Great to see you back James. Gald to hear family doing well. Them condos are too claustrophobic for my liking, rather have a house like yours. Great video, James, and very good to see you again.
I was looking at purchasing a condo in Bangkok over 5 years ago instead of renting. I did the calculations and one must look at the service charge and it did not make sense to buy. The population of Thailand is actually falling (people having less children) so one would expect the population to fall in the long term. One would also expect a lot of administration jobs to go with AI and again one would expect the demand for condos to fall and hence the prices and rent.
I think a condo like that is ok for rental or just as a pied de terre but living in those hi rise is a bit of a nightmare and they are so small. I did live in one for a few weeks when i first moved to Bangkok from Singapore in On Nut ; the walls were paper thin and it was just so claustrophobic. Great video and thanks for the honesty. not sure if it si good or bad news by wine will be reducing in price a they are scrapping duty on imported wines. Happy New Year

They do seem like good value though - a buddy here in Buriram told me he sold his condo in BKK for 11.5 million baht, when he moved here to retire and start a small farm. He bought it of 3.5 million but that was many yrs ago. Location was in the Sukhumvit area though.
Yes the place in tiny . No room for improvement thats why they give you the built ins as there is nothing else you can do with it . Grim concrete box in the sky .
Hi James Long time no hear, took your advice months ago with the coconut oil for my farmers ,have had no luck and must have drank gallons of the stuff, might as well just stuck it up my arse 😁
My first comment after 4 months. I'm not sure if u r taking the piss but put on your arse not in your stomach.😅 Has to be unrefined, cold filtered, organic. Good luck 👍🤞.😎
For the distance outside of central Bangkok, it is too expensive. I was looking at buying a second hand 3 year old condo of 40 m2 in Ari and that was 3.2 million with only 6 floors. I would not buy a condo in a building of more than 6 floors. You also have to expect the service charge to basically double every 6 years.
I think the architect is a fan of former soviet union chemical processing plants. As you panned up to reveal it in all its glory I was getting Union Carbide vibes. Inside you could really stretch out. Assuming you are a dwarf with mobility issues. 269 sq feet for 65,000 pounds. I just bought a 1 bed flat in the UK for 175k so this would seem very cheap I guess. But actually that flat is a very roomy 810 sq feet so actually on a per sq feet basis its the same price. For a condo right up against a massive noisy motorway that's not exactly Thong Lor. The flat I just bought will rent easily for 1100 quid a month unfurnished. So 50,000 baht. I could buy 2.5 of these for the same price so total rental would be 25,000 baht - exactly half the UK yield. Regardless, I have all the legal protections and understand the market in the UK so personally I feel its a better choice for me to buy there and use the rental proceeds to rent in Thailand. That way my asset and capital appreciation will be in the market I know well. I just don't know enough about how much Thai condos appreciate over a long time horizon. In Edinburgh I do.
Come on Jimmy lad. Life is too short for all that nonsense, even if it is ad-hoc. Tiny, cramped rooms... a balcony so small you couldn't swing a cat's left testicle... The relentless traffic of Bangkok thundering along an adjacent highway that you could almost spit on. It's hardly living the dream. Why not look for a townhouse in a moo baan? Much more space, character, and local stuff all around you. Cheaper, also. Think of all those fake plastic trees you could buy :) Proper tune, that. I can empathize. I turned fifty, six months ago. Out of nowhere, I have suddenly started thinking about the limited time we have. It's a thought that has never bothered me before, but now I cant stop thinking about it. I stumbled on a photo the other day of my 40th birthday party, and it completely blew my mind: it genuinely feels like 4 years ago, not 10. Then again, its remarkable that I survived the nineties. Glad to see you back. Be lucky mate.

Learn from the many don’t follow the herd all of the Americans and Europeans,Canadians,Australians moving to Bangkok and Pattaya those will be the same and first ones fleeing from Thailand soon.Thailand is so much more and bigger than Bangkok and Pattaya it’s a shame that that’s the only go to place that most people think of moving to but I’m not surprised because of the convenience and they have stores that there used to🤔🤣which in my opinion isn’t smart. When u move across the world you want to challenge yourself not surround yourself with nothing but convenience 🤔.

Yes, good thinking. If u have properties in the UK, renting is probably a better option. All the best.👍🍺
Think of all those fake plastic trees you could buy :)
Proper tune, that.
Cheers mate. Hope you're doing well. Yes I've been here over 20 years now and it's gone by in a flash so, hopefully the next 20 years doesn't go so fast. All the best. 👍
Like Luton??
Wembley?😅
@@jamesabroad8589 could be worse… Stevenage can be interesting! We’ve thankfully also left the UK.
Yeah this video should be titled the resurrection of James😊
😅👍🍺
Cozy=Cramped AF!
Liked.
That 25 sq. Meter condo is a no go. Nothing nice about it
Definitely in the middle of nowhere and their building manager was not welcoming
Disagree and she was a very nice lady.
Why is the estate agent wearing a mask?
She wanted to I suppose. 👍
Stupid question,
Pretty common in asian countries, even before covid 😂
50 for FFS! I just hit 69 and I'm not talking about the position😂
And no bathroom unstairs 👎
R ppl really still wearing masks
Yep, not just because of COVID.👍🍺
