So many great scenes in the movie.
One of my favorites was Groot with Peter on the ship. It tells us (without showing it) that Peter was training Groot with his blasters just like Yondu was training with Peter in GotG 2 flashback scene.

Adam warlock worked as a "baby" for so many reasons to me. Since he's ultrapowered, it allowed him to have room to grow as a character, and also play heavily with the overarching theme of the movie of parents.
Secondly, it didn't create universe ending stakes by having ultrapowers. This movie was one of the most hard hitting marvel movies and because it wasn't Thanos or Kang ready to end everything, it allowed those hits to all be character based.

To me, this movie did a better job at establishing the end of a saga than Endgame did. It feels like a celebration of the characters journey together coming to an end, while embracing both their pasts and futures with open arms and most importantly, not killing off the characters.

    • @neofromthewarnerbrothersic145
      @neofromthewarnerbrothersic145 Год назад

Same. This movie was a better conclusion than Endgame in a lot of ways. It was a clean victory and a clean resolution, no weird and devastating consequences like _half of all life_ being gone for 5 years and suddenly reappearing. But to be fair, Endgame had a much more difficult job to do.
And I mean, it _is_ interesting that the whole conflict with Thanos left this huge scar on everything... but it's also confusing. It's not like the Avengers screwed up really bad and deserved this punishment... and they win in the end, but it never feels like a complete victory because that huge scar is still there. Just ends up feeling too much like the writers wanted to have it both ways. Overall I'm fine with it, but it just felt a little contrived.

I think High Evolutionary would not know Lylla as Lylla because he only knows her as a number. Only the 4 friends of batch 89 would know their names...maybe Groot knows? Also actually I love that in trailers it seems like somebody is going to die, because then I went through the movie worried every time someone gets hurt (Rocket, Drax, Quill) and was so relieved in the end.

In an AMA on twitter James Gunn addressed Star Lord not having his mask. He said it was destroyed in Vol 2 which is why Yondu had to sacrifice himself to save Peter. He also added somehow he had a new one in Infinity War. I think it was other directors making choices with the characters he didn’t necessarily agree with.

  • @jacobkeeth407

There is a crazy irony in the creations that the high evolutionary makes. Rocket and his friends were too ugly and imperfect to live on counter earth, but then the animal creations that defend him now on counter earth, like the pig soldier and the hell-spawn were just like rocket’s friends. It’s an added level of cruel.

I hope they develop adam warlock further in the future. I'd love to see him interacting with thanos somehow because in the comics Warlock was a strategist so brilliant that he could only be rivaled by thanos. The both of them use deception and misdirection, admire each other very much, and have teamed up on many occasions. they've been friend and foe. I think its a disservice to the character of adam warlock not to explore his relationship to thanos, or at least the silver surfer (another one of adam warlocks few truly admired and respected friends).

I still find it odd that no one is talking about the light of Mantis' antenna. When she first demonstrates her powers in GOTG2 they light up with a yellow tint but when she uses her powers against Ego they light up with the same blue tint as the light that Ego and Peter manipulate. This would be our first clue to Mantis' and Peter's relationship. Not only that but from the moment they kill Ego on her antenna only light up with the blue tint in my mind giving lie to Ego's statement to Peter that if he kills him, he'll be like everyone else. That is why I believe that Peter and Mantis still have access to their celestial powers and just have to learn how to control them.

I guarantee not a single song was with out purpose. Even if it feels this way. I heard a lot of reviews say they felt some of the songs didn’t fit or were random and I’m glad I didn’t feel that way bc music is everything in movies for me and in this case it just worked for me. Lol tho I wish the villains music was played more. ‘‘Twas super intense. Maybe the best since joker imo

I would simplify Peter catching the orb this time because he isn’t trying to woo Gamora. In Vol 1 he just got pushed out of the jeweler shop and Gamora is there and he tries to put the Star Lord charm on her and drops it. He cares for Gamora in Vol 3 but angry in the retelling of their history so more focused to catch the orb this time.

He would bloat out as the pressure inside his body would be greater than the void of space, but I'd have thought a much quicker, gorier and final process.

Erik you need to read the We3 comic, it seems James Gunn took a lot of inspiration from it, esp the character Floor

Schaffrillas Productions has a cool read that James Gunn was making a critique of Disney/Marvel throughout the film... not just through the High Revolutionary.

You do realize Radio Head is like one of the most popular bands of the 90s.... Maybe the Social Network is the reason why you like the song or know it, but it isn't like that for most people born before 1990.

My suggestion for future videos like this is to Star (?) the super chats, something Star Wars Explained does, and then answers them at the end. Keeps the flow smooth and you can get to the stuff you want to say
