Arsenal back then we’re a joy to watch! I’ve followed them since 1972, and this Arsenal, 1989 to 1991, is the Arsenal that I want to remember as being the epitome of all I imagined and aspired them to be. Yes, the key Wenger years from 1998 to the European final in 2006 was something to behold and appreciate, but give me George Graham’s Arsenal, a mixture of home grown talent, strategic brilliance, defensive mastery, and genuine flair, any day of the week. So glad to have seen it and remember it, just sorry being a northerner, that I didn’t go down to Highbury to witness their dominance in the ‘home of football.’ Thanks.
thanks for the nice comments Graeme. This Arsenal side managed by George Graham was also my favourite. Rock solid keeper and defence, hard working midfield with great personalities such as Paul Davis Micky Thomas and of course the attack of Alan Smith Ian Wright Paul Merson. Hated the way Grahem was treated and sacked so couldn't support Arsenal after that.
That 5-4 Liverpool v Leeds game was brilliant one of the best games I’ve ever seen. Liverpool looked tired the second half of that season like they knew their run at the top was coming to an end
The good old days of English football. Paul Merson, Alan Smith, David Rocastle, Paul Davis, Anders Limpar, battering Liverpool and Man U in the same season.

Arsenal effectively only lost 3 matches that season domestically... Defeats to Utd Chelsea & Spurs as i remember.
It was just Chelsea I think.

Yeah the days before sky enabled you to win leagues
Dunno about you lot but I still find 4:3 best for viewing football...
lol How does it not count? Arsenal won the league cup in 1993 which was......2 years later! So that didn't count then?!
That was the League Cup though so it doesn't count.
