, but even with more buttons on your devices, you will probably use a keyboard anyway as a third device. So yeah, it will be enough. Now two sticks: I really like two sticks, because especially cosmo sims require a lot of strafing, which is easier to manage with a second stick. Strafing left and right, thrust and reverse thrust and strafing up and down can be done with the stick, but not that easy with a throttle. If you really want to go Virpil, than take a look at a double Constellation Alpha setup with one Z-extension. Hope that helps :)
@CaptainCollins Thanks mate! I ended up watching your other videos and seteled on dual gladiator evo premium one of them is on angle, i belive it was caled omni. Turns out official store in my country cant import them directly, but they have another stor on Aliexpress, thou i had to pay extra 60$ for shiping
Great you found a solution :) You won't be dissappointed with the VKB sticks!
@@CaptainCollins Thanks
