Hope it’s ok to ask - we have the axkid move, but we have a tiny car and the passenger doesn’t have much space. Would the maxway plus give more space? It looks less bulky but without seeing them installed side by side it’s really hard to tell! Thanks 😊
I'm afraid that the Max-Way Plus was discontinued quite some time ago. The most compact ERF seat is the Avionaut Sky. www.rearfacingtoddlers.com/products/avionaut-sky-2-0
Hi,just a question.. would you have to move the passenger seat forward? The seats instructions say to not have it touching the passenger seat. This will impact who can sit in the passenger seat then I guess depending on their height
Britax do say you have to have a small gap, but experts in Sweden all agree that touching is safer and that it won't have a negative effect on the outcome of a crash. And for space reasons it usually makes more sense to have it touching.
Hi, This seat can be installed in the front seat of most cars, as long as the airbag can be switched off, which is very important. When you install a rear facing car seat on the front seat the tether straps are passed under the front seat. This video explains how to do that. ruclips.net/video/mnfM4-L8pq8/видео.html
Yes, and to stop the seat from tipping over in the rebound phase of a crash. The tethers are a vital part of the installation of these car seats and must always be used.
I always install the seat with as much legroom as the front seat allows. So if the position of the front seat means you can’t have a legroom gap, then the only way to achieve one is too move the front seat further forward. It’s not really an age thing, but obviously the bigger the child gets the more legroom they’ll need. Although children don’t need as much legroom as you might think.
@@RearFacingToddlers I've got my 2 year old with his Maxway Plus pushed against the cars seat, he's seeming like he needs more space as it's hard to get him in the car nowadays, can move my passenger seat forward no problem. Does it matter if my passenger seat is touching his Maxway Plus?
No, that’s fine. I always start my installations with moving the front seat into the right position and then I install the car seat behind it in back to back contact.
Yes, all tethered seats come with one pair of straps. You can buy additional straps if you're going to use the seat in more than one car, having the straps in place in each car makes moving the seat much quicker.
Great video! I have a question. I have a Britax romer dualfix I size. It's a big seat and I don't want to turn it forward. I am thinking of changing to the max way plus. My car is a ford puma 2021 and it's not at the tested /approved cars for this seat. Also I would like to install it with a legroom gap but I don't know if it's gonna be spacious for the codriver. The distance between rear passenger back and the rear side of the corider seat is 74cm
74cm is quite a tight gap, but you should be able to get the Max-Way in, although not with as much legroom as you might like. The Max-Way will fit in virtually any car as long as it doesn't have storage compartments in the floor.
The size of the gap depends on how far forward the front seat can go and that will depend on how tall the passenger is. The further forward the front seat can be, the more legroom you can give the Max-Way in the back.

Hi there and thank you to video by any chance would you know how or if we can fit this seat in the front seat (passenger)
Thank you 😊

Can it be installed front facing as well?
No, this seat only rear faces, which is much safer in a crash.
Should you leave a legroom gap? Is that allowed with the seat?
It's definitely allowed and an older child will need it.
Do you have to keep the tethers on to keep the seat from gliding back and squeeze the child’s feet in a car crash?
Yes, and to stop the seat from tipping over in the rebound phase of a crash. The tethers are a vital part of the installation of these car seats and must always be used.
My sons nearly a meter tall, what height is a leg gap usuallu required at?

@@RearFacingToddlers whats the optimal distance in cm between the seats in your opinion?
Is there a gap with opel (vauxhall) meriva 2011?
The size of the gap depends on how far forward the front seat can go and that will depend on how tall the passenger is. The further forward the front seat can be, the more legroom you can give the Max-Way in the back.
