    The fact that he summarized all the shortcuts makes this video the best I've seen so far! Short and sweet

    Thanks, I use a majority but there were several that I will *_def_* add to my workflow. Another that I'd like to suggest is "F", to make the select area a "Favorite". When I first go through all my footage I use "I" and "O" to select the good clips that I might use and then I hit "F" to make it a "Favorite". After going through all my footage I can choose to show only the clips marked as "Favorite".

      Favoriting clips with F is a huge time saver. Thanks for sharing

    Nice collection of shortcuts, in addition to your list I like using cmd+T for a quick dissolve, ctl+T for a basic title and opt+cmd E for for the default audio effect. I have the audio shortcut set to compressor(default) and limiter(-3db), this helps a lot to cleanup my run and gun videos!

    • @Serge1913
      @Serge1913  7 лет назад

      +Gary Hauptli I also use these shortcuts, just not as much as the others. But Opt+Cmd+E is new to me. Is it a custom shortcut you created?

    • @ghauptli1
      @ghauptli1 7 лет назад

      It's a built in short cut in v 10.3.2. Just right click any audio effect and you get the option to 'Make default audio effect'. I use audio effects together all the time for dialogue, (compressor, limiter and less bass) and was quite pleased to find the 'save effects preset' at the bottom of the inspector window. I made a custom 'compressor+limiter' effect for my go to audio default.
      BTW I'm quite impressed with the many FCPX audio fixes I've found. (I use a sony AX53 with the Rode Videomicro and Canon GX7 II).
      If the speech is too soft I've got seven compression levels available in the Inspector, four just for voice, (compressor>default>voice>pick your favorite) I made two custom presets I call 'MaxVoice' and 'SemiMaxVoice' I use in addition to the default setting.
      The Audio Analysis tool in the inspector works great for 60Hz hum removal and the noise removal works nicely when you adjust the 50% default value.
      Of course getting good audio is paramount(the AX53 with the small Rode is way better than the GX7) but all the goodies in FCPX make it all sound so much better!

    Very helpful video thx ! Question is there any way we can zoom in and out of the timeline with the apple WRLS mouse? With the mouse we can scroll left to right ,right to left on the timeline however you can't zoom in and out which becomes time consuming with keyboard shortcuts .

    • @c-sphere8933

      I don't have the mouse with me now but I think that it is feasible, try cmd + scrolling on the mouse(maybe with one or two fingers), the Trackpad is definitely better for that ;)

Then they will suddenly start working again. I've tried to search the internet for the answer but can't find the solution :(

    where is the "history panel" so that you can go back step by step of ALL last actions? CMD+z doesnt always work! Eg i was working on an mO2 project in fcpx where there is an instancer as a wall. I did something (i dont know what) and the wall disappeared. Hitting cmd+z undoes other actions but doesn't just go back in time to undo whatever it is that was done. So maybe if there's a history panel i can just click to go to the last time-point where the instancer wall was there. What strange and annoying behavior is this undo command in fcpx. Undo should just undo..
