Now I want a boss fight with this theme. Surge zap dashing everywhere with her trails of lightning as obstacles to avoid, meanwhile Kit attacks from the rear with AOE splash attacks and tentacles, after doging for a while Surge stops to catch her breath and Kit has to recharge his water supply and that is the chance to attack. If you're good you can counter their attacks in the split second between their cycles.
After a while they realise what's going on, and start alternating, leading to you having to reach a resting Surge while dodging Kitsunami's attacks, and reach a recharging Kitsunami while dodging Surge's attacks.
If you take out Kit first Surge gets more reckless and leaves herself open more, but if you take out Surge first Kit goes ballistic and floods the battlefield.
@@lilyaka9194 You're half right. But Kit is supporting Surge for all the wrong reasons. It isn't done out of love or companionship, but of compulsion and desperation. He _needs_ to be with Surge, otherwise he can't function as a person.

I keep returning to this melody. The way you made it so energetic and upbeat, yet sinister at the same time. All the sci-fi sounds thrown into the mix. The god damn 'level selection'-eske sound in the very beggining. The way at any point there are two separate sound tracks (most of the time its the main melody and the low rhythmic engine?? sound in the background) that are very different yet still complement each other. I just can't get enough of how much I can hear these characters in this piece. A sensation only comparable with Mick Gordon's ost for DOOM really. It doesn't get much more fitting and perfect then that. This is a masterpiece.
Actually I want to point out some personal highlights of the Dual Soundtrack thing. (I name all the counds myself based on what they remind me of) 0:00 - 0:23 the Engine sound is the centrepiece, but you can hear some sci-fi effects in the background, particularly "exp bar getting filled" (0:01 - 0:11) and "UFO" (0:11 - 0:23) 0:23 - 0:45 the Melody appers and becomes centrepiece, Engine is now in the background. 0:45 "sci-fi weapon wind up", joined by "exp bar filling up" at 0:56 1:07 one of the best parts of the melody imo. UFO, being gradually taken over by "mistical portal", interrupted by Engine, back to UFO before 1:17 Engine becomes centrepeace, with "exp bar filling up" getting louder and louder in the background untill 1:25 - 1:48 Melody is back and Engine is back to the background. The music keeps pulling these stunts, and honestly, if you werent the actual writer of these comics I would assume that there is some serious foreshadowing going on. This piece tells a story.
talk about a banger! i like how hearing it gives off a hero vibe but at the same time its feels meancing. like this "Hero" isnt truly a hero, only hiding behind a mask of being one. great work on this track.
We’re around the corner for issue 50. So far this theme sounds like a nice fit for the two pair You got the hard electronic beats bashing in quick fashion and controlling the bass like surge, a light chip tune complimenting the electronic beats in the chorus like kitsunami. All with a few pieces that sound like an espionage as well as putting in most of the work to make sure nothing is off beat(to some degree); orchestrated and organized like the genius duck billed platypus, dr starlight.
And hopefully Sally! SEGA was able to use Tangle and Whisper in a mobile game, so hopefully they’ll decide to add in Sally and the others! I think it would make a lot of fans happy to see not only the IDW characters but also Sally Acorn in an official game 😁
Well the thing is I remember some people saying the Comics aren't cannon to the Modern sonic games, although IDW has been including some of the main villans from some Sonic modern games. So there could be a chance they might show up in a Sonic game more into the Furture. Edit: I am now aware that Tangle was mentioned in Sonic Fronteirs
Tangle is mentioned by name in Frontiers. It's a small piece of dialogue that's probably missable, but more acknowledgement than any of the Archie characters got.
@@MusicKitsune I remember hearing the opposite and I also remember names being dropped in Sonic Frontiers. That's as far as a confirmation of IDW canon as it can get so far.
Beautiful composition: gives off some nice heroic vibes, but at the same time, this villainous idea these characters stem from makes this music even more powerful, and I love that you managed to capture all of that in this amazing original theme! You can do no wrong, my friend! Though I have to ask WHAT THE HECK are those guitars, man!! I am curious of the VST you used to make this sound heavier in even standard E tuning: you programmed it well this time, chief. Love it!
I love how Surge, Kit and Dr. Starline are all based on glitched sprites of Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles, respectively. Like if Pokemon took Missingno and made a whole new Pokemon around it. Interestingly, Scourge and Surge are both based on Sonic's green and black "Ashura" sprite. You can really see how Archie and IDW took them in different directions. Actually, now that I write them out next to each other, I wonder if there might be some correlation with the names...
@@kingcamelot1395 I'm well aware of that. I don't think I'll ever forgive Ken Penders. Still, I think IDW really took Surge in an interesting direction. And hey, anything to spite that overgrown Knuckles fanboy, right?
@@machinedramon3532 I have hope that we'll get back the Archie characters he holds someday. Someone will offer the right amount of money, or he'll say or do something controversial that'll make him lose everything. I don't know how or when, but we'll get our beloved characters back. Until then, we have Tangle, Whisper, Belle, Surge, Starline, and Kit to tie us over.
