You played this one before right? I did this last time and loved it! Early on you need to buy a few $5 maybe $20 oil packs but shouldn't drop more that $50 (Just buy the special time limited ones, i.e. oil well lv5 pack...). The second the Mercenary trials open you need to do those which will give you a lot of oil and you won't need to buy packs again! That said, if your not a strong player, you will struggle with these as they are dependent on your fighting stats and this will leave you with a budget hole.
You should by week 2/3 be able to unlock Merc level 3 and have the full 500k mercenary compliment, who you can use for KE day or just use to trade for 5m points on KE day with a friend.
The most important thing is to get the base to lv25 and unlock lv2 mercenaries (same strength as T4). Try not to use speedups but don't be shy to use them early on to get ahead of the curve. Oh and don't bother robbing oil, you get so little vs the trials it's pointless. I think I have about 18m barrels left over last time.
In terms of burning money early on to finish the tree, it will help you in the sense just like T3 dies before T4, Lv2 dies before Lv3... it's not game changing, if you are say a 200m player with elite kings set, your not suddenly going to be able to take on a 500m or 1bl player!

Microphone volume has been increased, should see some improvements after the next couple videos as some are prerecorded. I also have a new software to try out to make my microphone even better!
