Thank you for sharing your knowledge with these great videos. Is there a level of surface preparation (sanding or sealing?) that is suggested for best results? I would like to use a red paint as the base, rub back the gilded surface with steel wool, followed by shellac to get the antiqued look...is that possible with oil gilding/metal leaf?
