- Easy Crochet Cowl for Beginners | One Skein Project
How to crochet a cowl for beginners with one skein of yarn. Easy, quick and cute project. Perfect for someone learning to crochet because it is simple crochet pattern or project with a one row repeat stitch pattern.
Stitch pattern - tilted cluster
Size of the cowl: 10 inches X 19 inches
Yarn: Red Heart Roll with It Tweed
This is a medium 4 weight yarn with 296 yards per skein. The color of yarn I used in this crochet video tutorial is Wildflower.
Crochet hook size: J (5.75 mm)
The yarn called for a crochet hook size of I-9 (5.5mm); however, I decided to move up a size in the crochet hook so the stitches would be a bit looser for improve the drape of the cowl.
The project was crocheted in the round. Foundation chain of 120 chains and join with slip stitch.

Hi yarn friend 🙋🏻♀️
I just found your channel by searching for unique shaped and/or fancy dishcloths/washcloths.
I like to make unique cotton dishcloths/washcloths/hot pads & tea towels to gift to charities, friends & family.
I see a lot of fancy coaster tutorials & wish I was skilled enough to know how to increase them so that their beautiful borders still work out properly.
Many people love the round & hexagon & flower shaped dishcloths/washcloths but I can only find a few tutorials for them.
Blessings my friend & I subscribed & commented & shared several of your tutorials with friends I have here in crochet clubs❣️
I will think about other dishcloth patterns I can make for the channel. Thank you for the comment.
When you make your dishcloth plan out the stitch count you need for your border and then you can do a round of single crochet and either increase or decrease to get your needed number of stitches for the desired border. There is a great article on how to do this. Let me find the location of that article and see if I can put the link here for you.
The article name is, “how to increase your crochet stitches evenly”
Here is the hyperlink to the blog article.
Hope that helps you.
