I can’t get enough of your song for Eustace Scrubb. To me it’s such a beautiful depiction of baptism, sanctification, and our neediness apart from God. I’d love to hear what it means to you!
I’d love to hear Shasta’s Complaint. I see a lot of overlap with this song in theming, and it’s the stuff I adore. It feels a lot like Job’s encounter with God.
I love your music and the theological themes you emphasize! Something neat my mom thought of when I shared this with her is how "The paint drips from His hand" connects to the end of the song being at the foot of the cross. The paint then becomes Jesus' precious Blood, dripping from His Hands.
You have a beautifully sonorous soul. I've followed your music for a while, friend, and I must say this is one of my favorite songs of yours because I relate to that suffering and melancholy spirit so so deeply. If you're looking for ideas, my thought in the matter would be 'Puddleglum's Anthem' and 'Eustace Scrubb'.
Definitely thought the "dark shade of blue" was the formless void at the conception of creation, but it's all the more captivating to hear that it's about the despair & deep thought, the shade that The Artist chose to paint you with.
This is awesome! Your own relationship with the Lord is evident in the lyrics themselves and their interplay with the melody of your songs. Definitely didn't know you were planning to do this series, and I think it is an amazing idea!
I am loving your music, newly discovered! Will you talk about behold the man? I’m struggling to understand the phrase that precedes “Pilate said it behold the man.” I love the message already, but would love to hear about it!

It's really cool too because it feels so intrusive and personal. I'd really like to know where the lyrics came to be a unique storyline

The gardener! Particularly the "and take it away" lyric which is intriguing because I haven't been able to decipher it.
Sarah, The Ways and The Means album needs to be on vinyl! Such a peaceful album! Thank you for sharing your music!

Oooooh currently wondering if "formless void at the conception of creation" would have been better😂😂😂😂

Very good song. Also I feel like I can identify with the part about joy and despair.
