My late father was OC Trg BTN & Depot REME (Rowcroft Bks). I worked at SEE. We lived at 19 Stephenson Road. This was in the 80's. Great memories. Thanks for the memories. Arte et Marte mate xxx
Thanks Andrew - I walk across those rugby pitches every day and always wondered if I would come across an ex-REME player. The Depot area you mentioned has a preserved Infirmary now from where the WWI horses were returned. Bramshill Hunt pub is now a Co-Op (as of last week). having lived around the area all my life, it is such a shame the REME left - its a ghost town of memories now
I went to the AAC at Princess Marina Barracks intake 98C. Royal signals so then went on to Blandford. Happy memories of basic training as a apprentice and being allowed in to Reading on a Saturday. We weren’t allowed to drink alcohol which of course we didn’t!
We are one of the families living in these new build houses. It will indeed be very sad for someone who was connected to this garrison. The memories, the lives made. Painful but then new stories are being built. That is time.
Lived there in 80-82 - I was 6. I remember Farley Hill! Thanks for the video Andrew - so much gone now - I remember going to the Mess on Princess Marina Drive!
Heartbreaking. I attended SEE from 1994-95 while there it changed to SEAE. I never knew it had been demolished. What a waste of a great school. Some of the best times in my short Army career was there.
You were there same time as me. I was there from October '84 as well. Think I finished in January '85 so maybe one course behind you or maybe we were together. I went to SEE
Um I live in arborfield and that is NOT the garrison and what you were doing then was illegal. Whilst you were filming arborfield STUDIOS they were filming the movie Aladdin there. Therefore you are leaking info so stop ok??
I was at PMC, 85b, thanks for the trip down memory lane.:-)

Glad it brought it back good memories, even non-drinking ones😉
