Paladin with Holy Hands + Smite is probably the best build in the game right now. Early game Paladin, you really want to go bleed hammers though until you get all the gear.
@@kgldjkgur2046 my first char was wraithlord. it's pretty boring, but also has it's own frustrations like when the game decides to drop your dread shade on one of the wraiths or your tp is down and a necro/poison tower one shots your wraithlord from full.
Playing a melee channeling HH build. Can sustain 20k ward at level 85 and have seen up to 23k ward at times. Going for 70k ward and just tank the world
My main gripe with PoE is how much you have to learn to be able to get into craft and Last Epoch have it simplified. There are things that are drop only, true, but you can get very decent gear without having to know 800 ways of crafting
I consider poe being the better game, but I do agree with crafting. Crafting in last epoch just feels so approachable. The question is, is it too easy? I don't know.
@@Trinedyy It's all very simple : PoE IS a better game, if you have enough knowledge to actually play the game and make use of its intricate mechanics. While LE, or if you want a more braindead version of an ARPG D4, you just play and chill. Not like you can't tryhard LE or Grim Dawn for example, you can, but it's not even close to tryharding PoE and the amount of stuff you have to learn to fully enjoy its potential. Crafting in LE is deterministic and rather simple, but it's enjoyable and the whole loot system is basically encouraging players to play around with the crafting, PoE is the opposite :D A new player opens crafting menu(s) and is like "nope, gonna play tetris instead". That's why i think what they're planning to do with PoE 2 to make the game easier to learn and more streamlined is a great decision (that many if not majority of PoE players don't like, obviously :D). The initial plan to just fuse both games together, with this in mind, would not work based on the reaction from playerbase, so thank god they didn't do it and separated both games. Can't wait for PoE 2 to properly jump into the game, can't be bothered with learning all the shit for hundreds of hours at least in PoE that i've missed for the past decade, tried a few times and it was too much of a time investment. But again, great game for people who want and like theorycrafting more than anything and fry their brains trying to figure out tens of different variables at once to make the build work.
@@DoctorStrange01PoE COULD be the better game, but it makes so many mistakes. I don't like it at all anymore, and ive played on/off since open beta. I think PoE is worse, simply because it has all these mechanics yet 1 or 2 builds end up being the most broken thing and almost everyone plays that. Last epoch has like 10 super viable builds for a single subclass alone.
@@Huckle777 PoE has its own flaws like many useless unique items and more, but the amount of variety of content you can do is not comparable. Also just because there are a few broken builds doesn't mean there aren't many other that are able to clear high tier stuff, that's just false. Also 10 viable builds for a single subclass is a bit much, which subclass has 10 viable builds (viable = high corruption for me) ? As for LE, if the classes will have like double the amount of skills they have now (all customizable of course), it will be hard to beat in terms of build variety, currently it's solid but not there yet for thousands of hours in my opinion. I am sure they will keep adding both skills and items though.
Yeah the beginning of this video points out one of the few things about LE that kind of irks me. There are skills that you will always take for certain archetypes. You need to go out of your way to not use Volatile Reversal & chances are you are making your build worse off. It's not the end of the world but it feels bad in some way.
I too think that PoE 2 is going to be a bit of a let down. I think GGG is betting on people to play both games rather than pit the OG vs 2. Financially if someone buys their mtx/packs GGG wins, but the biggest issue will be how they allocate their resources if one is overwhelming preferred over the other.
Most what I think is fair to say universally agreed GOAT games are sequels: Diablo 2, Skyrim, Red Alert, Quake 2 and 3 etc etc... Aficionados are just notoriously nostalgic.

I've been playing PoE for over 10 years now and I agree. For me, PoE's issue is that it can actually be exhausting to play.
