- The National Park Service recently made quite the discovery that was actually hidden in plain sight. The Mount Clare train station in Baltimore, Maryland, is getting recognition for playing a major role in the Underground Railroad. Kris Hoellen, the executive director of the B&O Railroad Museum, and her team have discovered that the Mount Clare station was used by at least 20 confirmed freedom-seekers heading north to escape slavery. Inside Edition Digital Has More.
It is terrible how Henry Box Brown had to hide in a crate with only water for 27 hours. But, unfortunately, he probably endured much worse as a slave!😢
🤣😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣😂
That’s so cool it’s wonderful what those people were doing because it’s a worthwhile thing that they fought for
To my 4th grade teacher who said that the underground railroad had no actual rail road involved. I WAS RIGHT 🧐
👏👍
Teacher's don't always know...
Nice to see the B&O Railroad Museum getting national attention!
The B&O railroad museum getting recognition is just awesome!!
Hi fellow Railfan
The day you find out the underground rail road….Was also part of the above ground rail road…
This is cool to learn something about my city
❤️black history. Learning it can change the world
Next time someone asks me about the Underground Railroad, I’ll definitely be telling them a railroad was involved :)
And not the one from fall out
History is all around us, we just have to find that out
Wow you always learning something new I didn't even know that🤔
A part of the Underground Railroad is now being recognized on the B&O Railroad, how fitting! 👍🏻🚂
As a Railfan, I’m amazed!
They should colorize the photos
Wonderful find!! Good job guys!!
This needs to be UNESCO World Heritage Site
I love this museum, my son use to have yearly visits here when he was in school! Great to see them on here 👍👍👍👍
I used to love going to the B&O when I was young . I look forward to bringing my grandson when he’s old enough 💜
@@emilygilliard3213 it's a cool place, he's going to love it.
wow it doesn't change shape since 1851
Wow this is amazing ... freedom is something that’s taken for granted today because of our ancestors in the past ... we should never forget
Absolutely ! I remind my children often that freedom isn’t free ( they’re adults now , but they still need reminding ).
Oh, if only those buildings could talk...
My dad worked at mount clare 39 years. Retired 1967
So the overground railroad was also the underground railroad.
Learn something everyday and Baltimore is my home
its a railroad museum post people, this is positive news
not only he had limited supply of water but he had to drink from animal
If only RUclips existed back then, Henry Box Brown would be a sensation after inventing the human mail challenge.
Hi everyone hope your having a good day
Pray for the Ukraine people 🇺🇦
Lol!
This is the first time that the B&O railroad museum was feature on the News
Didn't the dome get heavily damaged and partially collapse during a storm? I saw that featured on the news.
Hi fellow Railfan
@@AmtrakFlareon helloo flareon :D
@@miaknig3130 ohhh, I have not know that inside edition featured that
@@kittysirenhunterco2392 Idk if it was Inside Edition, but all local news WMAR, WBAL...
To the chagrin of the current GOP, who openly oppose precisely this kind of historical tidbit.
Elaborate please? I'd like to know what you're referring to.
😲😲👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼❤❤❤
Hm. According to Inside Edition's map my house is an underground railroad hub...I should check my basement....
And what was the majority of Michigan doing? Seems like they were trying hard to avoid it...Why? I don't know why I'm asking here when I want actual information. Thats like the opposite of Inside Edition.
Well that's something
I been thinking, WHERE is Henry box brown’s BOXES nw?.
to everyone who always said the underground rail road had absolutely nothing to do with an actual railroad.. well ha!
As a kid when I learned of slavery , I thought the Underground Railroad was and actual Underground Railroad
ive been there for a field trip
I'VE WATCH ALREADY
I'm studying on Thurgood Marshall he was born here

We must stand in solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
And the people who work at this train station trying to get a pay raise !
You mean the racist Ukrainians who who let Black students on the trains to leave the country?
@@theshahofiran4381 um ok?
Well, celebs have already boarded that bandwagon, announcing their charitable contributions and of course H & M whose only schtick is to announce how terrible everything is so they can get their names out there because they're all such humanitarians and don't forget it, lol!
😍
Something tells me these whites knew; but didn’t tell
It’s not underground
Gotcha
No no no, the trains go on top of the ground. They got it backwards.
It's just a name referring to the network...most were above ground, secret sympathisers and risking life fir a chance at freedom. Most not actually underground.
@@theyregr-r-reat8035 🤔 So where da trians go?
@@eighterthabest9024 maybe I am misunderstanding you. The "underground railroad" is just a name. MOST were not done underground...it was not intended to be taken literally.
The "Boston Massacre" also was not literally a massacre, either...
I'm not sure if you really don't understand that or what?
Anyone living in america like this commrnt
More of Black history left out so we would not know our own history.
The nerve of those to call our history a Critical race theory.
It's our history that we must learn for ourselves to teach our children. We must do this for two main reasons. So our children will know their history so that it will not be repeated two so they will know where to pick up from. Because these people still exist.
We don't need permission,We have got to do this ourselves
we love Ukraine in the us dont worry help is on the way
From who?
I'm not sure what you mean by "help is on the way" the whole world is gonna feel this in one way or another. It's terrible.
N,E,
I’m I first? Lol
