Always great to start the day with a new video by Jake. Great to see Tyler in your videos making a guest appearance. I got my mug already. Best of luck to all. Looking forward to videos of the things in the shop.
@@GrimesGarage That was about what I got as well but 'the forums' made it seem like I should have -1.75 or so after just adding the M arms which made me pretty confused. Being I'm not a smart man, it took me a hot minute to put all the pieces together.
Great job, Jake. Glad the upgrade was what you wanted. Your work on the BMW gives me ideas for the Volvo when it comes time to rebuild. With almost 400,000 miles with mostly factory installed parts I image I will notice a massive difference.
@2:25 the spot that's ground down usually indicates that TRW arm is probably the vendor that makes the arms for BMW. That might be the location of the BMW logo
i just did M3 fronts on my 128i and did tc kline coilovers. for the longest time now i've had very noises coming from the front of the car... over time i've gotten rid of some, doing sway bar links, wheel bearing was a big one that mad a difference.. but there was a rattling i just couldnt get. i was starting to fear it was the steering rack or something, but after doing the M3 arms, its alllll gone. such a smooth quiet ride now. idk if its was from the worn joints on control arms or the old asf stock shocks.. but doing the M3 is def worth it, and very easy. hardest thing for me was banging that one arm into the subframe. when banging it in it kept kinda marring the metal on the frame so it was making the metal on the frame dent up in a way you couldnt slide it in... i ended up using a higher grit sandpaper like 400 to sand the frame down on the inner part there so it would clear easier, i did it before starting the arm on the other side and it worked waaaay easier than the first time without doing it first
You got the Malaysian made tension struts, the ones in the bag, they aren't the original M3 parts. The ball joints are known to go out quickly. Keep us updated as to how long they last! I sent mine back to get OE.
As far as your loud pop when leaving the driveway goes... Check the two bolts in the steering rack - I had a similar problem and tightening those bolts fixed it.
Jake . I'm and older follower of your channel . I would so appreciate if when you insert fact or extra information that you could make them stay on the screen longer to read . the last two with your motorcycle accident and driving the PR cruiser came and went so fast I missed half of the posting in the video . I'm not an ahole however when you insert those by the time I adjust my glasses I missed the point or correction you were trying to make . just a kind suggestion from a very long time subscriber . I'm going through the last five videos as I have been off channel in the last three weeks . love the way things ate progressing on your channel and enjoy the fact that you now seem to be able to have someone to share them with ! God Bless ! Thank You in advance . Timothy P. Kraus
With it that low, how did you torque everything down with the weight on the wheels? You can't torque it while in the air, because when it's normally loaded on the ground the bushings will be under tension and will fail quickly.
We loaded the suspension with a Jack first. And the forward bushings in the torque arms are the only ones that needed it. M3 LCA have a spherical bushing on the inner, both outer are ball joints.
Hey Jake I am only seeing the option for the mug, and not the digital download. I don't have the money for the mug right now but i would love to still support you and grab a digital download if the option is on the table. Any insight would be great, thanks!
I would love to enter the contest for the Corvette, however, I live in CT and a car needs to be 25 years old before the CATS can be deleted, which would be 3 years from now....
most wrench on their own car when Vlogging mechanics.. also, FCP euro and ECS sell the kits buuuuut.. ROck auto is about 100 cheaper, even when buying the rod from ECS or FCP..
I liked the vid and commentary, but felt bad for old kaboom, he's hurting, do ya give hin chondroitin and glucosamine supplements, because they help joint pain in animules. I had to finally put my boston terrier down because of cancer, but he lived 16 good year's. I haven't been on youtube for a bit and had to catch up on video's. Your back story sounds like the nightmare i went through from a work injury. I would rewrite it here, but it's in the comments on your video about your back injury, you should read it if you want company on that. G-d bless from a girl in michigan.

I love when Jake just starts as a pure optimist :) He is the second coming of George Costanza :)

When you see new parts with a ground section near the part number it usually means it's an OEM part they just ground off the BMW logo.😊
You really should have hundreds of thousands of subscribers. Love your work mate, keep it up.
This was a super worthwhile upgrade on my 1er. It won't net you as much camber as you'd think unless you drill out the pin on your strut mounts.
Final result was 1 degree

that ground down spot is where the BMW logo was and had to be ground off to be sold as "aftermarket" even though they are the factory parts.

I was about to comment that that's usually what it is on the oem brand
i lost it at "I'm armed, I'm control armed! " XD

The M3 transformation begins 😈

Nope. Narrowed it down to the LCA/spring link ball joints when I had it up in the air for mounts
7:46 - Taco Bell, Blue Moon and a redhead on her phone. What more could you ask for?
I don't see an option for a "digital download" and I can't afford a $49 coffee mug. What do?
Just give him $3 on patreon

There’s Tyler! Best co- star in Kansas!
Stay tuned: we go national. (And mildly delirious)
The lower control arm where there’s marring on the side is where they removed “BMW” to sell under their own brand
Got my mug. Too bad it had the getw ad on the back side... Your design is really cool!
Thanks Jake for sharing another fun video!!! 👍👍🙂
I would love to enter the contest for the Corvette, however, I live in CT and a car needs to be 25 years old before the CATS can be deleted, which would be 3 years from now....
Did anyone fix the downstream o2 sensors on the corvette zo6?
Sweet production quality in the dark😂
"I'm armed, I'm control armed"
I get the feeling there were some beers smoked and some weed got drank before working on the BMW😂
Good Morning Jake heheh. Another fun video 🙂
"......everything, so far today, has been an absolute disaster....... So you're saying everything is normal, right?🤣
Fr...Ya'll need to limit the edibles the dog eats😄
Happy Hump Day Jake
The no notice post.
He said peasant 😂

The proper torque spec for everything on BMW cars is Gutentight.
LOL that intro.
I’m control armed💀
