Google Pixel Watch: it's the smartwatch we've been eagerly waiting for. While it doesn't seem to disrupt the market, Google's latest wearable is great about design, good about software and "meh" about battery performance. Which are its key strengths and weaknesses? Let's find out!

Great watch but battery life is a concern since it only lasts about 24 hours and I'll just stick to my fitness tracker where I get 7-10 day battery life
@@ghostedsuicidethe apple watch probably does last alittle longer but not by much though
The Apple watch SE 2022 lasts about the same .
I take it that the 112 in the heart rate was when you found out you need Fitbit premium lol.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 touche!

Nice looking device from Google but the 1st gen drawbacks are way too many and deal breakers for it to be considered, even less outside the official Google markets. Glad to hear a more realistic point of view
Thanks Ivo! Yeah, there are some drawbacks, but most of the negatives are software-related, so I think it will get a lot better in time. And although it doesn't sound like it - I do like the watch a lot!
@@TechMishka -- TBH, If Google's response to their failures with the WearOS is any measure, it will never, ever, get better. They've had years to work on their battery problem -- 8+ years down, and their battery life still sucks.
Edit: If you want a "Google Watch", but find the $399 a high price, go for the Moto360 (on sale @ $199) or the Moto 100 (full price @ $99). At least, both their default faces are pretty good, but battery life still sucks!
The term "complications" is not attached to Apple watches, its a term utilized to the functions of watches in general, like "date, day of the week, chronometer"
Thanks for the clarification! Appreciated.
If they would've made a larger model with a larger battery without the fit bit requirement they could've taken all my money. Sad 😞
Feels like the OS is the major issue when it comes to battery. Even if they put 1000mAh battery, it will still struggle to deliver good battery life.
I just purchased two. one for my husband and myself. I will personally use mine for basic use like agenda, reminders, the time and for my calls. My husband will use his for a more functional way for him to go throughout his day for work, he does plumbing and is a bit busy to always reach for his phone so the Google watch will help him not have to stop what he's doing to go get his phone and see who's calling him and who's texting him as the watch previews your messages and obviously shows your calls. One cool thing that I definitely noticed on mine was that we have our ring camera connected and it shows you previews of whoever that you're front door or any cameras have movement. I thought that was a cool feature. I will definitely touch bases on this video as time goes by, hopefully in a couple of months.
Are you both happy with the watch?
I really hope you will like this watch a lot!
If I'm a pixel user, and have never used an iPhone or any other phone before, is it worth buying?
Perhaps at this very moment the Galaxy Watch 4/5 is the better option. But I feel like Pixel Watch is slowly getting there.
@@TechMishka i actually got an iPhone 12 recently, and i am getting an apple watch s7 for Christmas this year. exciting
What were they thinking with the battery 🤦
Guess they were optimistic up until they were no longer that optimistic 🙃
Where did you find this watchface? It looks great.
It was among the free watch faces in the app Facer
Whats the name of the pixel arcade face that you applied on your watch
It was one of the free watchdaces included with Facer and I no longer remember the name...
Great review! for some reason didn't expect from you a review about the Pixel watch, I've been waiting for this watch to come out ever since it was first rumored!
But sadly I must admit, it's a total disappointment in my opinion!
The worst battery life as you said, the not so good design, it looks cool but the screen isn't big and it will crack for sure easily, the fitbit integration that requires some premium account for some things and nothing really good here to save the WearOS.
BTW, complications word comes as far as I know from older analogue watches, so everyone will use it here as well.
After seeing this, sadness (and you know me by now, I'm a Google fan boy!) I ended up getting a different Smart watch but for this, you know where to find out what it is ;-)
So far liking it
I may surprise you by saying this, but I actually like the Pixel watch. Feeling is superb, and if it wasn't for the battery life - I'd gladly wear it for longer time.
Thanks for the "complications" clarification! Looks like the Chinese alternatives use other kind of terminology.
I was thinking of trying the new Pixel phones too, but the lack of 24fps in their camera apps made me stay away.
@@TechMishka Really? the lack of 24fps is what stopped you? wow! haha.
Well since it takes me lately way too long to put out videos as life happens (mostly good things) I will say it, I've got the Samsung Watch 5 Pro and I really love it including it's battery life
Since there's a Black Friday sale for the Pixel Watch so I'm thinking about getting the bluetooth/Wifi version. My main concern is the battery life. If it lasts an entire day with the AOD on, that's okay. I'm not sure yet.
In my case - the difference between AOD on or off was hard to notice.
Those are so e nice watch faces on your pixel watch where can I get them and what are they called 😊
This is one of the free watchfaces offered in the app Facer.
What's the name of the watchface at time stamp 11:32 ?
I have it, I got it a few days ago and I LOVE it. It doesn't last a full 24 hours but it doesn't take long at all to charge it. It charges a lot faster than my phone. I'm so glad I decided to get it.
Hell yeah! Can't wait to get mine glad to hear some positives about it! It was cheaper than some of the flagships as well and competes pretty hard I see. Man googles really doing well making good phones and good watches all at affordable prices. These other big companies should follow suit! 👍 Good job google!
Have you ever used a different smartwatch? I'm curious if its as good
@@lenacheney Yes, I've had one of the Fitbit charges, the Fitbit sense, the Fitbit inspire, and a Samsung watch.
The battery of the pixel watch could last 24 hours if you adjust the settings and use it minimally (I haven't tried). Even without adjusting anything, it still stays alive long enough for me.
@@jessicarichter9561 do you like it better than the samsung? I heard it has neat features like making appointments or Reservations for you is that true?
@@lenacheney I like it more than the Samsung I had 3 or 4 years ago. The pixel has a better battery than that one. I like the way it looks more than the Samsung watches they have now.
your vidoes are really good .
Sounds like I should start doing them on TikTok too, huh 🙃?
I like the watch, but they need to reduce the price to compete w the galaxy 5
Agreed!
I noticed you mentioned "if youTube music works". When I had the watch even after downloading my playlists, I had trouble with the app. When I would arrive at the gym, it would more likely not work. I'd have to reboot the watch and then it would work. Is this the same for you?
I don't use RUclips music very often, and didn't notice any troubles. But I have used it for like a total of 2 hours.
@@TechMishka it's working much better now. It must have been updated recently.
There isnt any reasons for me to switch cause it gives "same experience as the Apple watch" ...
👍
Works with Samsung charger? Are you sure?
Hey Stephen, thanks for catching it. I have uploaded the wrong version - but since now it is too late, I will try to fix it via the RUclips's editor.
According to Google - the watch doesn't have official Qi-support and while you can see the animation about charging beginning, it doesn't charge (I mean - the battery percentage doesn't go up).
I can't understand how people are paying $400 for a smart watch.
Many of them are paying $800 for some "Ultra"-watches 🥳
@@TechMishka Yuck why? I guess ppl spend as they wish. The pixel I feel at least can be bigger. Looks small enough for a young kid .
I had this and got rid of it due to it tracking steps while I was a passenger in a car, 30 steps a minute
Not bad! You could easily walk a lot of kilometers each day without really walking 🙃
Mibro Gs
Soon! 😉
More like a total crap, cant see a reason to replace my watch with that
Nah, it definitely has strong sides and potential is great - if they get to work on some software improvements, chances are that this will become a great smart watch.
@@TechMishka The only things that it have that are better then huawel gt2 pro, are disabled :) I was hoping it will be much better, im an old fitbit fan.
Shouldn't be more than $150
Nah, it's Google...
@@TechMishka They're way late to the game with just another smart watch and charging more than galaxy wear 😂 that bezel is ugly thick too
Never held it in my hands, but for me it's a hard pass. Non-standard watch bands, huge bezel, unprotected glass, awful battery life, the fitbit subscription shenanigans, and generally the still beta state of Wear OS (remember when Assistant was broken for over half a year on Wear OS 2? That was fun!) and the fact that Google likes to kill products and Wear OS looks like it's on it's last leg already after over a year being late, so nah, nope, I'm keeping the Galaxy Active 2 (it still goes 3-4 days between charges), even though I no longer use a Samsung phone, the Tizen OS is better for me. Or maybe I'll dig up the Pebble. The Pixel watch seems to be an expensive, half baked beta.
Galaxy Active 2 is one of the best watches ever designed by Samsung. Looks like Tizen OS wasn't that bad after all!
I think the Pixel Watch can get a lot better after some software updates. Feeling is really nice, we have to admit that.
It's not awful battery life. I'd charge it at the end of every day, put it on again in the morning. At least, I don't wear mine to sleep.
Battery lasts me all day including an hour in the gym each day. I charge back to 100% while getting ready in the morning. It charges very fast. I use AOD and don’t make any compromises in use.
Good to know that!
I am a little concerned about my battery, because the last 20% discharge happen too quickly...
Nice video
Thank you!
Buy a Galaxy Watch 4 for 150€ or a Huawei Watch Fit 2 for 90€
Yeah but i am looking to buy something that connects to Wifi and Google usage
@@manojar20 Galaxy Watch 🤷🏽♂️
@@rolins3279 i think so
I saw Galaxy Watch 4 the other day for 115EUR. Pretty good price!
@@TechMishka Oh, Was it on Amazon?
