Dark Empire will win due to having better fleet and better super weapons like galaxy gun . Plus the Dark Empire has Super Star Destroyers and World Devastators, spacecrafts far superior to that oversized Mega Star Destroyer and Dreadnought the First Order has. Its also run by more competent individuals, Palpatine and Luke Skywalker. Kylo did not defeat Luke Skywalker canon Legends
@@gianghoang4831 I do disagree about Palpatine being competent. He encouraged a lot of infighting between Imperials, and he lost tons of useful warships, especially the super star destroyers. However, compared to Hux and Snoke - definitely a much more competent, effective, and charismatic leader.

I feel like this goes to the interdictor despite the raw firepower per weapon. For a ship of its size the DCH has fairly light and sparse weaponry. We don't know about ion cannon numbers on the Interdictor Cruisers (if any), but they have a significant number of medium, dual turbo laser batteries. The number of turbo laser bolts firing in the scene that shows just Malak's Interdictor (Not any special variant) firing dozens in rapid succession down on Taris. I think that even if they're considered light turbo lasers by the Russan era, the fire rate on them would be more than enough to pickup the slack on a per shot basis. It was the battleship of Era, and Revan managed to pull off taking the majority if not all of the ones remaining in service at the end of the Mando wars.

Resurgent star destroyer is the perfect upgrade of the original star destroyer. Getting rid of the old weaknesses such as a lack of small ship defence and over exposed areas such as the bridge but retaining the raw power, capital ship Vs design retained from the original star destroyer design.
I think the resurgent is cool looking but for what the First Order was, it seems like the opposite of what they should have. Yes! I've been asking for this Starship versus for years! Thank you for making it. And I do generally agree with your jugdement, but I think you did a mistake taking starfighters out of the equation. The Resurgent has an advantage there, because it not only has much more advanced fighters, it also has a point defense system. The Bellator focuses ob heavy weaponry so much, that it propably has no signifikant number advantage. So while the Resurgent can easily repell fighters the Bellator is vulberable and will likely fall prey to getting their subsystems destroyed one by one. It might not be quite enough for the Resurgent to win, but it makes the versus much closer then you predicted I think.
This is a good point and yet it would probably matter, if the Resurgence stayed out of turbolaser range, whil the fighters did their thing. Otherwise, it is shot down before the foghters can have an effect🤷
this matchup really needs information about the fighters on both sides. Resurgent being very much a carrier obviously limits it's firepower. If it was an updated Allegiance-like ship it would do much better in the slugfest (although would probably still lose to the super heavy turbolasers and insane ion power)
Am I the only one wondering why a Resurgent has over 1500 ion cannons, turbolasers and point defense cannons? I doubt the ship has enough power and space for it

@@altf4tocringe105 When you compare it to other bigger ships it still has much more weapons That is has smaller weapons is a good explanation (some Websites say that it has much heavy weapons)
The millenium falcon can field two sets of quadlasers. These small things are, well, small. If you really wanted to, you could cover a WW2 battleship with a ludicrous number of Bofors or something if you wanted to for some reason (it would cause some concern against aircraft to say the least). The Belator appears to forgo large numbers of normal ship to ship weapons for basically using its sheer size and output to mount the WW2 equivalent of rapid fire Gustav rail cannons rather than focus on large spreads of smaller weapons. So basically, most of that 1500 number is probably smaller weapons like non-turbo lasers (i.e. the "point defense" stuff, which could very well include quad lasers similar to the falcon's). Those cannons on the belator are larger than some frigates, and could probably pretty handily take one out in a single shot. They are meant to take massive amounts of hurt and apply it liberally to other large capital ships, including star destroyer type vessels.
Would be interesting to see a similarly thought out matchup between an Allegiance-class and a Resurgent, which might be a fairer match for the Resurgent
Justin, the Bellator was brought into official Canon around 2016 in a Canon source book. It, along with the Asserter-class, were limited production alternatives to what I would assume was the Mandator III
Woah. Back to the basics. I missed this kinda spaceship powerscaling, glad you put another one out! As far as requests, I like the few pieces of Star Wars that are actually good; The Eewoks and Droids cartoons. Could you find an opponent for The Great Heep?
I admit in a 1v1 I do Agree With Eckhart on this one but I also Agree that we need more infor for the Combined Fleet of the first order in General. As There has to be more then what we had been shown in the three bad movies.
It's great to see this series again. I really like the Bellator, the design(of course it could be better but by Imperial standards it's great), Weapon placement and the use of Anti Fighter weapons is perfection and it's fast to boot. All and all the Bellator should have been a ship in every fleet rather then that dumb Executor. The Resurgent is a great design besides the trenches and the open space in the hull but it's a another example of scaling up rather than redesigning and refitting, it's especially bad considering their a rump Remnant faction at this point they need smaller but potent and tough ships maybe not rebel alliance levels but this is ridiculous. The resurgent just doesn't fully learn the lessons from the failure of the Empire nor does it properly adapt to the scarcity of the situation.
honestly the resurgence hanger design i like, making the tip 2 large gun platforms with the hanger just chillin between them is perfect for the wedge design, its a destroyer 1st or so claimed so the hanger is meh, launch all fighters and start blasting as a spear head with pew pews
forgive me if I sound a bit disrespectful with this but I don't think pitting a dreadnought against a battlecruiser is a very fair match-up it just seems too obvious which one will come out on top 10/10 times, it doesn't feel like there's any meaningful debate there.
This is basically Quantity(Bellator-Class) vs. Quality(Resurgent-Class) in a nutshell. Love both ships, and if I was tasked with building a fleet, these two ships are prime contenders.
Kind of out there, but I'd like to see a TIE fighter vs Zaku II (from Gundam) vid. Despite being a mecha, the zaku really ends up serving more as a close range, mass produced starfighter, so it might be fun to talk about
@EckhartsLadder Here's a funny mashup: Ugly starfighter against each other to find the better! Clawcraft and other too well redesign are prohibed. Please continue your wonderful work : it's so good to hear a fellow Canadian Star Wars fan.
I'd argue that the matchup actually would boil down to which continuity you are using for the setting of the fight itself. In movie cannon, both armor and shields tend to be shredded rather quickly, with supermassive ships being the sole exception (i.e. even Imperial II-Class Star Destroyers can die to concentrated firepower to a weakpoint, or an extremely powerful singular blast). In Legends, capital-to-capital ships are enormous slugfests, with ships slowly being crippled from long-lasting engagements usually by pinpoint strikes; both armor and shields are extremely resistant to all but cataclysmic-level of firepower. This has lead to the different design philosophies seen in both ships: the Bellator is meant to be a mobile starbase, armed with heavy cannons and heavier armor meant to allow it to slug it out for long-term engagements, while being fast enough to disengage in the event someone somehow managed to outgun it. The Resurgent, on the other hand, is a pure DPS bastion, meant to burst down enemy shields and armor in order to achieve battlefield dominance, while having its own shields and armor be just strong enough to withstand the opponent's alpha strike in turn. This also has the additional quirk that the Bellator has much longer weapons range than the Resurgent, since the Bellator has bigger-yet-slower-firing turbolaser batteries; the Resurgent, on the other hand, has upgraded heavy turbolasers that would fire faster, but have shorter range. If the two ships fought in Legends, then the Bellator almost certainly wins, because while the Resurgent's DPS would absolutely be higher, the relative armor difference between the two is staggering enough that a burst ship like the Resurgent just lacks the escort needed to take on a heavier weight class. Particularly, the fight actually comes down to mostly their fighter/bomber compliments, where the Bellator has major advantage in raw deployment numbers. That being said, there is a scenario where the Resurgent could break the Bellator's shields, and disable the Bellator's guns on one side before the Resurgent's own upgraded turbolasers themselves are disabled. Then it is just a matter of the Resurgent keeping away from the Bellator's still-active side, and eventually the Bellator might just fall, if the Resurgent's upgraded TIEs can keep back the Bellator's massive compliment. In Movie Cannon, however, the Bellator would almost certainly suffer from the same lack of effectiveness in at least shields, if not armor. That scenario still favors the Bellator (because of how staggeringly deadly bombers are in Cannon, and the Bellator just has so many of them), but the Resurgent would have a significantly easier time disabling the Bellator's heaviest guns due to the relatively weaker shields. While the Bellator could also disable the Resurgent's guns, they don't fire as quickly, and would struggle to knock out the Resurgent's more technologically advanced shields before the Resurgent got within range. As a final note, the Dark Empire had a massive population and territory advantage over the First Order, which is why it went for ever-larger and ever-beefier SSDs. The First Order, on the other hand, went for relatively smaller SSDs that would be comparatively easier to crew, but had numerous high-technology upgrades that just made them that much better than any counterpart of equal (or lower) tonnage. Considering there was never anything in the Rebel/New Republic fleet that could match an SSD in tonnage, the Resurgent would have been practically untouchable in Cannon timeline. In contrast, Legends had the various SSDs and Imperial assets distributed among the various Imperial successor states, making SSD-vs-SSD/Supercapital combat something that had to be considered for both R&D as well as fleet tactics.
The only thing I would wonder about would be speed combined with range; if the Khyber crystals gave the Resurgent a superior reach and allowed it to ply keep away, if it could choose the battle field to allow it to put its much more advanced sensors to good use I could see it coming out on top. If the Resurgent dropped out of hyperspace right on top of the Bellator, yeah its toast.
The Bellator slays - one of my favorite designs. Would the Allegiance v the Resurgence be a more even fight? I'd love to see some Procursator vs videos if there's enough for you to work with there. It's a perfect, practical ship of the line in my head canon, and another beautiful fractalsponge creation.
Ship vs ideas: 1: UNSC Infinity vs 5 Cerberus class cruisers from Mass Effect 2: 5 Intrepid class ships from Star Trek vs 5 Cerberus class cruisers from Mass Effect 3: 1 Galaxy class, 2 Defiant class and 2 Akira class from Star Trek vs 5 Systems Alliance ships from Mass Effect
There is something very weird and wonderful about the MC-95 star cruiser. According to the information from Wookiepedia, it has stated that this ship is bigger than the First Order's Resurgent class Star destroyer. My best guess is 3.175 km (3175 metres), because it is almost as large as the MC-85 star cruiser from the Last Jedi and the Rise of Skywalker. Nethertheless in my hypothesis, they do also armed with turbolasers that has been sealed inside their hulls and when opened their doors to attack at any capital ships and starfighters from the First Order and the other future enemy factions in 50ABY.
The Bellator class is easily my favorite Super Star Destroyer/Star Dreadnought ship. To me it's not too big like the Executor or Eclipse, but not too small like an Imperial II class. It is JUST the right size to be a sector/task force flagship for power projection, especially if given the right compliment of support ships. I'm actually frothing at the mouth for a strategic/logistics version of it with massive cargo capacity where it can be a mobile resupply/refit vessel, with the best and highest tech sensors/communications/Electronic warfare kits. This would allow it to essentially be a mobile staging area for any campaign. Move it to a secure or hidden position, send your ISD forces to cover different areas, and cycle them back to the rally point for rest, repair, resupply, or debrief. Of course that sort of strategy would rely on the Empire to be a competent foe.n
Fractal actually went back and redid the bellator with his redux version making it even more powerful then before with it's new armament being. 66 720TT HTL 256 240TT HTL 32 heavy ion cannon (~240TT equivalent) 224 40TT HTL 112 heavy missile tubes 163×4 MTL 1246×2 PD guns (1:1 LTL/heavy laser as shown)
How about the NR Nebula and Endurance vs the Resurgent Maybe im underestimating the nebula by itself but given the resurgent’s size and advancement , a 2 v 1 could be interesting

Love to see old timey Ship vs videos again!
Ridiculous suggestions: 1 Death star vs either 1 Zyston or a small fleet. Superweapon vs "Superweapon"
Holy SMOKES new starship vs!
My nostalgia meter is over loaded! Love to see the verses back in action!!!
honestly the resurgence hanger design i like, making the tip 2 large gun platforms with the hanger just chillin between them is perfect for the wedge design, its a destroyer 1st or so claimed so the hanger is meh, launch all fighters and start blasting as a spear head with pew pews
Yesssss I love the vs videos!!
forgive me if I sound a bit disrespectful with this but I don't think pitting a dreadnought against a battlecruiser is a very fair match-up
it just seems too obvious which one will come out on top 10/10 times, it doesn't feel like there's any meaningful debate there.
I have REALLY missed these ❤
I Know we JUST saw the resurgence, but I would love to see a Starhawk vs the Resurgence
Resurgent definitely wins with its more advanced technology
Verses back, feels good
This is basically Quantity(Bellator-Class) vs. Quality(Resurgent-Class) in a nutshell.
Love both ships, and if I was tasked with building a fleet, these two ships are prime contenders.
Let’s go!! We takin it back to 2018 with this one
We're so back
Although I won't lie, I don't get the point of this specific comparison, since it's comically obvious the Bellator will win.
Kind of out there, but I'd like to see a TIE fighter vs Zaku II (from Gundam) vid. Despite being a mecha, the zaku really ends up serving more as a close range, mass produced starfighter, so it might be fun to talk about
Great video!
@EckhartsLadder Here's a funny mashup: Ugly starfighter against each other to find the better! Clawcraft and other too well redesign are prohibed.
Please continue your wonderful work : it's so good to hear a fellow Canadian Star Wars fan.
BABY, Wake up! Eck posted another starship versus 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼❤️❤️❤️
Cr90 picket carrier Farstar\Nightcaller vs Corvus Raider 2 or 2 or 3 Gozanti tie carriers
Ship vs ideas:
1: UNSC Infinity vs 5 Cerberus class cruisers from Mass Effect
2: 5 Intrepid class ships from Star Trek vs 5 Cerberus class cruisers from Mass Effect
3: 1 Galaxy class, 2 Defiant class and 2 Akira class from Star Trek vs 5 Systems Alliance ships from Mass Effect
Versus videos is the cure to Star wars' downfall with their repetitive shows, god bless Eck
Carrack-class light cruiser vs Aquitens-class light cruiser.
I've missed this
The Bellator class is easily my favorite Super Star Destroyer/Star Dreadnought ship.

I demand Arquitens vs Carrack
How about the NR Nebula and Endurance vs the Resurgent
Maybe im underestimating the nebula by itself but given the resurgent’s size and advancement , a 2 v 1 could be interesting
The Nebula was pretty heavily armed, I think it could take a Resurgent by itself.
I'd like to see a matchup between a Gallofree Yards Medium Transport and The Erfurt Latrine Disaster.
