Not just big Infiuencers but some micro Influencers also do this... I own a small business and a micro influencer reached out to me for a collaboration I sent her my pieces , cut to two months she didn't post anything she had promised , fortunately enough I was able to get my things back from her and atp I'm just scared from these "influencers"
I have seen a trend in this, all the top influencers, barring a handful of them, were already from upper middle class to rich backgrounds, Ranveer (Beerbiceps), Tanya khajinow, Akanksha mongal, prakhar gupta, hell even Acharya Prashant just to name some off the top of my head. I found so many of these people are all already comfortable without doing what they are doing and literally stopped watching any of their stuff. Everytime I get a suggested content of any influencer, I just forget about it.
Literally one reel it take yet these people are okay being a thief than fulfilling their part of the deal. It's high time these small business file case against these scammers.

hey I work in the industry as a talent/brand side manager and can give you a little bit of perspective over this- Firstly creators do not get paid from Instagram to promote their videos or create videos, they used to but they don't anymore. Secondly a bigger hand goes to the mangers that manage them- they earn commissions on paid deals hence they don't allow influencers to do barter collaborations. As for commitment, It makes 100% sense for creators to stick to their commitments no matter how big they are. People like tarini shah has a whole story highlight for items via small business and it goes without saying that ultimately its on the creator's ichenin if they'd wanna stick by the commitments or not. but I hope this brings some added perspective to this.
